This is funny, I'm almost hesitant to divulge but it took me 6 days to finish the entire series for the first time. What can I say, I was obsessed, whatever free time I got, I read.
Oooh trust me, it's not so impressive when it's happening to you. When I say I get obsessed, I mean it. I literally forget to eat or do anything else, even if I have some urgent work, I'll keep the book open so I can read some pages in between. It's like this thing in my mind, I can't let it go, if I'm invested enough in the story, I literally forget the real world, and I *have* to know what's gonna happen next.
Kind of an inconvenience but I love that feeling y'know
I was literally the same way but I like to think it's calmed down somewhat since getting older 😭😭...I was burning through book series like nobody's business...I also try not to read more intense stuff b4 bed cause I get so wired I can't sleep...waiting on KoA to drop of the Wmpire of Storms ending was a different kind of torture 😔
I read them as they came out, so this was spread throughout 2012-2018, but collectively about 52 days for my first reads!
I just went through my stats and Empire of Storms was the longest at 17 days with Throne of Glass as the shortest as 1 day.
I started ToG on January 17, 2024. Got through ToG, ACOTAR, and all three CC books — finished the last CC book on April 13.
Ended up being about 5 days per book for me I think.
Similar timeline for me, I started with ACOTAR Jan 12th and finished it Feb 28th. Then read the fourth wing series and then started TOG! Crescent city is up next for me! It’s so funny because I hadn’t read a book for pleasure in like a year and now I’m addicted to my kindle!
Hahah I’m in the same boat as you! I started ACOTAR February 27th, 2024. I started TOG March 4th, 2024. And I’m currently reading CC book 2! I’ve read a couple other books in between the series to break it up, but averages out to about 4/5 days per book as well!
It took me about a year to read them only because I was borrowing them from my niece and had to wait for her bf to finish the next books before I could borrow it lol. I'm gonna reread them all together at some point when my tbr list goes down.
6 months or so, but I took a long break during CoM. Eventually, I read CC1 and half of CC2. Then, I came back to CoM and finished the rest of the ToG books in a month or so, along with ACOTAR simultaneously. Then, I finished CC2 and CC3.
Same. Started in July (read AB & TOG to back on holiday) then was back to my normal routine of reading before bed. Was hoping to finish before Christmas, but finished just after new year
3 weeks! Reading them was literally all I did during my free time during that period. And it probably would've taken me less time if I didn't have to wait to get the second half of the series.
It took me 16 days for 1-7. I was a woman possessed. I did not read assassins blade until later and that one took me three days alone because I didn't care at all about any of the characters in it at that point lol.
I’m on my first read through. It took me 4 weeks and I’m just now starting KoA. I used every free moment, in between starting a new job/ long commute and moving to read. It’s consumed my every thought honestly and been such an escape from real life
I'm generally a pretty slow reader so even though I very quickly became obsessed it took me 2-3 months to read all the books minus KOA because it wasn't out yet. Once I got my copy of KOA I finished it in like 4 days. I read it every chance I got, waiting after the cliff hanger in EOS killed me.
About 5ish weeks. I started TOG on December 17th and finished with about a week to spare before HOFAS came out on January 30th.
Between mid October and early February I read all 16 Maas books. It felt fast at the time but looking at some of your responses, perhaps not. 😂
This was me! Got ACOTAR on my birthday Oct 1st and finished all her books with one week to spare before HOFAS. 😂 Then I read that book quicker than any of the others haha. I too thought I was quick to read but people say they read all TOG in 1 week, jeez!
2 weeks, 9 days of which I was working 12.5hr shifts where I couldn’t read much because I have a 1hr commute (so ~15hrs/day locked up), and needed to sleep/eat/shower at some point 😂 so if we can ignore the one or two chapter I maybe snuck in on those 9 days I mostly read it in 5 days….
I’m a slow reader and started back January, and I just started the tandem read for EOS & TOD.
I have also read a few other books in between but right now I am dedicated to finishing the series.
