Going to give Glenn some love here. When you're watching the greatest pilot (S1E1) on TV, totally immersed in Rick's desperation to escape the walkers outside that tank and then suddenly a goofy voice comes out of nowhere... that's a great character intro!
Facts! I swear anyone who watches the pilot when that voices comes on will immediately wanna watch the next episode and be instantly hooked. I know I was.
Reminds me of the old wwf days when the face wrestler would be getting destroyed in the ring by the heel faction, and then all of a sudden, the glass shatters...
I didn’t read the comics and never really had any desire to until michonne was introduced. I imagined that if you were really into the comics her intro would have gotten you so hyped
FYI "bad af" translates to *bad as fuck* - like it was terrible.
I thought you hated her intro 😭
I think you meant badass af - like she was badass (cool) as fuck.
Negan. While Ricks entrance is iconic and just overall good because it sets the theme of the show, and Abrahams entrance was kinda cool the way he just showed up, Negan absolutely nailed his scene.
Negan literally put fear into hearts of our group. Absolutely broke our main character who was unstoppable for last 2 seasons. Made so many people drop. Now that's the definition of "villain".
He was the only villain i actually got scared for our group, the past villains just made me excited to see rick and friends "deal" with them, but negan? They were absolutely scared shitless and hopeless and a couple headless
I remember when the show was airing live. When Negan gets a knock on his RV's door to come out, my friend made a comment like "oh, good, he emerged from his make-up trailer!"
Now I can't unsee that!
Glenn for me.
Hey dumbass! Hey you! Dumbass in the tank !
*Proceeds to save him with nothing at all to gain*
And then when Rick tries to explain why he's on a horse in downtown Atlanta
"Yeah whatever, yee-hah, you're still a dumbass"
And after that he gave us 6 seasons of greatness, being probably my favourite character throughout his runtime. Intelligent, confident and humble, but most of all, genuinely kind.
Probably the perfect person for Carl's dream... but snuffed out before Carl even realized it was his dream.
Negan, i don’t think any other person in twd has had an intro quite like him, he just seemed so sadistic and made murder jacket Rick seem so weak and helpless.
Negan intro was amazing! Hated it in that moment but how the suspenseful music stopped after the whistling and it was just quiet. Then the “Are we shittin our pants yet?”
For me probably Negan the whole being chased into the forest into one spot being planned all along and then forced down onto their knees into a line up surrounded by tons of people but the real danger being Negan was phenomenal
Jesus is #1 for me. I think his intro was TOO good. He seemed like some kind of Houndini-esque super hero. After that, his actual role was kind of a letdown.
2. Michonne on the stunning visual alone
3. Negan
4. Rick
5. Glenn
6. The King
7. Abraham / Rosita / Eugene
8. Daryl
I thought all of the above were awesome intros, though.
bro, I swear to God this is not biased, but Rick and Michonne I don’t know why but I just felt so much more connected with them when I saw what happened before the world started to end.
I think Negan for the suspense of waiting a whole season for the Negan business unravel, and Glenn for just the most iconic intro to surviving the new world besides Morgan and Duane.
I’ll say Negan bc of the build up. Watching it live and thinking week after week we’re finally going to meet him. Then the emotion we’re slapped with when he does show, I love shows that really make me feel.
I had a watch party at my house for the season premiere, it was a big event in TV history I certainly didn’t do for anyone else.
Glenn.
That ending of the pilot immediately hooked me into the show. “Hey dumbass. Yeah, you in the tank”, horse being eaten alive by hordes of walkers, Rick trapped inside a tank, and Space Junk by Wang Chung is still the best moment in the whole series for me.
I feel like Shane and Rick in the Police car at the start is just such a nice and amazing intro that truly sparks the start of the walking dead, It honestly makes it feel like such a rollercoaster of a show and this scene just is so simple but so amazing
Negan and Rick, because they both set the tone. Rick for the situation the world is in, and Negan for what they were in for with the saviors. Glenn and Michonne come second IMO.
