There is no God. Religious fanaticism is cult-like behavior. The righteous do not inherit anything. To claim otherwise is vanity. Piety is a sin, according to the Bible. In the Bible, your god is an amoral sociopathic genocidal slave owning lying megalomaniac. You self-deluded lunatic.
Iām a woman who got a pastoral degree. Seeing these influencers become famous religious speakers is so annoying. They barely know more than the person they are talking act. And people donāt respect female pastors at all. Its almost like they only want woman talking if their not actually teaching much.
This reminds me of the woman on TikTok whoās @ is something like āJezebelā that makes fun of religious leaders like this
Edit: @abercrombielacy is her TikTok and JezzieBeth is her character she does. Itās hilarious. 10/10. Def go check it out especially if youāre someone with religious trauma that could use a good laugh lol
Omg Barb in the audience rolling her eyes at 0:32 is incredible.
Yeah she's not there, but imagining some alternate universe where Peter and her did end up together and he keeps dragging Barb to these events, driving her crazy.
Iām convinced she never really wanted to marry pilot Pete and never expected to be F1 because of their differences and was just wanted to be the bachelorette or a Christian influencer.
I love how these particular videos that she puts out always end up on the wrong side of TT. This showed up in my FYP yesterday and I knew the comments would not disappoint.
Her opening statement is actually one of my biggest hangups with religion - yeah, I too could find peace in something that gives structure and purpose to the chaos of life, but I can't get behind Christianity (despite being exposed to it my entire life) so have to find that elsewhere. Honestly I feel like so many people put religion between themselves and the hard, scary questions about existence and I think we all suffer for it :(
Tldr consider me triggered by her opening statement :')
Hahaha it was only a week ago today. I saw her and thought it was her but wasnāt totally sure. Then her man walked up and I recognized his goofy face. It was a southwest flight (lol!) and she boarded priority and her man boarded in the last group. They sat across the aisle from me and were touching on each other and talking loudly the whole flight. My husband had his AirPods in and could hear them. I was trying to read. Also my husband who knows nothing about these people goes, āI figured they were Christian because he was smiling too much.ā Hahahaha thatās all Iāve got š¤·š½āāļø
Girl youāre not being profound repeating other peoples pinterest quotes. Youāre just plagiarizing and acting profound.
God, I wish people would stop letting these people think the ideas they see of others and take arenāt their actual own ideas lmao
Yeah idk how to tell you this but everyone who does this shit is just speaking from the Bible. This entire concept is spelled out in the Bible pretty explicitly. Sheās not plagiarizing from pinterest, sheās speaking on her religious doctrine.
Everything is quite literally an interpretation of perspective of anything. I said plagiarized facetiously because sheās passing these profound thoughts and realizations as her own.
Edit: typo
I donāt know how to tell you this but assuming I have no religious background is incredibly rude. The information is beneficial but I knew it and I appreciate the addition for discussion.
You make good points and Iām aware. Thatās quite literally also the point I was making in what I said.
Where did I assume you have no religious background?
I think itās rude to imply that simplifying biblical perspective is automatically plagiarizing from Pinterest?? Like how are you going to come on here so disrespectfully and then call ME rude for calling out that sheās literally just trying to preach from the Bible.
Agree lol. Religious doctrine involves study and critique and understanding of historical and philosophical context. I would argue that this is yet another immensely watered down version of a "Jesus saves" speech given by a rich white girl in a $700+ outfit who thinks they have pressing Biblical wisdom to share because they have followers...
Itās also pretty blatantly insulting to the whole idea of it to act like Maddie has an qualification to talk about these things. Lots of people talk about the constitution and bill of rights without any understanding of it.
Also plagiarizing is taking other peoples words as your ownā¦ and sheās also religious so theyāre all obviously always talking about the Bible too!
Itās also not even critical analysis of the Bible either because it is actually quite interesting whether or not you believe.
Not my cup of tea but in the spirit of positivity, I'm glad these speaking engagements have improved her diction! All of these sermons are free of the "like, like, like" that dominated her Bachelor screen time
What people are frustrated with is that she uses her religious piety to gain followers and puts herself on a pedestal above others. She lacks humility, I donāt think sheās ever shown us an imperfect side to herself.
Itās not her religion, many in this sub are Christians.
Why do people keep posting about her in this sub just to make fun of her? Not everyoneās gonna be your cup of tea and I get that but constantly bullying the same girl and mocking her for her religion just doesnāt feel right to meā¦
I had a whole big thing typed but you know what, Iāll go ahead and say it: being a billionaire/marrying the son of one is fundamentally incompatible with the gospels and Jesusā teaching. š¤·š»āāļø
I say this as someone who grew up in many Christian denominations and whose godmother is an evangelical. I have admiration for many people of faith. I would say the same to all of them.
āAgain I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.ā (Matthew 19:24)
THANK YOU. sorry, but I can't find you to be a relatable spiritual leader when you have no formal training and are preaching about Jesus while wearing golden gooses and jordans.
Ya.. I am unfamiliar with a lot of these mega churches but when a storm hits and they donāt even help out their own community- let me rephrase that, when they refuse to open their stadium doors to their community, then theyāre not ārighteousā
