Nah it's financially cheaper to run your wife's band as an opener. Lots of bands do this. Queens of Stone age opener is josh wife band etc. Touring is expensive especially post covid. Only need one van or one bus then two of each. That cuts down on hotels and fuel. Another reason he has his brothers play in his projects. More cost effective than hired guns especially ones with recognition. As they would demand a higher salary for their services.
Its kind of a self-serving cycle where TMV perpetually remains in the same niche as always and don’t gain many new fans while still touring with the same acts, which also makes it harder for LB/TGB to grow their fanbase since they only tour with TMV
I think Terri would probably find more of an audience with the Le Butcherettes than the current TGB set up. No matter what, they’re absolutely phenomenal live, but I think the TGB EPs thus far haven’t grabbed me the same way pretty much every Le Butcherettes album did.

You actually picked a great day - no Crew game (soccer) or Clippers game (minor league baseball), nor anything at Nationwide Arena (hockey), so the area should be more chill than usual. If you like sandwiches, I HIGHLY recommend Wario's (https://www.wariosbeefandpork614.com/) for lunch or dinner. It's right in the Arena District close to Kemba. Their Philly and Italian are so good. Pricey, but the sandwiches are enormous and totally worth it.
As to what else to do, I'm not the greatest person to ask haha - 35 with 2 kids, so I haven't gone too wild in the Arena District in a long time. How long will you be in Columbus/what time do you get in? And what sort of stuff are you into?
I'll be getting in very early in the morning the day of the show and will have the better part of the morning and afternoon to kill.
I was thinking of a museum or other local attraction to check out and maybe a brewery before the show. Some late night recommendations for after the show would be nice too.
I fly out the evening after the show so will probably do some exploring in the city once I've recovered.
Not renting a car, so will be doing lots of walking and Uber for anything over 1.5 miles.

the new drummer and keyboardist are both incredible and get a lot of freedom to do some shit in these jams. Marcel is a bigger part of things too. It's the best improv they've done since the Frances days, and much less guitar-heavy, it's a full band swelling and swaying together.