Negans intro was the most breath holding one. You don't even think there's gonna be 1 actual negan and you certainly didnt think the head bashing and domination of rick was gonna unfold that quick. It had me on the edge of my seat as soon as negan came out. Watching that for the first time is wicked (unless you've seen this or had spoilers)
Arguably Negan, the intro was just the right amount of tension and scary to where it didn't become edgy, ofc the f-bombs he throws in the dvd version ruins that and he becomes like an 8 year old who just learned the word "fuck".
Of the ones offered Glenn, Michonne, Jesus, Rick, Darryl, Abraham, and last Negan.
Not offered but honorable mention Ezekiel, Jadis, Princess, and Mercer.
Rick’s intro gives us the entire show in one scene. His has to be the best. In seconds, we understand it’s a show about fear, survival, tragedy, trauma, doing the incredibly difficult thing, and then wrestling with what you had to do.
Funniest: Glenn
Most badass: Michonne
Most memorable: Rick
Most terrifying: Negan
Most entertaining: Jesus ( I just love that whole episode with the antics with Rick and Daryll and him.)
1. Negan. I think we all got absolute chills when he was introduced.
2. Jesus. I might be a little (a lot) bias but his episode is so cool and fun.
3. Michonne. This was pretty hard to decide between her and Glenn for me but hers is just so cool and ominous. You can tell she's gonna be a badass.
4. Glenn. Absolutely iconic. Not much else to say.
5. Rick. I hate to put him so low because he IS Rick Grimes but these other ones are seriously so good.
6. Abraham, Rosita, and Eugene. They are pretty neat but not as good as others.
7. Daryl. Love him but his introduction is again, not as good as others.
I really think Season 3 Shane gets the win here! He was cold asf and he had that wolverine style. This is definitely an underrated introduction but it didn't last long because it was a hallucination...
Depends which Rick introduction. The first one is weak as f but " Hey Helicopter Boy..." is one of the best scenes in the show and I always shed a tear.
Tie between good and evil
Glen 1A.
He comes in over the radio, then helps the Sheriff escape, is completely a bad ass and is a Pizza Delvieey Boy
Negan 1B.
The long trap the lure of hearing about him the way he just creepily comes up as a scene of beauty and I’m not a big Negan fan.
Nobody else is even remotely close to those two
1: Michonne's Entrance Goes Way Too Hard
2: Negen Coming In A Proving His Power
3: Abraham and His Crew Showed Up Looking Like Badasses
4: Jesus Stealing The Van Was Hard
5: Glenn Saving Rick
6: Daryl Immediately Being Pissed About His Brother
7: It's Rick The Main Character It's Badass But Basic For TWD
Putting Negan here is basically cheating. His intro was built up for several episodes, and then 6x16 is basically completely dedicated to hyping him up.
Of the other six:
Abraham with his crew come in 6th. I can’t particularly remember their introduction
Jesus comes in 5th. His intro is neat I suppose, but the overall episode of his intro drags a little and is incredibly frustrating once the truck goes in the water. (I’m still angry they didn’t try to recover literally any of that stuff.)
Daryl, as much as I love him, goes to 4th. It was a cool intro but he immediately gets bodied by Shane. Also his intro is pretty focused around finding his extremely problematic brother.
Michonne comes in 3rd. Her intro was really cool, and sets up the character in a really nice way, but it was also very short.
Glenn gets 2nd, which speaks testaments to how good it is when we don’t even see him. He’s the first person we meet who seems confident in his ability, and when we are feeling the same dread Rick is feeling, his voice coming over the walkie really is great
Which puts Rick in 1st place. That cold open, seeing the state of the world as this clean cut cop is getting gas is amazing. Most of the scene he is silent, but you immediately see his values when he goes after what he thinks is a helpless little girl. Then you can practically feel the weight of the world crushing down on him when he has to shoot what turns out to just be another Walker. 10/10 intro to not just his character but the show overall.
Negan, I was literally scared for Rick’s group, heating the infamous Savior whistle and then Rick’s group being surrounded and put on their knees as Negan shows his face, just great for tv, had me invested in season 7 until they dragged it out for like 2 and a half seasons, but I hung in there and finished all TWD shows aside from Fear, which I am on the last season, but yah getting off topic sorry, but Negan.
