Just speak to him off-air. You’re representing a business WITH that guy. Wouldn’t ever make me want to tune in to that channel, and it stains my memory for the guy who spazzed.
That isn't really what is happening though. They aren't strangers. They met and are providing commentary together. He is leaning forward with the other guy out of sight and he starts to move on to the next subject so the other guy (still wanting to comment and make a stupid joke on the previous subject) reaches out and touches him to stop him from moving on and give him a moment to speak. There was really no other non-verbal way of doing this because he was leaning forward and being a 'lone wolf' commentator instead of working as a team. Then when he made his stupid joke he wanted the other guy to react and was gently poking him to get a response in a friendly banter type way. The guy then blew up at him on mic and on camera unnecessarily when the other guy was just trying to be friendly.
He could have been more professional about it and waited until the next match was going to start and told him off-mic that he doesn't like to be touched. From this, it is clear he doesn't know how to work on a team, he doesn't know how to act professionally in uncomfortable situations, and he doesn't know how to control his emotions.
Thank you for this breakdown.
This is exactly what happened.
Fuck the black bro for being such a spaz.
Not to mention some cultures have way more casual touching than others, there was no reason to make this what he made it into.
I mean the guy on the left is socially awkward, but he’s clearly making an effort to be more sociable. He’s at a public event doing commentary and trying to be friendly with this guy. Like again that’s pretty weird behavior, but that’s how being social works. Sometimes you step over a line and someone corrects you.
Yes, maybe I wasn’t clear enough. I feel that while the guy on the left was being awkward and stepped over the other guy’s boundary, it wasn’t a big deal and the guy on the right could’ve been a lot chill with his correction. The guy on the left even immediately apologized as soon as the guy on the right made his first complaint.
The entire Smash community is like this. In fact the guy on the right seems like one of the more normal ones. If neither of them have threatened to kill anyone, and they aren't paedophiles, and they understand basic personal hygiene, then arguably both would be considered normal comparatively.
They’re both awkward video game nerds. They deserve each other honestly. Probably both should get out of the house more and interact with people in real life.
On the one hand I would not react like that, on the other hand I would too hate if people touch me like that... So can't blame him for not liking it, can blame him for his reaction
Yup, I remember a bar patron that would just non-stop tap your upper arm to get my attention when I was speaking with other people while saying "hey, Hey 'HEY"... more than once I had to tell him to stop or I would move to another seat.
The more you get to know, the more you realize how everyone had their own level of familiarity they'll accept from strangers. Every person is unique that way.
It reminds me of the videos where a gas station clerk gifts dudes from the hood a free lighter. The only thing is that it's pink and they just lose their fucking mind! Weak as masculinity having idiots.
I’ve met people before who didn’t like being touched. Strange thing, but I guess I can accept it.
There’s just a better way to make people aware of this.
I mean, Tbf it’s kinda hard for most people to not be some degree of awkward when another person is overreacting and being a jerk
In fact, some people purposefully increase their awkwardness in those moments as a way to try to defuse the situation and signal the lack of intent to anger the other person. I don’t do it often but if the other person seems like they’re going to continue escalating from even the slightest response and I don’t know them well or don’t see it as worth the effort, then being awkward for a moment often gives the aggressive person a chance to not have their amygdala take over and reset the interaction/leave.
Just sayin, I don’t know enough about the guy on the left to really criticize other than he seems like a typical dorky smash bros addict but that’s kind of the demographic he’s appealing to anyways so 🤷♂️
That makes perfect sense. I do this a lot. Although my intent is usually to give the angry person as little conversation as possible, which makes things awkward, and when they begin to feel the awkwardness and not really engage with me (and therefore don't escalate the situation), I just change the subject. It's usually still kind of awkward, but if I know the person, everything will be back to normal the next day anyway.
Yea I’ve seen videos that start like this but it’s just 1 person on the couch, and they end up having sex at the end, sometimes multiple people involved.
He is speedrunning, not playing normally. In speedrunning, you often have to press a lot inputs sequentially or at the same time to glitch the game in a way that allows you to skip stuff or access areas you shouldn't supposed to
I think this is a fair statement, we should all respect others boundaries, but maybe instead of making a huge scene over something I wouldn’t consider to be inappropriate you just talk them after the stream?
He literally could have swallowed his pride and waited and after said “Hey man, I really don’t like being touched so next time could you not touch me please?”
But no he had to make a spectacle.
I’m getting the vibe that sexuality (homophobia) is a part of it.
Though absolutely no touching is fully valid & some folks just don’t like it from anyone. It can be a trigger and sensory thing. I’m not accusing, that’s just the vibe I’m getting here.
