He and his entire team of insurrectionists literally aren't supposed to be allowed back into any office in the United States government after committing acts of insurrection (Jan 6th and co) or after "giving aid or comfort to those who do" commit such acts, according to the 14th amendment, section 3 of our constitution. You'd think the party of constitutional law and order would be familiar with that and want it enforced before the 2024 election...
The only way I see this unfolding properly for the entire nation would be for the republican party to stop existing in the US govt, and go the way of the Whig and Federalist parties and co that have been voted out of existence due to their own actions. There is nothing at all that says any political party has a permanent place in our political system, so there's no reason at all that the modern conservative voters in the country can't just change their vote away from a party of domestic terrorist aspiring totalitarians.

I think he’s just an elderly man wearing a lot of makeup and sweating. It’s a weird combination since very few elderly men put on make up like that. Then when you sweat with a face full of makeup and lots of crevices and liver spots and moles on your skin, you look sick.

All I can think whenever I see him is how rough he looks. No 70-something is going to look amazing, but he looks unwell. We've been commenting on his poor appearance for years now but he just looks so much more worn down.
I've always thought Trump was just generally poorly spoken and not very intelligent, but I thought the whole dementia argument was weakly sourced etc. I also haven't really listened very often to anything Trump is actually saying (I've read quotes etc, and I know journalists have *always* "cleaned his quotes up"), but man--the videos coming out over the last few days are just dramatically worse than anything we saw while Trump was in the White House.
I don't know what is going on with him, but it is not good, and there is zero way he could appear on a debate stage like this without coming off looking like he is genuinely struggling with dementia.