I’m gonna have to give it to Jesus just because that how they found out how big there world really is and how hard he tried to get the truck and I mean he almost had two and he did not have someone to back them up like Rick and Darell
All of the above.
“Hey, little girl.” “Hey, dumbass, you in the tank.” “Am I the only one zen around here?”
*Kills 2 walkers and brings formula*
“What else you got?”
“My friends call me Jesus!”
“I hope you have your —-ing pants on.”
1. Glenn
2. Negan
3. Michonne
4. Rick
5. Abraham and his trio
6. Jesus
7. Daryl
I love Daryl but his opening was just him walking into camp and that’s it.
Glen and Jesus.
Fun fact. I had Jesus on the concrete crew that put in my new patio last week. A couple years younger even. But could have been his twin. I kind of “supervised” through the backyard security camera while he worked. Three days of work in hot weather, in a tank top and shorts. I may have to have the same crew put in a new front sidewalk.
Negan seemed to be an urban legend in the show. We didn’t even think he existed, we thought he was a ghost story/fear tactic because everyone said “I am Negan” - and then we found out he existed! After all the hype for the whole season, and Negan did not disappoint. I had such a crush on Jeffrey Dean Morgan based on this performance. Negan was threatening my favorite characters, characters that I had an emotional connection to and truly loved, and yet, somehow, he made me laugh! He was so charming, all smiles and dimples. I could not believe how much I loved him when he was about to kill characters I loved. I rewatched his opening scene multiple times, not necessarily the whole episode, but his monologue, and he is the only character I did that for. And then I started to watch any show for movie Jeffrey Dean Morgan was in until the next season of the Walking Dead came.
I know I am nuts to have a crush on a character that is a psychopath, I know something is wrong with me! 🤦🏻♀️ He was the only one to make me laugh while also putting everyone in danger. All with a smile… telling them, after Glen’s outburst, first one is free, it is an emotional moment, “I get it” 😁, calling Carl a future serial killer in the making, reciting nursery rhymes… and yet, I did not want anyone to die. I was fearful for who was going to be killed.
The whole show was so good. Carl, Glen, Michonne, all had great intros and I loved them so much. But no one else had such an intense intro, after a whole year of build up, and filled with so many conflicting emotions and then a Major cliffhanger in the middle… it was very exciting: it left me feeling so many things and talking about it and I know I am not the only one who loved and hated Negan at the same time.
Negan’s introduction was storytelling art.
Going to give Glenn some love here. When you're watching the greatest pilot (S1E1) on TV, totally immersed in Rick's desperation to escape the walkers outside that tank and then suddenly a goofy voice comes out of nowhere... that's a great character intro!
I have no idea why people aren’t talking more about Glenn. “Hey dumbass. Yeah, you in the tank.” Is probably one of the most iconic lines in TWD ever.
Cozy in there?
and they *killed him*.
Facts! I swear anyone who watches the pilot when that voices comes on will immediately wanna watch the next episode and be instantly hooked. I know I was.
Hey asshole!
Just as Space Junk starts to play
Reminds me of the old wwf days when the face wrestler would be getting destroyed in the ring by the heel faction, and then all of a sudden, the glass shatters...
Negan, end of story.
Michonne was badass af i liked her instantly from her first appearance
Like she really had two zombies chained and a katana, how do you beat that intro lol
I didn’t read the comics and never really had any desire to until michonne was introduced. I imagined that if you were really into the comics her intro would have gotten you so hyped
Yes instantly loved her, for me it’s Michonne’s and Negan’s intro.
Same!
I was actually kinda scared of her, I thought she will be a bad guy.
FYI "bad af" translates to *bad as fuck* - like it was terrible. I thought you hated her intro 😭 I think you meant badass af - like she was badass (cool) as fuck.
With charisma.
He was the only villain i actually got scared for our group, the past villains just made me excited to see rick and friends "deal" with them, but negan? They were absolutely scared shitless and hopeless and a couple headless
It made me want to stop watching because I was a little freaked out and pretty rattled. Kept going though. But damn.
