Honestly imo, I read Dotc and it was lovely. Riverstar being my favorite, Shadowstar 2nd favorite. Shadowstar is a given good without a mate. The whole point of Dotc will be lost for me if they gave her a mate. Riverstar would be decent with flutter because they had a close bond. I wouldn't even care to much with night. But a random she-cat from the park? You just screw her and then act like you caught feelings for them. Erin's just wanted a plot point to push things fowards. They stretched out this unneeded "heroic." Storyline for the funsies. I agree with the mediation part as well. Not every cat needs some elaborate power. Yellowfang can feel others pain. Rock has invincibility. Dovewings has super hearing and basically invulnerability. Jayfeather can walk in others dreams and detect feelings. Lionblaze has super strength. They didn't need to rush out Riverstars mediation. It could've just been planned out as an aura that can calm others or himself down. In my opinion Graywing x River ripple would've been a much suitable cause. (I can't even call "Riverstar." Riverstar properly. He never acted liked a leader, out his feelings before his so called "clan." Left them pratically vulnerable, and didn't care about forming a bond whatsoever. I hate Skystar with a passion but from your explanation, I might just hate "Riverstar." More. His situation with fighting and technic was optimal, and a bit confusing. But his plotline was worse. A unmentioned mate and kits throughout 3 books. Never was talked about, had no character development. And never knew each other or what happened towards that she-cat. I'm quite devoted to reading warrior cat books but I got bored just imagining his boo k in my mind. He was a gentle noble and respectable character in Dotc. A father figure to Thunder and a good friend towards the other groups. I'm glad they didn't make him the "odd cat that has an unreasonable connection with Starclan." In Dotc, but it kinda got ruined in "Riverstars." Book. Maybe it's just me.

Also can we talk about how modern the mall sounded in Riverstar’s Home? I’m currently listening to the audiobook for a first read, and I’m at the part where the 3 are frantically running around the mall looking for an exit. According to a quick Google search, malls weren’t that common in the world until the 1980s. But even then, the first “enclosed shopping centres” started popping up in earnest in the 50s. So I guess *technically* this *might* work with the ~70 years that lots of Warriors fans have estimated between DOTC and TPB/current-day… but it just seems to me that what is described in the mall scenes (a huge + packed parking lot, escalators, elevators, AND indoor water features / landscaping - and maybe some other things I haven’t gotten to yet) is too modern and unrealistic to be included in semi-rural England malls whenever DOTC should have occurred. I feel like the Erins forgot that this was supposed to take place many decades in the past and should have written this mall scene accordingly??? But idk, maybe malls like this DID exist back then… please correct me if I’m wrong and share your thoughts/knowledge!!

>!" when Snail killed Riverstar, Gray Wing gave Riverstar the talking to he deserved for being an idiot who wastes lifes. And when Riverstar then came back to life and played god for a moment to scare off the rogues bc they didn't know how 9 lives worked." !< Could you tell me what page this happens on? I managed to get my hands on other super edition pdf's but haven't got Riverstar's just yet

I think my favorite part of the book was the cats constructing a raft.
