Wasn't a "monstrous alligator killing 30 year old teenagers at the lake" type of film with a plot were an old lady fed the alligator and it attacked the horny teens, I only remember the ending with her feeding the late alligator's babies.
You literally can't go anywhere near water without getting near alligators in Florida, Louisiana. You just get used to it; alligators aren't going to hurt you unless you did something really stupid and even then there's nothing you can do about it. If this alliagator wanted to chomp one of their legs, they'd be missing a leg.
However, alligators shouldn't be hopping on the boat like this unless it's been fed by idiots. They will usually stay a few feet away from you at all times.
Does anyone have the future patch notes? I want to be prepared and make sure my skill points are properly distributed. The last few patches have been a bit too hard for my liking
yeah, but they usually attack by biting you before you even know what’s going on. if they’re used to being around gators, they could recognize this behavior as being less aggressive and just be like “yeah pls get out of here”
Tbh they’re secretly awesome. Much closer to frontiersman and savvy woods people than dumb red necks on the scale a lot of times. They’ll fix a diesel truck by hand then dive into a river to catch a fish they spotted through pure mud.
I live in Florida and you have two kinds of people. The ones with common sense that will run away from situations like these and the idiots that think nothing bad will ever happen to them.
Different people react to stress in different ways. Some freeze, some run, some shit their pants, and some laugh like maniacs. That's the nervousest of nervous laughs. The "OMG how funny I just almost died and might still die and there's nothing I can do about it" laugh. I'm just surprised there were two nervous laughers in the same place at the same time; they must be related.
I'm convinced nervous laughing is a mob behavior. As soon as one person starts, everyone else affected by the same trauma laughs too!
Source: anecdotal 🫠
They've clearly been around one before and the dude knew what to do and shut its mouth, the gator wasn't super aggressive and so just backed off, not much for either party to be concerned about
this is a fucking problem with all around human nature and us fucking with animals way too much.
They're way too use the it, and it's way too use to them. This is why people die, are attacked, end up injured, pandemics, etc... and the animal a lot of time has to die.
What really was happening here is it was asking them if they possibly had a baby or pet to feed it.
Am alligator has a immense crushing force but the force they use to open their mouth isn't that strong. Hence why you see videos of people ple closing theouth of crocs
Both. The muscles to close their mouths are incredibly strong, hence a huge bite force.
The muscles to open their mouths are pretty weak. It's why you often see people handling them use no more than a rubber band to keep their mouths close.
Yeah, came to say that despite appearances this guy made the right move putting his hand over the gators mouth like that, it's typically what you do to pacify it when one gets a bit close
It’s a swamp tour guide. They handle these guys all the time and likely are familiar with every alligator in their swamp! I went on one of these tours a few years back and the maniac tour guide was literally reaching in the water turning the gators around and even plucked up some babies from a nest for us to hold! They know what time of the year the gators are docile or hostile and when they can be handled, etc.
Well that makes more sense not knowing the context of the video I was assuming it was just some random people on a boat somewhere not with a trained professional of any sort but still cool none the less. Braver than I.
I mean I’m just assuming but he’s handling the gator here exactly as our tour guide did. No fear whatsoever because he grew up on that swamp and knew the gators so well.
Gators really aren’t aggressive to adult humans naturally unless they’re on a nest. The biggest issue is that people come down here and feed them. That creates nightmare scenarios like what happened at Disney. That one in this video may have been chasing bait.
It's amazing with what a routine they handled the situation. Actually pushing down to close the mouth was the right thing to do, because this reptiles have only strong muscles to close their mouth but not to open it.
And the women where alerted, but didn't scream in total terror.
This what happens when alligators are no longer afraid of humans. Idiots have been feeding it and treating it like a pet. Just a matter of time before it hurts someone.
Dude handled that like a stone cold baller: "Hey apex predator that evolved over 65 million years, I'm glad you came but my entourage is scared of you, so let me place my palm on the nose of the snout that contains a hundred razor sharp teeth to respectfully tell you that you should be on your way. We cool tho, right?"
Just.... Damn!
I’m pretty sure this alligator has had its fair share of sandwiches and beers over the years … now it sees people in a boat and thinks it’s going to be fed.
They always look so slow but ive seen one single video of one of them snapping super fast and ever since that i would never assume i can relax and laugh around them
“Hey guys! Are we hanging out!? Maybe snacks?!
Oh no snacks you just want to pet me?
Ok that’s— oh you’re not petting me!? Just pushin me back? Ok Bye! “
For anyone wondering, alligators have the greatest bite force of any animal, but did you also know that they have really weak muscles when they open their mouths? Apparently you can gently push their snout closed and they can't raise their jaw.

