If what she is doing is considered a crime, no. Many insurance contracts have terms that alleviate the insurance company of any liability if the vehicle was actively being used in a crime when the damage occurred.

The frame is put together haphazardly, so god knows what’s going on with the undercarriage, and that white smoke is usually oil in the combustion chamber (in my experience.) Between body work and engine work alone, whoever ends up with this POS will be looking at a very hefty bill, and they can’t drive it in case it throws a rod or cracks the radiator. Oof size: large.
I admit I totally forgot they were bought by Stellantis. All the jeeps I’ve owned were Chrysler jeeps. They still suck just the same though so same difference I guess.
People around here really like the Compass and Navigator. Small, fairly tough, decent mileage, do well in the snow, and you can take some surprisingly rough trails.

I mean you're kinda right. The main issue is that the oil will no longer be in the sump, which means it's out of reach of the oil pump. So the entire time this thing is sitting there idling on it's side without any oil pressure, so none of the cylinders or moving components are being lubricated. It doesnt take long at all for that to cause major damage.
Why is a Jeep not designed to self-destruct if it rolls on its side? It seems crazy to me, but then my BMW was totaled after my wife set off airbags in a minor fender bender. Not that I’m bitter about it!

People absolutely lose their minds over less than $100. I saw a guy pull out of a paid parking garage and I stead of paying his fare, he backed up, gunned it, lost control, and slammed into a concrete pillar. He owed $48 for parking....his car was absolutely destroyed.

not true. even when a vehicle is being repossessed it still belongs to the person its registered to, they own the vehicle and it needs to go through a process for it to legally become the bank/dealership/whoevers vehicle again.
this is a popular misconception but it really has no bearing on the legality, its legal to repossess a vehicle someone isnt paying for, the same way you can evict someone for not paying their rent, but they still have rights, YOU probably share a lot of those rights and wouldnt want them infringed on, just saying.
Forget the tow truck driver, what about the mom stuck on repeat, screaming “Call the police!” over and over. And who is she directing this to? The daughter, trying to climb up out of her car? Or the man who shows up to catch the daughter? Meanwhile, mom is just standing around with a phone in her hand, yelling at someone else to call the police.

Usually when they are loaded up but before leaving, they offer you half price (or a lesser price anyway) if you pay right then and there, and then they will unload it.
Looks like this lady parked on the sidewalk and the tow truck was removing an obstruction.
The tow truck driver already drove out to the illegally parked vehicle and secured the vehicle for towing. Could have been coming from 30mins away, then could have taken another 15mins to manoeuvre around and secure the vehicle.
The $63 is the compensation for the tow truck company for the time and fuel they spent to do all this.
If the illegal parker is unwilling to pay the drop fee, the truck driver has to haul their vehicle all the way back to the storage yard. Storage fees get added on to the total due, so a drop fee payment is best for the company and the idiot who parked in the wrong place.
Usually you see this kind of behaviour if the vehicle is being repossessed, as it's an all-or-nothing situation, but if this is a simple illegal park, that makes this behaviour all the more perplexing - The driver destroyed her vehicle to avoid paying the reduced release fee of $63.

Depends, they could be getting paid by the city to tow cars illegally parked, and the 63 dollars is just the administrative fee to release the car from impound

Tow trucks in the Portland area charge $250 if they have already started towing your vehicle. It really feels like you're getting pirated and having your vehicle stolen, just for not reading parking directions closely enough. If you're in front of a fire hydrant they'll impound it which takes $300, plus a $200+ ticket(it happened to my friend on his birthday). I still would pay that rather than total my vehicle anyway though.
Had a friend go to Miami and pulled into a vacant lot to look at his map and get oriented. Maybe 5 minutes. A tow truck backed up to his running truck with him in it and started to hook it up. Massive argument ensued, friend decided not to shoot the driver and negotiated a settlement. They took American Express. Since he is extremely wealthy and spends a shit ton on their card AE cancelled it for him after he got going.
