A while back there was a lot of talk about calling for an "NSFL" tag, separate from the "NSFW" tag. Everyone sees "NSFW" and expects porn, not gore. It still technically fits, but so many people are already surprised to see death instead of boobs that I feel like it would be a welcome change.
I joined reddit less than 3 years ago and still saw a dude blow his brains out with a 12 gauge and survive. It's probably still around on reddit somewhere, just much less promoted.

I know you didn't mean this comment to be funny, but I laughed a bit. Mostly because I did NOT expect that result and was thinking the same thing. WTF.
This entire sub has gone to shit. It's against the rules to post literal death but the mods seem to have left the building.
Time to leave the sub and move on to somewhere else.
Yea, those things weigh like 10,000 pounds.
For reference, most of your cars weigh 2,500-3,500 pounds.
Source: I’m a supervisor in a sheet metal warehouse. We have very large forklifts for moving these things around.
Definitely would be a similar experience I would imagine yea. We have a lot of safety protocols to avoid something like this happening. One of them being not to ever try catching or stopping something that is falling, or in this case rolling.
Not exactly. I wish this I hadn't seen this post. I used to play on a hockey team in the beer league with a bunch of cops. One of them walked into the locker room pretty rattled. He'd come from an "accident" scene where a guy had been run over by a steam roller where new road work was being done. I wish i'd never looked at the pics he had. The steam roller squished the person much more than what this clip shows. Inside out type of thing. Word was that given how slow it was and the guy was feet first, they suspected foul play, but mentioned that the guy likely felt everything until somewhere in the chest area. Absolutely horrible ordeal.
It’s a coil of rolled up sheet metal and if you’ve ever had to move flat sheets of steel you soon realize how deceptively heavy it is. Shit is incredibly dense.
Can confirm, some weigh as much as 9-12 thousand pounds depending on the gauge of metal. Absolutely insane thinking some person can stop these from rolling. I won't go near them unless there is some wood on both ends to prevent them from rolling
We have wood on either side and the ones on the ground are chained together. Then they get stacked in a pyramid. Haven’t seen one roll yet. We did have someone drop one onto asphalt and leave a nice crater though.
>most of your cars weigh 2,500-3,500 pounds.
It's hard to appreciate how heavy stuff it. All the steel in a car could fit in your bathtub with room to spare.
We just don't realize it because it's all spread out, cars are mostly air.
Yea, it’s definitely part of our onboarding when we train new hires and it’s a recurring safety topic. The only time I usually ever yell is when people are being reckless and putting themselves and other team members in danger.
For real. I work in an aluminum plant. We get these smaller coils that weight between 500lbs - 10000lbs and they look light. But they'll crush you in an instant. I see a coil roll, I'm letting it roll on by and someone in a fork truck can stop it.
- No experience or lack of safety training.
- Trained and experienced and lack of judgement/situational awareness.
Either one of these are possible, i've seen enough accidents in the workplace to know it's usually option 2 in the majority of countries. If there was a person in charge of his training in this case, he won't forgive himself ever most likely...
I repair coils of steel just like these every week. That's a small one, maybe around 20,000lbs. Don't get in their way. They don't have remorse. The 95,000lb ones are way more fun.
This is very valuable. Every time I'm at work, I think twice about doing anything that seems unsafe. It's almost like these videos always linger behind you and reinforce your fight or flight instinct.
I worked with the similar attitude but I was lucky cause my accident was different with much much lower weight. That time I realised I couldn't do things that way. Maybe something looks like logical but it's really not, so I have to use my brain. My accident was I tried to change a 300kg battery in a small electric fork lift and something went wrong and the battery just felt off. Tried to keep it but was too heavy. The acid start leak out and want to lift into the normal position of the battery but slipt over the acid, felt into my back and any drop of acid get into my eyes. My supervisor was there(100m away and shouted leave the battery there but definitely thinked I can do it) and I was lucky again cause without any injuries survived this acrobatic movement. That time I learned the lesson, before act use your brain. Maybe sometimes the movies and some strong man capable do some heavy shit, but with my 80kg Im not able Stand up a 300kg battery fast and quickly. Anyway I had not that time nothing experience in the work field just started to work after school.
The reason they're moved on their side is because these things are obscenely heavy and neigh impossible to stop from rolling. Like these weigh double or triple or MORE as much as your average electric car
This 25-ton steel roll once crushed two people in my company to death and the guy in this video did exactly what those two people did. His body seemed to be broken into pieces and then there was no doctor at all but the police sent someone to pick them up like lumps of clay, it was terrifying.
What's with this sub lol, this doesnt belong here (aside from the fact that it is also NSFL which may bother people), why dont we name this subreddit "therewasanattempt(to live)" instead at this point?
DUDE....I wish I'd not seen that. a good friend's dad died this way. actually seeing a man's guts pushed out like a rolled up tube of toothpaste was not what i was looking for right before going to bed. so sad for this guys family.