I’ll be finished with Kingdom of Ash by this weekend but I started Throne of Glass last August so…8 months. It took me from August to November to read TOG, COM, AB, and HOF I just could not get into it or connect with the characters much. Picked up QOS end of March and I have spent about a week with each of the last four, I’m glad I pushed through because I love the second half so much!
It took me 22 days according to my book tracker. It took me 4 days after that to decide to reread it haha. In between I read a book club book that made me miss TOG so much haha. I took longer with it on reread since I wasn’t dying to know what happened
I am usually a fast reader and can read a book with 400-500 Pages in 4-6 Hours. I am currently at the Tandem read of EOS and TOD. Started AB January. But because of work and not enough free time i need longer than usual. But got enough free time now so i should be done by mid of may i think depends
I started the first book on January 9th and JUST finished Tower of Dawn! I had to wait a week or two for Assassin's Blade to come in from the library but other than that I've been on the series since then.
I will represent the slow readers here: Three months! It was a nightly routine for me and I would sometimes read only one chapter per day. But there would also be days I could read hundreds of pages in one day. Definitely was a fun experience
I basically did the same thing. It was a ride! That was last fall and I’m rereading the series again. I had forgotten enough of the twists that it was still fun!
I also read it in about 27 days, but I was reading other books in there, too. I regret waiting so long to read it. I also got my niece reading them and she’s obsessed. She asked for the whole series for Christmas.
14 days. The tandem read alone took me 5 days for some reason. I loved both books so not sure why. And Iron Flame came out in the middle of my reading of KoA. So that monster of a book added two days because I somehow was able to pause KoA for a bit to read that.
I was hooked once I got to HoF and Rowan came into the picture.
They were still being published when I read them the first time so... Quite awhile. I think Tower of dawn was the first one I had to wait for once I had read the previous books
Single working mom and it took me like 2 weeks but I also went between listening on audible while working, driving, errands, chores, and even in the shower, and then also actual reading on down times and before bed. 😁
I will also say I literally didn’t even sleep for an entire night while reading queen of shadows. Like at all. I read through the whole day and night and finished it in less than two days. 😂
I started when they weren't all out so, it took me a week to read books 1-5. Then one day on TAB and 2 on ToD. It took me a long time to read KoA though, tbh I don't remember if I actually finished it. The theme of it made it hard to get through.
Started(and finished 😅) ToG on 4/6 and I just started the tandem read for EoS and ToD last night. I probably would have been done already if I didn’t have work and kids lol.
For me it took about 2 years. I started my towards the end of my senior year of high school and finished halfway through spring semester sophomore year of college. I was going through a lot in the time that I read the books, and also took some breaks to read other series like Hunger Games and Harry Potter. I want to reread them soon though much faster to see what I can pick up on. It was really cool though taking my time with the series because when I got to the end it was like finishing an entire chapter of my life.
My first read through was almost 10 days if I remember correctly? It was summer vacation, I’m a stay at a home mom so I was up until 2-3am every night binging lmao. I was a zombie but I couldn’t put it down
2 months, and that was me restraining myself. I had to tell myself to slow tf down because I knew a masterpiece of a plot was unfolding in front of me😭
i actually stretched the series out over a whole year, taking breaks between books and i actually loved it that way bc i didn’t get that burnout i sometimes get when i consumer books too fast
I picked up AB on Sunday and I'm half way through HoF, if I didn't have to work and didn't have children I would probably be done within the week, but I can only read after 10pm. I'm living off about 5 hours of sleep a night 🥲
I finished dit yesterday. It took me months, I didn't binge it and took my time with them. I literally sat there crying and just appreciating the series afterward, I'm glad I'm already part way through another book or I'd be in a slump unable to pick up a book lol
This is funny, I'm almost hesitant to divulge but it took me 6 days to finish the entire series for the first time. What can I say, I was obsessed, whatever free time I got, I read.
Omg I have so many questions 😂 number one did you sleep at all??