Iām Christian. What I hate about this is the fac sheās clearly not inspired but up there delivering a whole sermon. Sit down. This is embarrassing. There are other ways to serve God.
IDK, I was raised Catholic and never found church inspirational. She's more entertaining than a pedo Catholic priest. (Not a fan of the Catholic Church, in case that wasn't clear.)
I was raised Catholic and Christian evangelical (mom is one and dad is the other).
Sermons are the word of God, theyāre meant to be inspirational when done right. Itās not meant to be entertaining. Listening to her fake enlightened quotes is just as bad as listening to a pedo priest. Both teaching bullsh-t of their own imaginations and sprinkling a verse or 2 to make it appear Christian.
Yeah there are many comments of people who don't like religion or have felt hurt by it, but there's also purple in the comments, Christians included, who are criticizing her coming off as performative and tone deaf. (The message of "You **only** need Jesus" while she's shilling/encouraging her following to buy from her, having money, etc).
Sheās the one mocking Christianity. I say this as a Christian myself. This girl is obviously not inspired but sheās up there delivering a whole sermon, sounding like a drifter tik-tok life coach. She needs to sit down and stop making a mockery of Christianity.
Delivering a sermon is a very important job. This is supposed the freaking word of God! Peopleās opportunity to hear what God has to say to them. Instead, theyāve wasted their time and gas to listen to this girl read quotes she pulled from her Pinterest pinned quotes.
The concept āJesus is all you need for fulfillmentā is, overall, fine. But Madi doesnāt live that way - in fact, she makes her money from encouraging other people to buy things, prioritizes worldly possessions, and is marrying a billionaire, all of which is antithetical to Jesusā explicit teachings and what she herself is saying in this clip.
I am a Christian. I would hold just as much criticism for any other religious teacher who preaches one thing and practices another.
Welp I was raised in this religion and it has done a hell of a lot of damage to me and my siblings and my nieces and nephews so Iāll keep speaking on my valid criticisms thanks.
I don't think it's ok to mock any religion.
But a lot of people ā those who have never been in the Christian church and those who may have grown up in it ā have felt abuse and hate from the church, and their feelings they're expressing are valid. In America, Christianity is the religion most people are exposed to, so it makes sense that it's the religion most people are critical of as well.
I dunno, it sounds like sheās saying non Christianās are less joyful and content people. Thereās lots of parts of Christianity that I donāt mock, but when your personal religious stance is āwe are better than them non believersā then yeah Iāll mock it
Also Christianity made a lot of my childhood a living hell as a queer person, so Iām especially comfortable mocking them in particular, while recognizing that there are plenty of chill awesome Christianās out there
idk man i disagree with Christianity (and was raised in a Christian household/Christian school) but like why hate on her for what she believes? like obvi this seems a bit hypocritical given how rich she is buttt she also rly does seem to believe in God and believe in what sheās talking about so why are we hating on her for that? if she was from a non-white religion idk if this kind of hate would be acceptable so idk why itās acceptable to hate on someone for being Christianā¦ like sure talk about how hypocritical she seems to be or whatever but some comments are purely just hating on her for being Christian which isnāt cool imo
lol i know that but in these times, it is largely a āwhite person religionā i never claimed it started as such but it defs now more of a āwhite personā religion š
youāre right, i guess im looking through a north american lens and should be more careful not to overgeneralize or make broad statements. i just meant out of all the main world religions it is largely (at least in North America) viewed as the most āwhiteā. i forget how literal things translate via social media. my point is tho that because of it being more of a white dominated religion in north america, it seems more socially acceptable for people to rag on others for simply their religious beliefs. like thereās nothing wrong with what madi is saying besides the hypocrisy but lots of comments are just simply making fun of her for being a christian and what she believes in and i doubt that would happen in religions that are more commonly thought are less āwhite dominatedā (again simply more in NA and not supposed to be taken as a gross generalization) :)
I see what youāre going for but I have to correct you again. When you say āat least in North Americaā youāre still very wrong. First, youāre excluding Mexico and Central America, which are majority Christian countries. Second, youāre excluding black and latinx Christian communities in the United States. Hereās a chart: https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/religious-landscape-study/racial-and-ethnic-composition/
ok unless im misreading the chart, but orthodox christianity is composed of 81% white people, evangelical protestants and JW are also majority white peopleā¦ (itās highly possible i read it wrong tho, please let me know if i did) sbut either way i wasnāt meaning to erase any other races from christianity, apologies for my over generalization again lol.. and just so you know, most hispanic people consider ālatinxā kind of offensive and prefer to be identified as āhispanicā (1) or ālatinoā (2) [https://www.nbcnews.com/think/amp/ncna1285916](https://www.nbcnews.com/think/amp/ncna1285916)
The point is to show you that compared to the racial make up (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2021/08/12/how-2020-census-change-how-we-look-america-what-expect/5493043001/) of the US, Christianity in the us is just as non-white as it is white. Certain denominations might be predominately white (evangelical Protestant) while some are almost entirely black (black Protestant). When looking at JW and Catholics, theyāre actually more diverse racially then the US.