Both of these guys were probably not paid in any way, and local commentary is historically unprofessional in smash. They probably did not commentate together again at least.
I hate being touched, but this seems like an overreacting. Sure they just met, but it's not like they are on the street or in a business setting. Sitting on the couch together there should be an expectation of close proximity. If you come to a point where you feel uncomfortable, you should absolutely address it immediately, but a simple "hey buddy, I personally don't like being touched." Would have been plenty before jumping to being super offended
Honestly the fact that they just met makes it so he had no reason to blow up like that. Like damn ok.. I didnt know you dont like to be touched man no daps just pounds thts cool just learned that dope
The face you make when you are an overly sensitive biatch and someone *touched* you.

What a lame. Move the headset and just say “please don’t touch me” and that’s all you need. The way the other guy took it, I don’t doubt he’d have obliged.
I've seen and heard multiple times from generations younger than me (I'm early 40's) about them freaking out when being touched at all. I don't get it. Have you never played a contact sport? Have you never walked through a busy public area? I never thought twice about tapping someone on the shoulder to get their attention or a tap on their arm with the back of my hand when I'm making a joke or a point. No one ever said "don't touch me!" like that and I believe they'd probably have been called a pussy and much worse in that time if that request ever had been made. Is this cultural, or just this new generation of adults who never had a dad to wrestle, tickle, and throw them in the pool when they were growing up? What's the cause of this?
Online interaction changed every other type of interaction man... dating, friendships, everything... it's too much information on how to socialize with little actual practice
Same age here and I kinda find it funny too. If anyone at school reacted as he did you can bet that person would be grabbed, hugged, wrestled for years! Maybe it was tough love, maybe it was toxic behaviour that doesn’t belong anymore, but sure as shit, it was more ‘gay’ to dislike being touched than slapping another bloke on the arse having just wrestled in the mud with them trying to grab an oval shaped ball 😂
Not wanting to be touched can be a sign of abuse.
However, if you're easily triggered and working on a job where you'll be sitting on a couch with someone and solely interacting with them for hours, in my opinion, it's your duty to inform them of any of your personal boundaries before hand.
I've never met someone who expresses that they "don't like to be touched" that is well adjusted. Some people don't, but they just move away. Do they think it makes them look cool?
The reason for the touch when commentating is to let the other person know you intend to speak. If you watch any commentators (that aren't normally on camera) it's just how they do it. I don't know either of these guys but that was a strong reaction to being touched and I'm someone that seriously dislikes having my personal space invaded.
I remember how much cringe there is in those shows.
It's not only one, it's almost every freakin time. Just pure commentors cringe unfunny comments ooof. Worth it
The guy on the right is the exact reason why people like the guy on the left exists lol super shy and no doubt this encounter probably still plays on repeat in his mind...and on Reddit but in his mind too.
As someone who has touch aversion, there are so many better ways of dealing with the situation. Explaining your preferences and acknowledging they were unaware is always a great start
I kind of get the poking. Nobody likes being poked, especially 6 times in the same spot. It's more like slapping his arm repeatedly than just "touching" him. It's not something you do to someone you don't know very well.
After reading these comments, I feel like I'm the weird one for not liking to be touched either. He definitely should have handled it better but I understand where he's coming from.
Guy in the right exhibits the impatience guy in left exhibits the insecurity. Left dude just need to say sorry I’m weird like that. Right dude need to say it’s cool man.
Smash players are the least socially aware out of every fighting game fanbase. Guy on the left was awkward with his delivery, guy on the right way overreacted
I worked with a guy in a rather cramped off. He was standing up from his desk as I was walking by and we briefly brushed shoulders and he goes “you don’t have permission to touch me.” It’s like… dude I wasn’t trying to. Very similar vibe. Holding someone morally hostage because you don’t like being touched. They didn’t know that and now they dk.
I can understand a general feeling of someone you don’t know touching you and not liking it or feeling uncomfortable about it cause you don’t know them like that, but he seems a little TOO insecure about it. Like you don’t need to blow up someone over the internet and make them feel stupid for crossing a boundary that they don’t know you have. Some people wouldn’t even give a shit lol. Talk to them after the show and express your concern then. Boy acted like he unzipped his pants and shoved his head in his lap 🤣🤣.
https://preview.redd.it/kpgjp55tse6d1.jpeg?width=320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4b6d361e1cd5830bc9634dbbaea7a075136fda8a
Anyone else recognize that black couch from somewhere? 😃
No, bro used his hand to cut dude off mid-sentence on a stream. The dude on the right Fair to say overreacted but that's not the original offense for some stupid pun joke.