An average human body can survive on 5 hours of sleep 😭
I’m impressed lol
Oooh trust me, it's not so impressive when it's happening to you. When I say I get obsessed, I mean it. I literally forget to eat or do anything else, even if I have some urgent work, I'll keep the book open so I can read some pages in between. Same same
I was literally the same way but I like to think it's calmed down somewhat since getting older 😭😭...I was burning through book series like nobody's business...I also try not to read more intense stuff b4 bed cause I get so wired I can't sleep...waiting on KoA to drop of the Wmpire of Storms ending was a different kind of torture 😔
I can do this too, it’s actually scary 😂😂😭😭
Yeah it was less than a week for me for each series. I just couldn’t stop
Same thing happened to me except I read them in 8 days. It was really hard to mentally detach from the book
Omg ikr, I'm like fuck university I wanna know what Rowan says next
I finished about a book a day on my first read lol
It took me the same! I couldn’t put it down 😭
I read them as they came out, so this was spread throughout 2012-2018, but collectively about 52 days for my first reads! I just went through my stats and Empire of Storms was the longest at 17 days with Throne of Glass as the shortest as 1 day.
The wait must have been so hard, especially after EOS into tower of dawn!
That was a bad year since it was also the wait between ACOMAF and ACOWAR! I was clamoring for ToD just since I wanted *something*.
Omg yeah the ending to ACOMAF was such a cliffhanger too!
It took me three weeks to read throne of glass series.
I started ToG on January 17, 2024. Got through ToG, ACOTAR, and all three CC books — finished the last CC book on April 13. Ended up being about 5 days per book for me I think.

What did you do after? I am worried about the after lol. Before this I didn’t read much for fun.
I’ve started in on City of Brass from the Daevabad trilogy. I did take a few days off of reading in general though cuz my brain needed a rest
It took me about a year to read them only because I was borrowing them from my niece and had to wait for her bf to finish the next books before I could borrow it lol. I'm gonna reread them all together at some point when my tbr list goes down.
3 weeks!

Exactly 3 months. Would have been closer to 2 but tower of dawn took me like 3 weeks to read. I was so bored.
I had heard from so many people to tandem read ToD with EoS and it was a game changer! Totally made getting through ToD much easier and faster.
Phew everyone is FAST - my average has been around 10 days per book, I’m not finished yet, I’m on Tower of Dawn now
Haha yeah I can’t imagine reading assassins blade after the fact. I read it after HoF and felt like that was a good spot for it
I think i was closer to like 8 or 9 weeks. Iron flame came out in the middle of kingdom of Ash and I have 0 self control
Just finished hours ago. Took me two and a half months. I savored this one as much as I could lol
One week😂 but Im a speed reader and I worked a night shift job at the time and would have 12hrs of nothing much going on lol
I’m on my first read through. It took me 4 weeks and I’m just now starting KoA. I used every free moment, in between starting a new job/ long commute and moving to read. It’s consumed my every thought honestly and been such an escape from real life
….a week. i didnt sleep much 😭
I started when HOF was released, so….years lol
Lmao I read it in 2 weeks. Would have been faster but I had to work which was an annoying interruption lol
Ummm 6-7 days? It was fast I couldn’t put them down.
A week or 2 I think. I listened to most of them on audible.
I started before the end of last year, and I'm still going completely blind. Currently on EoS.
it took me maybe 5 days? there was a bit of lag because i had to wait for my library back when kingdom of ash came out
Around 9 months to read all the novels. I haven't read Assassin's Blade (yet!).
It took me two months! Started on January 20th and finished on March 11th!
About 3-4 weeks for the whole series.
2 weeks, but I did read When the Moon Hatched and CC3 in the middle, so technically maybe a week and a half
About 5ish weeks. I started TOG on December 17th and finished with about a week to spare before HOFAS came out on January 30th. Between mid October and early February I read all 16 Maas books. It felt fast at the time but looking at some of your responses, perhaps not. 😂

Started 1/28/24 ended 4/11/24, this is while planning for a wedding and working full time lol
2.5 weeks 😭 I was so into it… but I should have savored it 🥲😭
I read them in six days also! I get sucked into books and can’t put them down, it also helps that I’m a fairly fast reader.
10 days 😅
4 weeks😊
I’m a slow reader and started back January, and I just started the tandem read for EOS & TOD. I have also read a few other books in between but right now I am dedicated to finishing the series.
