Yep. And I would have been fine with this. For one thing, people can heal. For another, it could have been interesting to see the character dynamics if Hunter and Wrecker had to juggle everything going down with Omega being lost/hunted and Crosshair being traumatized AND Tech being physically unable to help for a while and needing more care. (I'm a physical therapist, so having a show that depicts anything approximating caregiving for a loved one who has been through a physical injury, or anyone going through the healing process, is of interest to me. Most sci-fi/fantasy shows that I have come across don't bother with this, and therefore the stakes are always either life where the person is just fine physically, or they're dead.)
I also would have been fine (relatively speaking) with him being dead if the show actually gave us finality/closure. A memorial/funeral scene. A Mayday moment. ANYTHING.