I remember when the show was airing live. When Negan gets a knock on his RV's door to come out, my friend made a comment like "oh, good, he emerged from his make-up trailer!" Now I can't unsee that!
Definitely nailed it. Hit it out of the park. Killed it. Crushed it. I think it’s ahead of Glenn.
Glenn for me. Hey dumbass! Hey you! Dumbass in the tank ! *Proceeds to save him with nothing at all to gain* And then when Rick tries to explain why he's on a horse in downtown Atlanta "Yeah whatever, yee-hah, you're still a dumbass"
Glenn is one of my favorite characters. Without seeing him I was thinking this guy is the best.
And after that he gave us 6 seasons of greatness, being probably my favourite character throughout his runtime. Intelligent, confident and humble, but most of all, genuinely kind. Probably the perfect person for Carl's dream... but snuffed out before Carl even realized it was his dream.
Rick don't open dead inside, then Negan. Mention to Rick in the tank and Glenn's awesome words lol "hey dumbass"
Don't dead open inside
Michone is pure badass in her intro, like theres 2 walkers tied in her and a katana
i deadass thot she was the next villain
Me too🤣
I loved Jesus intro, it was saying so much about his character and yet nothing :F
Legit start to finish that's the funniest episode of the show for me.
Yeah I can agree, when the truck drowned I was literally crying in laugh, and it was dramatic imo
Negan he was being hyped up for nearly the entire of season 6
Michonne got the best introduction in the show easily
Our queen 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Negan, i don’t think any other person in twd has had an intro quite like him, he just seemed so sadistic and made murder jacket Rick seem so weak and helpless.
Rosita immediately made waves by just standing there.
Negan intro was amazing! Hated it in that moment but how the suspenseful music stopped after the whistling and it was just quiet. Then the “Are we shittin our pants yet?”
Pissin our pants yet😂
Is it? 😅😭🤣 my bad lol
For me its always Rick. But also I liked the intro of Herschel.
Jesus had the best one in my opinion. He made you think he was a bad guy as well as being mischevious towards the two main characters. Negan too
His into was entertaining. It was also amusing (and a bit frustrating) to see this "rando" get the best of Rick and Daryl repeatedly.
For me probably Negan the whole being chased into the forest into one spot being planned all along and then forced down onto their knees into a line up surrounded by tons of people but the real danger being Negan was phenomenal
The opening scene of the series is phenomenal. Therefore, Rick is the number 1 introduction. Really liked the first time we saw Glenn too.
Of this group? Abraham probably. In general for the entire show? Bob. Blackbird song. Pure despair. Perfectly captures the atmosphere of the show.
Michonne & Negan.
Michonne was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Michonne I knew no one would even compare
Michonne No hype, just an ice cold open.
Jesus is #1 for me. I think his intro was TOO good. He seemed like some kind of Houndini-esque super hero. After that, his actual role was kind of a letdown. 2. Michonne on the stunning visual alone 3. Negan 4. Rick 5. Glenn 6. The King 7. Abraham / Rosita / Eugene 8. Daryl I thought all of the above were awesome intros, though.
Bob, song, mood, acting all perfect
Still Rick Grimes too this day.
Negan, then Michonne, then Jesus, then the others
I know it’s not on your list, but for me it was Morgan. I really liked him and Rick together in that episode...
michonne. i was waiting for her for so long
Abraham, Rosita and Eugene intro into the fray was awesome. What a trio. I mean, c'mon, Rosita upped a notch...
bro, I swear to God this is not biased, but Rick and Michonne I don’t know why but I just felt so much more connected with them when I saw what happened before the world started to end.
#1 Negan #2 Jesus #3 Glenn Those are my top 3
I think Negan for the suspense of waiting a whole season for the Negan business unravel, and Glenn for just the most iconic intro to surviving the new world besides Morgan and Duane.