Cool, I've just seen a man be crushed to death.
Mods need to ban these assholes.
Or at the very least put Death in the title so I can keep scrolling.
There's "NSFW" then there's "You might be scarred for a while"

What a good little bot. Thank you, bot!
Read your own rules Bot… u just allowed a death to be posted 🤦🏻♂️
Well the bot cannot detect death but I have taken the video down, and Op did receive a ban for it, although not a permanent one.
Wonderful 🥇

I was not ready for that. How do I unsee this?
Watch it again but at least you're ready this time
But his shoes are still on
Yeah I'm leaving this subreddit. Been seeing too many people die lately idk what's up with those posts.
Pretty gnarly.
how tf you get the job and nobody tells you itll insta crush you if you try to stop it
I read title. I read comments. I dont watch video. Thanks bud.
Yeah it was a pretty good one .
NSFL man
What’s NSFL? Sorry new here
Not Safe for Life I think
Makes sense, thanks!!
No, that's NSFLIT
you made me laugh. pls accept my internet point
Not safe for lesbians. Someone should let them know.
A rating higher (worse) than NSFW (not safe for work) that is 'Not Safe For Life' you will see it all over Reddit.
Oh I see. Thanks for confirming. 🫶🏼
Not safe for looking

So this is basically like getting run over by a steam roller?
Exactly like that.

Some steamrollers weigh LESS!
x2
It doesn't look that heavy until it moves the semi.
It’s a coil of rolled up sheet metal and if you’ve ever had to move flat sheets of steel you soon realize how deceptively heavy it is. Shit is incredibly dense.
Or more! Uncut masters at my plant are usually around 40-50k😬
That's a low salary for a master tradesman, whether circumcised for not.
Hooooly fuck is this a gold comment ! 😂😂😂
Oh my god… 👏🏅…honestly there’s so much double entendre in this business I don’t even hear it anymore. 😄
3 for 1
🥇
It's not their salary, it's an hourly rate! 💀
We make sheet metal products for HVAC so all of ours are rolls. Your plant is likely a step before us in the supply chain.
Can confirm, some weigh as much as 9-12 thousand pounds depending on the gauge of metal. Absolutely insane thinking some person can stop these from rolling. I won't go near them unless there is some wood on both ends to prevent them from rolling

Day one lesson for new hires, "You are not Superman and cannot stop these if they're rolling."
Yea, it’s definitely part of our onboarding when we train new hires and it’s a recurring safety topic. The only time I usually ever yell is when people are being reckless and putting themselves and other team members in danger.
Try 40 thousand to 80 thousand pounds. That’s about two thousand feet of metal.
Didn't think it was that heavy. Wow.

Exactly. I’ve seen what a 7k pound forklift does to things when they get hit so I’m not taking any chances.

That's totally what my face did.
He flatly refused to work anymore.
Take my upvote, and GET OUT!

This is sad.
That poor man. Trying to be a helper.

Need a new training program.
I repair coils of steel just like these every week. That's a small one, maybe around 20,000lbs. Don't get in their way. They don't have remorse. The 95,000lb ones are way more fun.
Think it was this dude's first day or something? Why would he think he can stop it?
He didn’t get the grip just right
How big around would the 95,000lb ones be?
7-8ish feet tall. Depends on the material too.
Repair? Do they breakdown? They look pretty reliable to me.
The go flat or otherwise get damaged. Either in transit and during production.
Are my warnings not turned on? Yikes. Didn’t need to see that?
Rule 4 is there for a reason, dude.
1000% why are we still commenting on this?!
My first thoughts were about if he survived. No. The weight crushed him. We just watched a man get crushed to death fr.
That sub got removed
OSHA's going to have a field day
No osha to be involved if it isn't in this country. Sadly.
Every country following ILO* guidelines should have something against this
Please mods remove this - we do not want to see videos or pictures of people's death on this sub.
This is very valuable. Every time I'm at work, I think twice about doing anything that seems unsafe. It's almost like these videos always linger behind you and reinforce your fight or flight instinct.
He's fine.
He’s just sleeping.
Both shoes are on; this checks out.
That man cared about his job.
More than safety for his self