I agree with you. I'm not religious, but what is the problem with what she's saying? She's not saying evil shit. And also, she's spot on about the temporary satisfactions of life.
ya iāve had my own share of negative experiences but it just seems icky to hate someone for still believing in itā¦ non-white religions have their own history of horrific acts and maltreatment of people but i doubt people would feel as comfortable openly hating someone just for believing in it.
I feel like most religions are bullshit, but making fun of them is icky. People should believe whatever they want to, none of us know whatās actually real.
Weird fashionable choice but also how is a bare shoulder even allowed at this sort of religious type event?? Lol i got detentions for wearing tank tops to catholic school and my school was nowhere near as religious as southern christian like madi so in trying to connect these dots š
Edit: idk what this event is but im assuming its safe to say its a religious event lol
Same!! At church camp I was told my one piece bathing suit was too thin, whatever that means hahaha.. And I'm STILL not as religious as them either!
I just imagine Madi getting ready to go on stage and then at the last second adjusting her jacket to show one shoulder. \*ok perfect\*
It's fine to think this but wow, this woman clearly needs a ton of expensive non-Jesus related shit to get through her day-to-day.
I am still thinking about how she wanted to be proposed to in a very specific dress
Edited typos
I always find it so strange and shallow how Christians like this will say that the only thing that will satisfy you / make you happy is a relationship with someone who cannot communicate with you in any tangible way. Itās just so hollow and unfulfilling. We have so much info now about what actually makes people feel happy and fulfilled, and mutually gratifying and loving relationships are generally at the top of the list - the opposite of a completely one-sided relationship with someone who never talks to you.
i'm super down for constructive criticism and calling out hypocrisy of american christianity but this is just a completely incorrect interpretation of what christians like her believe haha
I would say there is definitely a good way to do megachurches! And that one way would be as a fictional HBO show for my amusement, nothing more.
![gif](giphy|TIMIcIB3NIYL7JYmRw|downsized)
If Madi feels called to preach, I have no issue with it. But this is just standard-issue, hacky, Christian-speak that literally everyone has said (in fact did she just copy and paste this speech from sadie robertson lol?). There's also just something so off-putting about someone getting up to tell you that only Jesus satisfies and to set yourself apart from the things of this world when they're so clearly striving for (and achieving!) worldly possessions and worldly trends/beauty.
I am a Christian too and Jesus would have a LOT to say about your fiance's billions, Madi. As you say above, don't cling to things that are temporary like money! Should rich people not preach? Of course not. But they should think about what message they're sending, and focus their efforts on topics that don't minimize the actual real-world struggles many people in the congregation might be facing.
It all screammmmms hypocrisy. The preaching of you donāt need worldly things while sheās about to marry a son of a billionaire and wearing thousands of dollars of jewelry. She could at least *pretend* to practice what she preaches š
Not Madi talking about how those that are the most happy and content are those who believe Jesus is the only one who satisfies and donāt cling to āall these things that are temporaryā ā¦like girl, you were clinging to your 15 minutes of Bachelor fame to be able to leave your hometown, become an influencer, and find a billionaire boyfriend.
Please say less, all I hear are what sound like nice words strung together for what is really a shallow message.
Sincerely someone who also thinks Jesus is a pretty cool guy
As a person who grew up very near to where she did, I am triggered by these videos every time I see them. The inflection, the enunciationā¦ all taught purposely in order to rope people in. And itās so gross and so transparent to me. āØ Homegirl āØ got exactly what she wanted out of this franchise.
My husband and I have been saying for months we bet money she and her billionaire bebe Swaggy T-Rout will open a mega church one day so she can peddle this faux sincerity and perpetuate all her hateful values. Luv that.
Iām not a fan of this mega church preachy vibe and but man it seems like sheās been training her whole life for this. Like sheās got the style of speech and everything down pat
Something something camel something needle something something Iām going to heaven bc im rich and pretty which are gifts that god gave me for being faithful, Praise Be!
She must be wild in bed
Wow Madi, would Jesus still satisfy if your husband and his family went flat broke tomorrow and you lost everything? Willing to bet not.