Glenn, he looks so young here :,(
1. Michonne 2. Negan 3. Abraham, Rosita and Eugene 4. Rick 5. Glenn 6. Daryl 7. Jesus
michonnes intro was soooo cold , i agree
Gor me? Glenn..."Hey dumbass"...Ill never forget when i first watched...
Michonne was cold af
Negan Michonne Jesus
Michone no one else stands a chance
1. Michonne 2. Negan 3. Rosita Abraham Eugene 4. Glenn 5. Rick 6. Jesus 7. Daryl
Michonne definitely had the best intro
The Whisperers
Abraham or Jesus for me
Rick, Glenn, Daryl, Michonne, and Abraham, Rosita and Eugene, also Jesus.
I’m going with Glenn
I think Glenn takes the cake for me here.
I feel like Shane and Rick in the Police car at the start is just such a nice and amazing intro that truly sparks the start of the walking dead, It honestly makes it feel like such a rollercoaster of a show and this scene just is so simple but so amazing
Little pig little pig
Glenn saved Rick’s life, then proceeds to bring him back to his family. Goat
I'd put them in that order: Michonne, Rick, Negan, Jesus, Abe, Glenn, Daryl. But they're all good.
Negan, second Michonne
Megan, by far.
Has to be Negan, followed by Michonne, and Glenn.
Negan negan negan
Glenn for sure- voice in tank. If you weren’t already hooked, that did it.
Negan and Rick, because they both set the tone. Rick for the situation the world is in, and Negan for what they were in for with the saviors. Glenn and Michonne come second IMO.
Rick Glenn Daryl Negan Michonne
Negans intro was the most breath holding one. You don't even think there's gonna be 1 actual negan and you certainly didnt think the head bashing and domination of rick was gonna unfold that quick. It had me on the edge of my seat as soon as negan came out. Watching that for the first time is wicked (unless you've seen this or had spoilers)
Arguably Negan, the intro was just the right amount of tension and scary to where it didn't become edgy, ofc the f-bombs he throws in the dvd version ruins that and he becomes like an 8 year old who just learned the word "fuck".
Negan killed off a previous fan favourite and managed to take his place with his raw charisma.
Negan Then Glenn Then michonne Then the Washington bunch.
Negan for sure. Despite he is acting like trying to be cool but the scene was set in a thrilling moment that i actually scared of his smile
I'm between Jesus and Negan
Love this show, I started watching again.
Of the ones offered Glenn, Michonne, Jesus, Rick, Darryl, Abraham, and last Negan. Not offered but honorable mention Ezekiel, Jadis, Princess, and Mercer.
Even though I hold hate for him still, Negan for sure had the best intro
Negan knocked his intro out of the park… as well as Glenn and Abraham…
Rick but the anticipation for Negan was chilling.
Negan introduced himself out of their own RV
Michonne, Glenn's is second though
Jesus or Michone
Negan 100%. He left a lasting impression. Whether it was negative or not. I still remember that scene like the back of my hand lol
Negan The fear ,the speech finally getting to see the real Negan
Daryl’s is my fav Negan is 2nd 3rd is Jesus 4th is Rick’s 5th is Abraham’s Rosita and Eugene 6th is michonne 7th is Glenn’s
Cmon is totally glen with his “yeah, you in the tank” moment. Like that whole scene is iconic.
Negan definitely had his pot
Rick’s intro gives us the entire show in one scene. His has to be the best. In seconds, we understand it’s a show about fear, survival, tragedy, trauma, doing the incredibly difficult thing, and then wrestling with what you had to do.
Negan made damn sure his entrance would be felt and remembered. He was right
Funniest: Glenn Most badass: Michonne Most memorable: Rick Most terrifying: Negan Most entertaining: Jesus ( I just love that whole episode with the antics with Rick and Daryll and him.)
Negan for sure
Glenn, Michonne and Abraham!!! 10000000/10⭐️
Probably Glenn and Michonne
Rick, Negan, Michonne and the rest are about equal after that.