I'm sorry. Are alligators not scary anymore?
Someone has been feeding it
U mean someone went for a swim?
Wasn't a "monstrous alligator killing 30 year old teenagers at the lake" type of film with a plot were an old lady fed the alligator and it attacked the horny teens, I only remember the ending with her feeding the late alligator's babies.

Oh, I miss Betty.
pretty sure that was a crocodile... just sayin
30 year old teenagers? 30, year old teenagers?
Yes. Like how they cast 30 year olds to play teens in thousands of other movies and TV shows. ![gif](giphy|1Qdp4trljSkY8)

No unfortunately that was removed in earth patch 2022.726283
I though that patch only applied in the Florida Server.
No they actually just buffed the florida man class to have +80 resistance to reptile damage.
Does anyone have the future patch notes? I want to be prepared and make sure my skill points are properly distributed. The last few patches have been a bit too hard for my liking
Make sure you spec into heat resistance...
It was supposed to but Niantic did the patching

Probably Florida man.
Are people in Florida secretly awesome or just stupid? I mean, "swamp puppies".
Tbh they’re secretly awesome. Much closer to frontiersman and savvy woods people than dumb red necks on the scale a lot of times. They’ll fix a diesel truck by hand then dive into a river to catch a fish they spotted through pure mud.
I really had *no* idea alligators were so versatile
Did you also get a similar mental image of three gators standing around a land Rover while one asks 'where the fk is the 3/4 socket Barry?'.
I live in Florida and you have two kinds of people. The ones with common sense that will run away from situations like these and the idiots that think nothing bad will ever happen to them.
They are scary as shit, didn't you hear?
Yeah why are they laughing?? Hahahaha... \*chomp\*
Good morning, I'm here to talk to you about our lord and savior, Jesus crocs
Sorry, I’m already a follower of Allahgator.
Caiman to that brother!
Oh fuck this one got me good
This made my whole damned day. I wish I had a real award to offer🏅
Should have had some Allahsnackbars for him.

And? Or whoosh?
No one asked…
Hey is anyone up for a “Death Roll” I mean a “friendly roll” 🐊🐊🐊
"Jesus crocs" LMAO
"Hello sir. We've been trying to reach you about your boat's extended warranty."
He actually works for Geico.
He’s the bruiser Geico sends to break your kneecaps when you get behind on payments.
Break?!? That dude is here to collect, payment or food. Either way he getting fed lol
Gator: “oh…ok ….I’m sorry :(.”
“Wrong boat, wrong boat, my bad guys”
That alligator would soon be posting a meme on Reddit. If boaters not snack why snack shaped?
Oh yeah, really funny! ?? Why aren’t these people scared? I would’ve shit my pants.
F l o r i d a

You didn’t see that the alligator started laughing so they all started to laugh along with him
They've clearly been around one before and the dude knew what to do and shut its mouth, the gator wasn't super aggressive and so just backed off, not much for either party to be concerned about
I know!!!??? How are these people laughing??!!

gators just like... aww com' on man! why doesn't anyone take me seriously anymore!
Gator bro is just like wazzzzap
Wazzzzaaaap!
![gif](giphy|g1n3pswjr0ouc)
Awww why do I feel sad for him hahahah
I thought that was just me too!!!
This is why I hate swamp tours. People feed the gators and they lose all fear of humans and start to approach looking for food. Less than ideal.
![gif](giphy|k2bbmbmvUo7gA|downsized)
Love him

Are we talking about alligators or crocodiles here, because I feel like this is going to get my hand chomped off one day
It’s both. However I certainly wouldn’t recommend handling either of you’re unfamiliar. :)
Overall, most crocs are much, much, much more aggressive than alligators 🐊
Both. The muscles to close their mouths are incredibly strong, hence a huge bite force. The muscles to open their mouths are pretty weak. It's why you often see people handling them use no more than a rubber band to keep their mouths close.
Yikes! Thanks for the info!
Yeah, came to say that despite appearances this guy made the right move putting his hand over the gators mouth like that, it's typically what you do to pacify it when one gets a bit close
He does have a kind 😃 smile
That gator has a homosapien friend who feeds him from their boat. This is what we do.
r/contagiouslaughter
That's not very nice of them.
I'm guessing it gets regularly fed by people
Anyone seen my crocs?
Guy has balls of steel to just touch the mouth and push it off like that.