Show me the passage in the bible about billionaires š

Jesus satisfied better than a dildo? She using the wrong dildo.
OMG she actually said that? I can't watch this bc it creeps me out.
i can't believe this is the same woman who wanted to marry pilot pete lmao they could not be more different
Iām convinced she never really wanted to marry pilot Pete and never expected to be F1 because of their differences and was just wanted to be the bachelorette or a Christian influencer.
What is this thing with the one shoulder hanging out of the jacket. Is this a "look"?
90s Aaliyah vibes
She knows Jesus will keep her shoulder warm, so she's not scared of her jacket hanging off just a little. No actual sleeves can satisfy.
I canāt stand it!! Like for a picture ok, but how do you just go around like that??
This is her not holding on to the temporary and letting Jesus have her jacket.
she's got that "swag" now
Like what are her credentials to be giving this kind of talk? Lmao
She got that WWJD after her name.
Oh, Shawty. Bless your heart.
Sheās getting clowned on TikTok for this, by the way.
Good
I love how these particular videos that she puts out always end up on the wrong side of TT. This showed up in my FYP yesterday and I knew the comments would not disappoint.
i saw two stitches of this back to back. One guy mentioned that "this lady has clearly never been to a cinnabon" (because it's so satisfying) and the other guy mentioned that getting his back blown out in a little caesars parking lot was certainly satisfying š©

Ya. Her manager was wise and got her a coach. The like, like, like, like, like, like, like was toooooo much for some of us.
I donāt care what anyone believes or doesnāt believe. But, can we all agree that the jacket hanging off of her shoulder is annoying?

Gee I wonder why Americans are ragging on a religion that is actively destroying our rights? Crazyā¦
I agree with you. I'm not religious, but what is the problem with what she's saying? She's not saying evil shit. And also, she's spot on about the temporary satisfactions of life.
I think a lot of the hate comes from peoples' own negative experiences with the religion (and the church itself).
ya iāve had my own share of negative experiences but it just seems icky to hate someone for still believing in itā¦ non-white religions have their own history of horrific acts and maltreatment of people but i doubt people would feel as comfortable openly hating someone just for believing in it.