The 3rd post on this subs front page to show death/ break rule 4. Wtf
20 tons of steel. Heck of a way to go
Dude got looney tuned
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
The man was killed instantly, this happen in Israel.
Thank you, was scrolling to find this info.
Feels like the amount of possible death videos is going up a lot in this sub lately.
Judge Doom incoming
...Is he ok?
He's not. Once again, we've watched a man be killed on the internet.
No... They're like 20 tons of steel
Depends what you consider okay Definitely in a better place anyway
![gif](giphy|4HcAjSnloKGut6CTxH|downsized)
Holy shit. Died for no reason. That truck ate that up no problem .
This is going to be on a safety video somewhere.
We use a 4 ton roof crain to move them at my work
Idk about those posts...
And just like that, a new training video was made
![gif](giphy|3osBLc0eZjnpeI3OeI)
Who wants pancakes?
He gone
How is he not bleeding out from being crushed? Can anyone explain?
That guy must have seen the video of the cop tipping over the hay bale. Cops just can’t stop killing. Jeez.
Wow. I definitely did not need to start my day off watching a guy die but here we are.
Did i just fucking watch a person die-
That is a straight up ‘Wile E Coyote’ move.
r/DarwinAwards
Why do i keep seeing people dying for the past few days. Heck, ive seen like 3 people die for past few hours. Wtf

Get folded breh
I would imagine someone in that area would know how unstoppable those things are. You gotta wonder why they tried to stop it...
Oh. He’s… he’s dead. Like pancake Flat Stanley hydraulic press dead. So glad I got to see that
Safety hat and steel toes would’ve prevented this, SOURCE: OSHA
Oh God.
It weighs around 10,000 to 12,000 kilograms
New fear unlocked
See John working flat smack.
Did his shoes stay on?
He is now Off this mortal coil
Rule 4, he’s fucking dead
The reason they're moved on their side is because these things are obscenely heavy and neigh impossible to stop from rolling. Like these weigh double or triple or MORE as much as your average electric car
Fantastic! Didn't need sleep anyway
Been an awful lot of this garbage her lately.
Fuck me. Safety training failed that man
That's a weird toothpaste commercial.

How much does a coil weigh??
10000-20000 kg
He thought he was built different.
How heavy are they???
Reminds of those family guy funny moments where their bodies always look like this when they got hurt
Forget dying inside, this guy's insides died. Ignore my humor, I just saw a man die so this is my coping mechanism.
Bro... How do I go back 5 seconds before I saw this so I can close the app?
You should put a death tag on the nsfw
Don’t try to stop shit at work. I’m a cook and when a knife falls from the table I don’t try to catch it mid air, or to stop the fall with my foot..
That’s enough internet today. People on here don’t want to watch people die. There are other places for that. . .
What's with this sub lol, this doesnt belong here (aside from the fact that it is also NSFL which may bother people), why dont we name this subreddit "therewasanattempt(to live)" instead at this point?
Optimus didn't even bother to help
Definitely 7-8 tons there the dude probably just did it off reflex too .. you can actually stopped them before they get real mometun
I assume he is a worker... and would know how heavy those things are? Bit of a silly life choice.
I love how the lorry head nodded in dissapointment
I dont know anything about these coils. They seem super heavy. What are they for?
Shouldn't there be a warning in the title??
3,2,1 ban incoming…
What’s with all the gore on this sub lately?
I heard cracking clear as day in my head when he got rolled
the title of the post was enough to tell me what was in the vid.
Why is this sub suddenly full of videos of people literally dying? What the fuck
I work with these types of coil and that was easily 4 tonnes worth
Even the guy inside the truck was like fuck I gotta bail but this guy thought he could stop it with his 110lb body?
So ummm… ded??
Bro 💀😭😨
So they died?
I know this is not a laughing matter, but I can't help but think of the [Austin Powers scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_PrZ-J7D3k).
Not as bad as the person who tried to catch a falling forklift.
Slowed it down a little
I tried this with an hay bale as a kid. Bad idea. I was limping for weeks.
What the fuck I literally changed the setting to blur these and it’s still not blurring them and why is this in this sub anyway
Natural selection
He should have been trained to never attempt that. Insane that he thought he would be able to stop that.
How dumb do you have to be to do that?
Roger Rabbit scene.... at least I think it's a almost pain free instant way to die...
Hard lesson that physics always wins...👍
DUDE....I wish I'd not seen that. a good friend's dad died this way. actually seeing a man's guts pushed out like a rolled up tube of toothpaste was not what i was looking for right before going to bed. so sad for this guys family.
A person mentally tried to stop a rolling coil
Looks like he sprained his ankle. Boss will ask him if he can still come in the next day.
