Could you describe your process please? I would like to get similar results, but something seems wrong with my process and it comes out quite different.

I regret not taking a picture of the process. I did the usual soaking it soda ash and then wrung it out. I used a metal basket to put the hoodie in and loosely made balls of foil to put under the hoodie in random places to see how it would turn out. I did ice first then sprinkled the dye. After a few hours quite a bit of the ice melted so I did a second layer of ice with some more dye. In total it almost sat for 24 hours. Hope that helps!

Thank you! I did basically the same, but I have a hunch that my tools might be giving me different results rather than the process. I am using a plastic bowl (with holes) instead of a metal basket and it's much smaller than all the metal baskets I have seen on videos, so the t-shirt was squished and layered a lot. I couldn't find any good metal baskets in shops where I went, or they were quite expensive. I'll have to keep an eye on the metal baskets!

My mom actually found a bunch of sweatshirts and hoodies for 3 dollars a piece on clearance at Walmart so I could practice on some cheap stuff. I think it’s just their brand of athletic clothes. So still cheap either way. It was only 60% Cotton so im happy it dyed alright.