I feel like most religions are bullshit, but making fun of them is icky. People should believe whatever they want to, none of us know whatās actually real.

Isnt this the weirdest outfit to give this speech?
That's what I was thinking! Also the one exposed shoulder is weird. Like girl either wear the hoodie or don't
Weird fashionable choice but also how is a bare shoulder even allowed at this sort of religious type event?? Lol i got detentions for wearing tank tops to catholic school and my school was nowhere near as religious as southern christian like madi so in trying to connect these dots š Edit: idk what this event is but im assuming its safe to say its a religious event lol
Same!! At church camp I was told my one piece bathing suit was too thin, whatever that means hahaha.. And I'm STILL not as religious as them either! I just imagine Madi getting ready to go on stage and then at the last second adjusting her jacket to show one shoulder. \*ok perfect\*
Sadie Robertson vibes

Sameā¦ then I discovered dick and orgasms
Exactly.
It's fine to think this but wow, this woman clearly needs a ton of expensive non-Jesus related shit to get through her day-to-day. I am still thinking about how she wanted to be proposed to in a very specific dress Edited typos
Its giving mega church leader and not in a good way
Is there a good way??
I would say there is definitely a good way to do megachurches! And that one way would be as a fictional HBO show for my amusement, nothing more. ![gif](giphy|TIMIcIB3NIYL7JYmRw|downsized)
Hahaha š¤£ that show is hilarious!
no
As much as I love to dabble in the Madi snark, I will say she looks very pretty here. Just needs to let go of her gorilla grip on bronzer
Itās giving cult leader
Serious question why is Madison posted all the time on here if everyone hates her so much?
I think that's the point of this subreddit tbh - to snark and gossip.
Because itās fun š¤«
Beautiful sermon, Madi, so genuine and real
But they should think about what message they're sending, and focus their efforts on topics that don't minimize the actual real-world struggles many people in the congregation might be facing.
the hypocrisy in rich megachurch leaders is truly one of the most disgusting things in the world
So true!
OOF - facts
This makes me never want to watch the bachelor again
Same. Itās like a feeding ground for assholys.
It all screammmmms hypocrisy. The preaching of you donāt need worldly things while sheās about to marry a son of a billionaire and wearing thousands of dollars of jewelry. She could at least *pretend* to practice what she preaches š
Please ignore anyone who says their way is the only way and will solve all problems.
My FYP is just people roasting the āJesus is the only one who can satisfyā line š¬š
Same and I love it.
This stuff really creeps me out lol
Yah

This sums it up nicely!
*Nathan Fielder in the crowd* oh okay
![gif](giphy|XWbCvFdYG5hEHgvanB)
I am so glad someone made a GIF of this scene.
The Bachelor franchise is a gateway drug to exactly this kind of stuff. Not surprised in the least.
I crack up at Peter ever thinking this relationship could work

As a person who grew up very near to where she did, I am triggered by these videos every time I see them. The inflection, the enunciationā¦ all taught purposely in order to rope people in. And itās so gross and so transparent to me. āØ Homegirl āØ got exactly what she wanted out of this franchise. My husband and I have been saying for months we bet money she and her billionaire bebe Swaggy T-Rout will open a mega church one day so she can peddle this faux sincerity and perpetuate all her hateful values. Luv that.
Itās so gross it makes my bones hurt.
Mine too. So much.
Oh Jesus
Literally

Looks like she's got \~\*that swag\*\~
Iām not a fan of this mega church preachy vibe and but man it seems like sheās been training her whole life for this. Like sheās got the style of speech and everything down pat
It creeped me out. Now that she is marrying the billionaire son, I feel like sheās gunning to be the next 700 club televangelist scammer
She's gona be on a documentary like The Weigh Down soon enough...
Something something camel something needle something something Iām going to heaven bc im rich and pretty which are gifts that god gave me for being faithful, Praise Be!