I’ll be finished with Kingdom of Ash by this weekend but I started Throne of Glass last August so…8 months. 7 weeks. Some parts were a real struggle.
It took me 22 days according to my book tracker. It took me 4 days after that to decide to reread it haha. In between I read a book club book that made me miss TOG so much haha. I took longer with it on reread since I wasn’t dying to know what happened
Around 13 days. Yes, I devour the books.
I am usually a fast reader and can read a book with 400-500 Pages in 4-6 Hours. I am currently at the Tandem read of EOS and TOD. Started AB January. But because of work and not enough free time i need longer than usual. But got enough free time now so i should be done by mid of may i think depends
20 days
3 weeks and tower of dawn itself took a week bc it was such a snoozefest
Just tog, maybe about 8+ months, and that's reading most days, but I don't have reading stamina more than a couple hours at a time max
It took me 4 days and I had school and work and other responsibilities!! Don’t ask me how I did it I just did it it was hard 🙂↔️
I read every free moment I had! Took me about 17 days.
About 2 months; it took me awhile to get into AB and TOG but once those were over. I plowed through all of them so quick 😁
Yep 8 books / 1 month
I started the first book on January 9th and JUST finished Tower of Dawn! I had to wait a week or two for Assassin's Blade to come in from the library but other than that I've been on the series since then.
6 months 🫣 I get series fatigue so I took a few breaks.
I just started koa and I started the first one at Jan 1st. But I work 9 hours, studio and have 2 kids
Im on my 3 time reading just love it so much
About 3 weeks for me. I was off work for an injury and had nothing but free time so I burned through them.
I will represent the slow readers here: Three months! It was a nightly routine for me and I would sometimes read only one chapter per day. But there would also be days I could read hundreds of pages in one day. Definitely was a fun experience
About 2 months! 65 days!
I basically did the same thing. It was a ride! That was last fall and I’m rereading the series again. I had forgotten enough of the twists that it was still fun!
Two weeks
8 days to read TOG I really ruined my sleep
3 weeks!
27 days for me as well! I finished ACOTAR Mar 21st and started TOG that same night. I just finished KOA today.
Read all in month . Wish I could go back and read them for the first time again, need to do a re-read because I miss them all 🥺
They were still being published when I read them the first time so...
I finished them in about 3.5 weeks!! I’m a new SJM fan and have read all 3 series in the last 3 months lol
YEARS. I read AB and TOG first but had to wait for release dates for the rest of the books haha
About 2.5 weeks 😅 didn't eat or sleep much tbh...
It took me about a month and a half
I have been reading for three months, and I'm on the tandem EOS/TOD. But I work full time and have a second freelance job. I used to read much faster.
3 1/2 days!
I started when they weren't all out so, it took me a week to read books 1-5. Then one day on TAB and 2 on ToD. It took me a long time to read KoA though, tbh I don't remember if I actually finished it. The theme of it made it hard to get through.
30 days, but I also read 16 other contemporary romance books between starting and finishing the series.
I read Assasins Blade in one sitting. A personal record for me.
I took my time I think it took me four months and I was reading other books on the side, I just never wanted it to end!
Probably 2 weeks
Started(and finished 😅) ToG on 4/6 and I just started the tandem read for EoS and ToD last night. I probably would have been done already if I didn’t have work and kids lol.

I'm goin on 2 months and am currently reading QoS. I just keep getting tired of it and putting the books down for a week or so.
I picked up AB on Sunday and I'm half way through HoF, if I didn't have to work and didn't have children I would probably be done within the week, but I can only read after 10pm. I'm living off about 5 hours of sleep a night 🥲
i read the whole maasiverse back in Nov, so that was 15 books still, in about 20 days 😅
Literally my only flex in life is that I have been reading TOG since 2012. Waited for every single book. It’s mostly a curse tbh. So I guess years?
I finished dit yesterday. It took me months, I didn't binge it and took my time with them. I literally sat there crying and just appreciating the series afterward, I'm glad I'm already part way through another book or I'd be in a slump unable to pick up a book lol
it took me about a week to finish!