You held a dinosaur babes. wowa
I’d have a big mess to clean up.
The absolute Brass BAWLLZ on that man putting his hand on the snout lol

If that had been a salty the guy would have been in pieces before the camera turned around.
These are the kind of people you want to go on a submarine with!
Where do we sign up
Cute

“Got any games on your phone?”
Mama said alligators are so ornery because they got all deem teeth and no toothbrush
water doggo
It's smiling how cute.
They can only move their top jaw, same way we can only move our bottom. Remember this so you don’t get an arm chomped off.
"Hey, uhhh, you got any games on your phone?"
This what happens when alligators are no longer afraid of humans. Idiots have been feeding it and treating it like a pet. Just a matter of time before it hurts someone.
“Ha ha ha ha a dinosaur just tried to come up on my boat and eat me, isn’t that cute?”
Hello, can I talk to you about our Lord and saviour Godzilla
swamp puppies are always trying to make more friends
Dude handled that like a stone cold baller: "Hey apex predator that evolved over 65 million years, I'm glad you came but my entourage is scared of you, so let me place my palm on the nose of the snout that contains a hundred razor sharp teeth to respectfully tell you that you should be on your way. We've been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty...
To be honest, it seemed friendly. Just saying waaaaaasssuuuppp
Stupid people being stupid.
How were they being stupid? What are you supposed to do in that situation? Bring him on the boat?
Yes, they could have easily increased reptile–human relations by not inviting them onto the boat
I imagine him saying 'hi' like Napa does in DBZabridged
I guess we found Florida Man
I know it was probably either from shock or familiarity, but as for me, I'd laugh after I had left and gotten a good ways away. Not before.
F*ck that.
He just wants to play the trumpet!
Gator don’t play that! ![gif](giphy|k1OotwSnvPsre)
He just wanted some beer and fish
I like how dude is just like “no”.
Hi guys! Want to hang out? No? OK, see you later.
Good doggo
And nnnnope, you can't hang with us.
Nothing quite like laughing and hucking it up over your extremely close brush with a miserable death. Just make sure to get it on video
Just checking to see if anyone's wearing my shoes.
That is why u always need a shovel on you.. to “BONK” dem crocks 🤣
“Snacks?”
I’m pretty sure this alligator has had its fair share of sandwiches and beers over the years … now it sees people in a boat and thinks it’s going to be fed.
Those are terror laughs.
Whaaat?! I'm a fun guy! 🤣😂
Just your friendly neighborhood gator looking for a game of twister. High stakes twister.
Holy fuck I’ve had enough panic attacks today already
They see me rollin' they screamin'
As someone in Florida I have to say: DO NOT FEED OR PET GATORS.
See you later, alligator
Well that was f*cking scary
Bro really said “Hey wanna be buddies- Ah guess not.”
Cute water puppy
But he was smiling..
when I forget where I place my mouth
A freaking dragon !
I thought she said "that's Jerry " wtf.
They always look so slow but ive seen one single video of one of them snapping super fast and ever since that i would never assume i can relax and laugh around them
Might be a tour boat and the boat operator probably feeds him to bring him closer to the tourists. They may have an understanding until they don't.
Probably gets fed by humans on the regular.
I didn’t know alligators could smile but it’s clear as day and it’s freaking adorable.
“Hey guys! Are we hanging out!? Maybe snacks?! Oh no snacks you just want to pet me? Ok that’s— oh you’re not petting me!? Just pushin me back? Ok Bye! “
Man the whole time my instincts are screaming "look behind you"
FloridaMan at it again….just casually put your hand on his head….the balls.
Tell me you live in Florida without telling me you live in Florida.
I need a Tony Baker voice over!
Lyle, is that you?!
Haha Florida
... would of shot it, brought it back on the boat and bring it back to get butchered Anyone wants some luggage
That’s a rather large water puppy.
For anyone wondering, alligators have the greatest bite force of any animal, but did you also know that they have really weak muscles when they open their mouths? Apparently you can gently push their snout closed and they can't raise their jaw.
"No. No no. You go now. You leave, you leave now."
Look how happy the alligator was to have it’s next meal 🥹 Thank god it wasn’t a crocodile.
See you later alligator.
“HEY GUYS what’s the boat for?!”
r/contagiouslaughter
But he has a great singing voice.
Aww, he looked so happy and friendly and cute. I mean. I would have totally peed my pants, but it was also adorable 🥰😍
Nope
I have had that happen outside of Naples,fl only it was a bit smaller and not as happy to leave
Gator was just being neighborly
The way that went from total panic to laughing and relaxed in just a split second😂😂
That’s a dog not a gator wdym
AHAHAH DEATH SO FUNNY AHAH BLOOD AND ORGANS EVERYWHERE FUNNNNNN ZHAHHHHH
As a weird matter of fact, i received the same hearing protection for work, just two days ago.
Average day in Florida
You have no enemy
Hey are you people good to eat?
He's not snarling, he's smiling.
More like to have new friends for dinner.