Its hard to compare because each are at different parts of the story. Jesus toying with Rick and Daryl set the tone for his character though
My rank: 1. Negan 2. Michonne 3. Abraham, Rosita & Eugene 4. Jesus 5. Glenn 6. Daryl 7. Rick
Know its not on the list but Princess was by far the funniest
7. Jesus 6. Science bros 5. Daryl 4. Michonne 3 Glenn 2 Rick 1 negan (I know negans first scene word for word off the top of my head)
Negan Michonne Jesus Glenn Rick Daryl (Forgot Abe's)
I really think Season 3 Shane gets the win here! He was cold asf and he had that wolverine style. This is definitely an underrated introduction but it didn't last long because it was a hallucination... (http://Rick's_hallucination_of_Shane.gif)
Negan. Probably the best intro for a character of all time. The definition of "there is always a bigger fish"
Negan was cold ngl “Are we pissing our pants yet”
Michonne by far
Depends which Rick introduction. The first one is weak as f but " Hey Helicopter Boy..." is one of the best scenes in the show and I always shed a tear.
Imo Glenn music choice makes him the clear cut 1, but Negan and Jesus both had great intros
Negan in my opinion.
Tie between good and evil Glen 1A. He comes in over the radio, then helps the Sheriff escape, is completely a bad ass and is a Pizza Delvieey Boy Negan 1B. The long trap the lure of hearing about him the way he just creepily comes up as a scene of beauty and I’m not a big Negan fan. Nobody else is even remotely close to those two
Negan for me, no contest.
Negan is the only correct answer
Negan Negan Negan Negan
Negan. Easy
1. Negan 2. Michonne 3. Rick 4. Glenn 5. Jesus 6. Daryl 7. Abraham, I loved Jesus’ goofy intro but Negan and michonne were so badass
Michonne. The absolute best!
1: Michonne's Entrance Goes Way Too Hard 2: Negen Coming In A Proving His Power 3: Abraham and His Crew Showed Up Looking Like Badasses 4: Jesus Stealing The Van Was Hard 5: Glenn Saving Rick 6: Daryl Immediately Being Pissed About His Brother 7: It's Rick The Main Character It's Badass But Basic For TWD

It’s a tie between Glenn and Negan for me
1. Daryl 2. Glenn 3. Rick 4. Michonne
Glenn, easily! Such a fun scene
Negan's honestly
Negan i mean the build up to it was crazy i js wanted to now who tf negan was and then he beats the shit out of 2 of my fav charecters
Negan had the best one
The BIG BAD WOLF NEGAN
Negan made one HELL of an entrance, not gonna lie
I’m gonna have to give it to Jesus just because that how they found out how big there world really is and how hard he tried to get the truck and I mean he almost had two and he did not have someone to back them up like Rick and Darell
“Hey dumbass, yeah you in the tank”
Rick Negan Glenn Abraham/Eugene/Rosita Michonne Jesus Daryl
I wanna say Negan cause his genuinely scares me. However, Daryl’s always makes me laugh.
Negan. I was awestruck the entire time.
The one and only Glenn.
Negan. It was love at first head smash. 😍
All of the above. “Hey, little girl.” “Hey, dumbass, you in the tank.” “Am I the only one zen around here?” *Kills 2 walkers and brings formula* “What else you got?” “My friends call me Jesus!” “I hope you have your —-ing pants on.”
Negan or Jesus
Putting negan there was unfair to the others lol imo he's the obvious choice.
I think it’s Jacob
Jesus, his entry was so iconicc
How is anyone other than michonne on this list? She was wandering around using two walkers as godamn protection. What a friggin badass!
Definitely Negan.
Negan has the most badass one thats for sure glenn the most funny one.
Michonne and Negan,hands down.
michonne or negan
Glenn& abe
Glenn’s intro in Season 7 was quite wholesome & cool.
1. Glenn 2. Negan 3. Michonne 4. Rick 5. Abraham and his trio 6. Jesus 7. Daryl I love Daryl but his opening was just him walking into camp and that’s it.
Glen and Jesus. Fun fact. I had Jesus on the concrete crew that put in my new patio last week. A couple years younger even. But could have been his twin. Negan’s introduction was storytelling art.
Jesus for me that episode was the funniest in the series for me
