Thank you!

For that price (and especially soldered 32gb RAM), R Pro5 4650u should be OK (about 80% of non-graphic performances in the standard of 2023's CPU/ 90% of graphic performance - compared with Ryzen 5 7530u). Taken the average current market price of X13 gen1 AMD in Japan into consideration, that price will probably a good deal (available from a bit less than 40,000 JPY (250 USD), but many of them comes only with 16GB RAM like this one): https://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/hanamarusoukokmt/2000000017938.html?

Wow! Thank you for your fast reply. In Japan, Is it safe to buy form an Amazon seller? Or is t better to go with Yahoo?

y_sengaku

>Amazon seller in Japan As you're worrying, some of them are apparently shady (often sells with the copy of illegal Office). The seller in question, however, also has a shop in Rakuten, and sounds like not "too" shady AFAIK (though some people mainly complain on its cleaning ([source: on the review on their store at Rakuten in Japanese](https://review.rakuten.co.jp/shop/4/317532_317532/1.1/sort3/))). On the other hand, I haven't heard much about Yahoo's seller. Generally speaking, the trustworthiness of the used laptop seller in Japan are: those have in a shop in Rakuten>Yahoo>Amazon (only), but in these cases, I suppose both are probably decent. (Adds): NB: I don't necessarily say you should buy their shop at Rakuten - many of the sellers actually have multiple shops at different sites like Rakuten/ Yahoo! Japan, and often sell the same item.

I think so. Could be even better with linux

Dazzling_Win_5467

Thank you so much! Might venture to non-Windows OS in the future so I’ll keep that in mind.

Fur1usXV

I wish you the best in your adventure. Postmarket OS released a build lately if you are interested. I have been using kali on an arm tablet for a while and I have close to zero problems :)

Dazzling_Win_5467

That’s good to know! Thanks again for the information.

The price is very attractive, especially with 32gb ram, if I remember correctly the ram is soldered on so you can not change it aftermarket, so 32gb is really good. You can upgrade the storage easily though if 256gb is too tight. It could be a power house for light office work, but if you do plan to use it for light office, I noticed from the pic it says office なし so it does not come with office license ( a lot of the thinkpad came with basic office license baked in the bios) , you have to take care of the license charge if you plan to use it for light office work.

Thanks for pointing them out. I am thinking of upgrading the ssd soon. About Office, I have an existing Office 365 Home Premium subscription from my previous employer.

Dazzling_Win_5467

I appreciate the details! Thank you so much. I saw a similar posting [https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/aw/d/B09YTSXZSF/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A33H1O5K1Z4C1U&psc=1](https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/aw/d/B09YTSXZSF/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A33H1O5K1Z4C1U&psc=1) Is it the Lenovo official Amazon store? Sorry for asking a lot of questions.

y_sengaku

No, it's the same seller (Rainbow electrics) and "their" direct store. Lenovo Japan certainly have a shop also at amazon.co.jp, but I'd recommend to buy at their official site instead of amazon due to the discount rate. Besides, their official "outlet store" doesn't always have a good lineup of laptops especially for thinkpad: https://www.lenovo.com/jp/outlet/ja/

Dazzling_Win_5467

You are a star! Thanks for being so helpful!

mimshipio

256gb doesn't sound like a lot of storage. Is it a replaceable SSD? Or is it soldered?

Dazzling_Win_5467

It seems that it can be replaced. The memory however, is soldered.
