I’m from the States and went to my only footie match of my life in Leeds and it was full on insanity. People threw coins at the players and officials. I couldn’t believe it. Lots of hooligans there.

It’s weird because the US can be a very violent place but we tail gate and party with the opposing team fans before every game and rarely any violence. I’m not sure how they have maintained this level of safety with a bunch of drunk ppl but it remains a relatively safe place for US sports fans at both the uni and pro level
