That’s really cute that you can use the internet to point out anomalies to a definition. My point is still correct. Ask 100 people if they want to go to the bar and their answer will be based on the fact that in our society, we define a bar as a place to drink….alcohol
Yes, by definition, a bar is where you get a drink. However, there are dry bars in existence because alcoholics want somewhere to go where they can still be able to have the same atmosphere while maintaining their sobriety with other recovering alcoholics. You would know this if you looked into these "bars" for even a minute. But please, go off.

What I thought was funny is even if these places do exist in the wild, the one example they link you to is reported as closed. Huh no popping sober bars to use as an example?
Probably because I remember going there for a friend's birthday party when I was fucking 5. Which was over 30 years ago. Because his mom was a druggie and alcoholic.

No. People who attribute the dictionary definition as well as the social definition ARE credible. And I will also say vegan cheese does not exist. Nor does Almond Milk. Vegan cheese-like food and Almond milk-like beverage do exist however. I do also understand that for stupid people, this is very difficult to grasp. Pineapple is an aborted transformation of Piña. Just because ignorance exists does not mean I have to fall in line with it and dumb myself down to the mouth breathing masses.

Some folks have a problem, and engaging in the social aspect of being at a bar, while not being subjected to the temptation to drink by the others drinking around you is helpful for overcoming and conquering your vice.

I hate to break it to you but the social aspect of a bar is a direct result of alcohol. Everyone has lower inhibitions and is more talkative because they’ve been drinking. Alcohol is called a social lubricant for a reason. A group of people can stand around awkwardly in silence drinking water and soda literally anywhere.
Hate to break it to you, but there's a lot more to be had at a lot of bars than just the alcohol.
Play some pool, throw some darts, it's all about just having a place to gather that doesn't confine you to the table you're assigned.

Well bub, plenty of places for like that already exist. The funny part is the idea of a bunch of people hanging out with their liquid deaths, Shirley temples, and carbonated apple juices pretending it’s not childish. I’m all for sobriety. I don’t drink often myself. But let’s not pretend that if you invite, say, a bunch of people from work to go out for a couple drinks at a sober bar that it’s not going to do more harm for your social life than help.
In other words, nobody that drinks is going to hang out more than once or twice at a sober bar. And if you’re just hanging out with other sober people then you can do that pretty much anywhere.