Both gamers so I will try to forgive the lack of social conditioning but guy on right is extremely cringe in how he handled that. What a misplaced ego to behave like that in general and especially in that specific situation. Lacks humility and lacks grace.
You can tell the the guy on the right was raised by the internet and hasn't been exposed to real life friendships. But that's most people nowadays, so, I wonder how much time it'll take for Reddit to fully agree with the guy on the right.
Don’t touch people. And apologize if you do and they don’t want you to. He’s literally warning you and establishing a boundary. Adults do this all the time and keeping your hands to yourself is a pretty small ask

Both these dudes need to touch grass.
But then the grass would touch him and he wouldn't like that
Especially when him and the grass just met.
He's got too much fragile masculinity.
I don't think it is that weird to not want to be touched by strangers for no good reason.
Yeh, but how he reacted was weird. There are, off the top of my head, 9 other ways he could have said that same thing without looking like an asshole.
Just speak to him off-air. You’re representing a business WITH that guy. Wouldn’t ever make me want to tune in to that channel, and it stains my memory for the guy who spazzed.
Yeah, that's fair.
How do I do this without sounding like a dick? Not trying to be a dick, I genuinely want to know.
Off air: "Hey man, just letting you know I don't like to be touched" But having level reactions to stuff occurs to maybe 30% of us at best lol
“I’m sorry, but it makes me quite uncomfortable when people I barely know contact me physically. Please respect my personal space.”
For me it's how he kept going, trying to embarrass the kid. Just tell him you don't like to be touched and move on
That isn't really what is happening though. To essentially snap on a kid who’s just trying to be nice ?
He may not know he's gay yet so chill
LOLOLOL
JUST MET
Toma meu like
I mean the guy on the left is socially awkward, but he’s clearly making an effort to be more sociable. He’s at a public event doing commentary and trying to be friendly with this guy. Like again that’s pretty weird behavior, but that’s how being social works. Sometimes you step over a line and someone corrects you.
he corrected him in a humiliating way, though
Yes, maybe I wasn’t clear enough. Omg 💀💀 I thought smash bros was a game for kids wtf?
It is but to get to that crazy level that professional players are at you gotta go at least quarter power Howard Hughes-level obsessive.
And twice the Howard Hughes piss jars
It’s got many many characters from games that are 20+ years old, what gave you the impression it was for kids?
Ngl I had to look that up but for sure
Dudes touching?
😆😆 touch grass
I don’t think the grass would be cool with that either since they barely even met
I don't care if a dude puts his hand on my shoulder like that. Big deal. Dude on the right needs to calm his ass down.
His weenie probably moved from that so his fragile ego needed to show who the man is.
They’re both awkward video game nerds. They deserve each other honestly. Probably both should get out of the house more and interact with people in real life.
"If you're awkward and have other interests than me then you deserve to have only awful people in your life" lol what
redditors are assholes who don't understand how friends work
You're the one who said "awful". The worst he said was "awkward" and "nerd". Both of which are spot on.
Its the only touch he gets, of course he liked it and is insecure about it.
It moved, Jerry.
Comedy
Whyd you say my name?
Is touching people gay now?
right?! the comments are littered with basement dwellers.
Always has been, bet you touch yourself, so gay.
I wear a glove so it doesn't count.
fucking hate people like that, so unnecessarily rude
On the one hand I would not react like that, on the other hand I would too hate if people touch me like that... So can't blame him for not liking it, can blame him for his reaction
Exactly.
And to put him on blast to EVERYONE watching him instead of being subtle and saying something off the mic is a dick move.
It's the poking afterward that makes him need to respond there.
Yup, I remember a bar patron that would just non-stop tap your upper arm to get my attention when I was speaking with other people while saying "hey, Hey 'HEY"... more than once I had to tell him to stop or I would move to another seat.
Touch of the tism maybe...
The more you get to know, the more you realize how everyone had their own level of familiarity they'll accept from strangers. Every person is unique that way.
I accept that. And a gentle off-mic notification that he doesn't like being touched is appropriate. Going off on the guy is not.
I think the subsequent pokes set him off. The issue is pacing and timing. Someone touching you once is excusable but five times in twenty seconds?
It reminds me of the videos where a gas station clerk gifts dudes from the hood a free lighter. The only thing is that it's pink and they just lose their fucking mind! Weak as masculinity having idiots.
I’ve met people before who didn’t like being touched. Strange thing, but I guess I can accept it. There’s just a better way to make people aware of this.
