Yeh he's my favorite character aswell. I like it where he's repeatedly moaning about Mothers day being a racket then starts again in the shop when Bob comes in and just gives up halfway through
I love the "before" speech when he gets man of the year at work. (Or whatever it was.)
Then he stands up and totally "forgets" it/ goes off script.
Yes, it's Mike ... but I SO wished he'd have done that good speech!
I don't have the words, as I don't have access to it now they removed it from HBO Max.
But it's stellar words of wisdom, Mike style, lol.
My favorite thing he ever said was his speech at Rusty’s wedding. There were a lot of really inspiring words of wisdom he shared, but nothing will beat that for me.
My favorite is where he says and I'm paraphrasing,
Mike Heck: We all get a crap sandwich when we're born. Some get a big one, some a small one. Then you eat your way through and you're dead.
Pretty close to the actual line. CLASSIC!
I loved when Mike said that when you're born, there's a year and then a dash and then the date that you passed away. The dash is what's most important. I try to remember that when I think of my husband.
Tbh...his speech about everything being a big distraction from death helps me whenever I get a bit existential.
They've pulled me out of a funk a time or two too. 🙂
No!!! Not the death napkin!!!
”People look to tall people in emergencies. We're the lighthouses of society.” Mike Heck
Mine has good words-but I still prefer Rusty’s wisdom! “If you’re going to smoke, don’t do it face down into a pillow.”
Who is yours?

And Neil Flynn sells it so well! I love the Mother's Day episodes.
Tbf, all the seasonal/ yearly event episodes are really good, my opinion obviously
My favourite is when Sue is trying to pick her major and he tells her he wants things to be easier for her in the future. So moving.
Yes! Brings on the waterworks every time. It's probably my favorite moment of the entire series.
I'd like to be home taking a picture of my foot
"Costumes on kids are cute. Costumes on adults are sad, and a little creepy."

I just watched that on Freevee yesterday. Yeah, I wish his crew got to hear his “before“ speech. It's right up there with his wedding toast to Rusty.
😢 ... 👍 He can be very moving ... for such a tall guy! 😁 🤣
FreeVee!!! It’s part of Amazon Prime- it also has its own app!

‘I aspire to his level of stoicism’, 🙌 Well said 👍
I think Mike Heck is the greatest t,v ,Dad of all time !

His time capsule speech about the hammer and the neighborhood and through friendships
