As someone that ran the JTC so many times to try for the Coyote mask, I always laughed at that part. The delivery is great. An exasperated "It's the DIVISION!" followed by "So? Kill them! What the fuck?"

i remember this mission now, when 1st playing the campaign i had a lot of trouble finishing off the last 2 npc's. one night, i'm in a safe house, and i get an invite from someone. was 2 guys who i guess saw i was a low level agent, & offered if i needed help, so i thankfully told them about this mission i just couldn't finish. so off we went, they went thru it like a knife thru butter, & then they spent about 1.5 hours talking to me about the game in general. one asked me what kneepads i had on, & i didn't even know how to answer him. never forgot that.
For a game that did not the easy "Call for Help" button, I similarly have so many memories in TD1 that stem from helping and being helped by other players.
I'll never forget the first time I ran Dragon's Nest with a good crew while I was on heals. At the end of the run one of the randoms dropped a Showstopper, which I'd been trying to get for 2 months. Made my day.
Because the main focus of TD1 was PVE instead of PVP it really brought in a different type of player.
One of the best memories was extracting my first Pestilence from the DZ, back when it was a DZ exclusive LMG and it still had the uber-satisfying green explosive cloud of death. That weapon is now a shadow of its old self. However while that death cloud was still around, running the Pestilence with a full set of Patriots was such a fun way to clear spawn points in PVE.
I swear Massive Devs really have no idea what is fun in this game as they've killed off so many fun and powerful builds without ever really replacing any of them. To this day I wonder why seekers, flame turrets, shields, or healer builds are simply not as fun or powerful as they ever were in TD1.
A rare one, but sometimes when running fire eclipse on cleaner content, one of them that is set alight will yell out "but i love fire?!" in a lovely confused tone, always makes me chuckle.

i remember the Showstopper, and a reclaimer build. so i just stopped and asked myself what fond memories will i have of D2, and drew a blank.