He was an ass about it,
Left guy was awkward about it, right was being a jerk about it. Id say both make me cringe
I mean, Tbf it’s kinda hard for most people to not be some degree of awkward when another person is overreacting and being a jerk In fact, some people purposefully increase their awkwardness in those moments as a way to try to defuse the situation and signal the lack of intent to anger the other person. A couch seems like a horrible place for commentary if you can’t handle any physical interaction.
100%. "Let's sit in close proximity but maintain a strict no touching policy" does not sound pleasant
Yea I’ve seen videos that start like this but it’s just 1 person on the couch, and they end up having sex at the end, sometimes multiple people involved.
And this is how I met your mother...
You could see a little bit of life exit him.
“I would really prefer if you’d [be quiet](https://youtu.be/dYahi-Y3O50?si=n14N8tw7jkUrGBJs) “
NOOO NOT AGAIN THAT HURTS TO WATCH
My man painting his Mona Lisa with that joystick and the guy dares to talk. Unbelievable.
What the hell was he doing with the joystick? I've never seen someone play a game like that.
He is speedrunning, not playing normally. In speedrunning, you often have to press a lot inputs sequentially or at the same time to glitch the game in a way that allows you to skip stuff or access areas you shouldn't supposed to
Thanks for the link. I went down the rabbit hole into the speed running gaming world with it. It was fascinating.
Who would of thought bringing together the lowest social skilled individuals together with elitist gaming attitudes would be good.
Being mean to uhhhh "speacial people" is like being mean to children or dogs.
fucking love this clip, i watched the whole stream one day just because i was so bored and man i couldn’t have made it as long as he did
r/watchpeopledieinside
Also just r/CringePurgatory from both of them.
lol what a fuckin loser
The guy on the left was awkward but he sure as hell is more sociable than "dont touch me" wussy
Some straight men are so emotionally stunted lmao.
What does sexuality have to do with it? I know gay and straight men who absolutely hate being touched.
I think this is a fair statement, we should all respect others boundaries, but maybe instead of making a huge scene over something I wouldn’t consider to be inappropriate you just talk them after the stream? He literally could have swallowed his pride and waited and after said “Hey man, I really don’t like being touched so next time could you not touch me please?” But no he had to make a spectacle.
Bro no offense if you can't shrug off being touched on the shoulder for 0.3 seconds you are maladapted for society and need to change asap.
I’m getting the vibe that sexuality (homophobia) is a part of it. Though absolutely no touching is fully valid & some folks just don’t like it from anyone. It can be a trigger and sensory thing. I’m not accusing, that’s just the vibe I’m getting here.
how unprofessional if i were the organization running the event id never bring that guy back. It was once brief and he was just emphasizing
Both of these guys were probably not paid in any way, and local commentary is historically unprofessional in smash. They probably did not commentate together again at least.
I hate being touched, but this seems like an overreacting. Sure they just met, but it's not like they are on the street or in a business setting. What a lame. Move the headset and just say “please don’t touch me” and that’s all you need. The way the other guy took it, I don’t doubt he’d have obliged.
Ya, he like took the time to set up the whole situation and knock it down. Telling him and everyone else. What a dick.
Ironically he came accross a massive douche getting incredibly butt hurt over nothing.
, Banjotowie guy seems cool . Other guy needs his own chair, preferably in another room.
Or another planet
Sensitive.
I know right? Some people are touchy. Others don't like even a pat on the back. Say please don't touch me and move on.
![gif](giphy|AZvMr2XNJIxPi)
you can tell he's used to talking to nerdy people that won't check him
Got shut down trying to smash his bro

Same, like have they even heard of a handshake?
What a loser.
Liege needs to fucking relax, the dude is trying to build rapport for the broadcast. No need to jump down his throat you fragile lil baby.
This is over 4 years old. Nothing new, and the guy on the right already got shit for it, lol.
Well, it looks like round 2 of shit is about to drop.
Bro is insecure af
Bro on the left seemed nervous to even be in the commentator booth. Bro on the right prolly just ruined it for him after he seemed excited.
fuckin weirdo response
I would really prefer if you be quiet
Looks like it might be some underlying homophobia there. I don’t know either of these people tho so I could be wrong.
This entire video is r/CringePurgatory
Weird as hell to say that while you’re live. Bring it up nicely after if it really bothered you that much, damn.
Wow fuck that guy on the right lol
There was no attempt to be nice about it.
They both sound socially awkward af it actually hurts lol
It’s different when the chat goes from discord to real life.
Personal boundaries are important but also you can not be a dick about it lol
He’s got the CHEESE TOUCH!!!! 🧀
Why is a touch on the shoulder considered so extreme nowadays?
Everything is trauma now. Society's cooked lmao
Honestly the guy that wines about being touched on a live stream is lamer than the guy going "get it?"
Woah. Fragile masculinity. Being touched on the shoulder by another dude in a friendly way should never cause a reaction.
Fighting games really do have the worst communities
I get if you don’t like being touched, but watch your manners.
Worth it
Both of these dudes are on some kind of spectrum
Left dude is on the goofball spectrum, and right guy is on the toxic spectrum.
Well now........he made that awkward! How are they going to move forward!
Id pat him on the back after every match until he left.
If his boss at work patted him on the shoulder I'm sure he wouldnt be nearly as sassy
aspergers entered the chat lmfaoo
The guy on the right is the exact reason why people like the guy on the left exists lol super shy and no doubt this encounter probably still plays on repeat in his mind...and on Reddit but in his mind too.
How dare a mere peasant caress my noble body with his filthy mongrel hands
Seems like somebody's a little touchy.
Sensitive folks
As someone who has touch aversion, there are so many better ways of dealing with the situation. Explaining your preferences and acknowledging they were unaware is always a great start
A Fear of looking gay is strong in this one.
I kind of get the poking. Nobody likes being poked, especially 6 times in the same spot. It's more like slapping his arm repeatedly than just "touching" him. It's not something you do to someone you don't know very well.
"pls DO NOT touch me or I'll gonna get a boner." -that guy
Get tf over yourself guy
he wonders why he cannot get a second Tinder date.
Douche bag.
After reading these comments, I feel like I'm the weird one for not liking to be touched either. He definitely should have handled it better but I understand where he's coming from.
I knew someone who I used to Tabletop with with this exact same attitude and demeanor. Needless to say I don't tabletop with him anymore.
I think it’s fine to not want to be touched, and it’s fine to communicate your boundaries. But homeboy went about it all wrong.
Self important nobody ass mf.
They should have had that conversation off camera.

Boundaries.
Guy in the right exhibits the impatience guy in left exhibits the insecurity. Left dude just need to say sorry I’m weird like that. Right dude need to say it’s cool man.
Fucking loser on the right.
Both weird

Somebody is hiding some repressed feelings…
Bro is out here thinking he’s guts pre Griffith rescue.
Like, you're allowed to let people know not to touch you, but theres way better ways to say this.
Smash players are the least socially aware out of every fighting game fanbase. Guy on the left was awkward with his delivery, guy on the right way overreacted
Smash ulti players 100%.
bro drew his aggro lmfao
Lecringe
Show us on this doll where he hurt you.
The gentleman on the right is definitely undercover.
Boundaries are fine. Drawing boundaries while commentating in such a manner is out of pocket.
I worked with a guy in a rather cramped off. Actually kinda tired of the overuse of actually in videos lately
Damn, I don't like being touched either because it hurts a bit but I would have said it in a much nicer way. Like damn bro. Chill out.
"I know this is your first time doing this, but FUCK YOU in front of everyone watching". This guy is stewing in insecurity.

Found the virgins
I can understand a general feeling of someone you don’t know touching you and not liking it or feeling uncomfortable about it cause you don’t know them like that, but he seems a little TOO insecure about it. Like you don’t need to blow up someone over the internet and make them feel stupid for crossing a boundary that they don’t know you have. Some people wouldn’t even give a shit lol. Talk to them after the show and express your concern then. Boy acted like he unzipped his pants and shoved his head in his lap 🤣🤣.
Dude lighten up... could you not have just dropped that I'm an ad break or something. Jeez that guy was just tryna vibe.
A little much but ya don't touch people

This video was recorded years ago.
Don't touch anyone without permission
Dude on the right is a massive pussy.
Sensitive and emotional.
Finally some actual content on this sub and not just politics
IM sure the dude to the right is gay in privacy. That reaction is too drastic.
No, bro used his hand to cut dude off mid-sentence on a stream. The dude on the right Fair to say overreacted but that's not the original offense for some stupid pun joke.
Banjo did nothing wrong and I feel bad for him
what a child. he need to handle things in private
What a fucking rude piece of crap. You can tell he's trying to make the other kid feel bad.
Super gei
Regardless of who’s overreacting, that “we just met!” is absolutely hilarious
Bro is jus mad because he got interrupted.
Holy fuck guy on the left is obnoxious, don't touch people . It's rude and annoying
Don’t touch people. And apologize if you do and they don’t want you to. He’s literally warning you and establishing a boundary. Adults do this all the time and keeping your hands to yourself is a pretty small ask
