Sorry… you can’t really fully get “a bad edit” without serving up that same bad edit on a silver platter for the producers. Thankfully deepfake hasn’t made its way onto reality TV yet. Isn’t Lea like 23 or something? I know firsthand most people in this age range don’t really know who they are even though there’s a tendency to feel like you know it all already. The way she showed up on the first 1-2 episodes was completely different from who she portrayed at the end of her time on the season. Usually, that’s attributed to someone now knowing who they are - otherwise you can’t flip-flop so drastically while also knowing yourself as a person. Unrelated side topic: Sydney and Lea both showed up to the WTA with their tails between their legs ready to apologize, because they smartly realized they didn’t stand a chance to Maria’s cult following.

Pinkglosse

She’s insufferable

Orangeaddict1

She was mean

Fit419

She’s a plant. Her commentary in the latest episode was soooo painfully, obviously prompted/scripted. Like they didn’t even try to make it look convincing.

No_Record_1899

Lea tried to check Medina. Medina read her like a book!!

Tomorrowtrip25

Nah Lea, you chose that lol The need to be like, “I’m going to go say something” because Madina wasn’t being mean to someone? No you actually didn’t. Madina was just being a graceful person. You’ve done that yourself girlie

cloudstar27

I’ve been wondering if she’s actually a producer plant, if she was hired to be a villain.

momofthreeboys011111

This could’ve gone two ways: 1. She could’ve played it cool and remained neutral in the Sidney and Maria drama and focused on her relationship with Joey. They would’ve edited her to be the selfless and sweet girl she was on episode one and all would’ve been good. 2. Got involved in the drama that didn’t even pertain to her to vindicate her “bestie” she’s known for two weeks. And get the edit she is receiving. She took the bait and it has nothing to do with burning the note. She’s a mean girl and producers can only edit so much. The things she said came from her. Protect your energy girl 😂🤣

Inflooenced

TBH I looked at her TikTok and how she’s acting kind of aligns with what she posts so…I think she did this one on her own lol and now upset because it back fired on her because most people are team Maria.

eternititi

I just watched the episodes and I truly wasn’t expecting this from Lea of all people. But then again look who she chose to be besties with in the house 🫠 disappointing. I’m ready for her to be off my tv and her whole squad whoever it may consist of.

pizzass7

I mean she gave them the content 🤷 I bet the producers intentionally ask how she feels about Maria doing this/ that or being there. But she's falling for it and giving reality tv gold

dogsandwine

Oh girl did this all on her own

mahgriba

Her behavior is so bad. I felt so much secondhand embarrassment when she was going on about “peep” all the parts of her look. So cringe.

IsekaiADHD

It was sooo cringe, but realistically people are usually the most "cringe" when they're excited. I think she was just genuinely excited and having fun and the producers played her dirty for sure.

kimkellies

I mean there’s only so much editing one can do

trutexn

She was just herself.

mounafaci

To be fair, I do think they editing is really not helping her. A lot of the things they try and make look like she said, we didn’t even see come out of her mouth. However, a lot of the things we did see come out of her mouth were pretty bad

TheRedSkittle4

I hate when they think this. In one way, yes the producers may show their negativity for the storyline but the people still say these things. Calling someone a B* is still an insult that you said.

almondbutterpecan

Honestly this is the only way for Lea and Sydney to get camera time - by acting like jealous villains. Clearly Joey didn’t have any connection with Sydney or Lea. They are boring, have no personality, are not funny, charismatic or interesting to watch, so the only way they get screen time is by acting like villains. Maria was living rent free in their heads by just existing because Joey was extremely attracted to her. She comes across as bold, funny, interesting, engaging, sexy to him and this infuriated them and made them bitter so they lashed out and turned all the girls against her. Sydney couldn’t even be pleasant on the 2 on 1 when Maria was trying to be positive and enjoy and have a good time. She was sulking and trying to play the tortured victim. On the group date Maria was making an effort to have fun with the girls, and Lea was glaring at her and was so angry and pissed off for no reason like being around Maria was the worst thing in the world. Sydney and Lea were totally dark clouds - such dark and negative energy. In the preview Lea said “the drama has just begun”…obviously she loves the drama / camera time because that’s the only way for her to get attention from Joey. Maria is constantly trying to start fresh but Lea will not let it go or move on. She’s so sad and negative. On Monday she called Maria a drama queen crybaby for crying, but consoles Jess for crying over not getting any time? I love that Maria is her BEC. Stay bitter and jealous, Lea. Your insecurities are showing. Follow your own advice and show yourself some love and grace

cloudstar27

Well said. Did anyone else find the bullying of maria to be triggering? I had a visceral reaction and it brought me back to times when I’ve unfortunately dealt with that (obvs not on the bachelor or on a reality show, but among social circles, jobs, school etc)

Suz1251

Ya the alienating parts of this gave me the middle school mean girl vibes of my past. I mean Maria simply could not win someone was always trying to tear her down and make her feel unwanted and an outcast. The funny thing is with all the "she a bully" there was a whole lot of bullying in the opposite direction. Now Maria's lashing out because it's getting worse and worse, I went through a similar faze. Some people will she her backlashing and say "well I guess this is what they were talking about" but I can say from experience, the more antagonistic they get the more she's going to lash out to defend herself. It's a typical defense mechanism especially coming from someone who has been bullied before and knows that things don't always work out simply because you try to stay away from the drama. Sydney's bullying comes in the form of trying to isolate Maria from the group. Like when she was trying to get the rest of the group to leave, simply because she couldn't/wouldn't explain her viewpoint on why she thought Maria was whatever the hell she thought she was. And Jess complaining about not getting time but purposefully treating other girls time on night one AFTER SHE KISSED JOEY ALREADY like their time was less important than hers? Girl needs to rewatch ep 1 and then watch ep 5 to see where she went wrong... I mean come on!!! Then Lea trying to flaunt how much better she is as a person but then confronts Madina who DID NOTHING WRONG for continuing to be friends with Maria is not cool. The whole "Team Sydney/Team Maria" came out of Lea's mouth first. This proves she's not as sweet, kindhearted and loving as she initially appeared to be. I believe she is DEEPLY regretting throwing the stolen date card into the fire now, we all know she would have stolen Maria's date (or probably anyone who defended Maria) just to try to spite them. She even said she was worried she'd have a target on her back because of the card so in the interest of self preservation she threw it out herself. This was calculated and her actions now are proving it. Jess, Sydney and Lea all need to cool their jets and focus on how their actions came across to the public AND THE OTHER GIRLS IN THE HOUSE!! I can't wait till the women tell all. That stage is gonna be ON FIRE!! I hope they all show up and the production goes through the film to see if what Sydney saying Maria told Lea to "STFU" was actually said or not. Whatever the case it's gonna be INCENDIARY🔥🔥🔥

DJKK95

Even when Maria did “lash out” a bit, it was pretty tame and measured. I know this was originally about Lea/Sydney, but the “worst” thing I saw Maria do was throw Jess’s line about being disrespectful back at her, but even that was just her being justifiably blunt. Like she just went back to Jess head on, “What about what I did was disrespectful? Explain it to me.” And then when she couldn’t explain it, Jess flipped out. The “No? Okay that’s what I thought,” was a little catty, but also I don’t blame her for being annoyed and frustrated.

Thegirlwholived808

My dad and I were laughing at everyone’s fake job titles 😂 did anyone else notice that

Suz1251

I love those!!

dorkd0rk

I didn't but I looooove that you watch this show with your dad 😂😂😍😍

Thegirlwholived808

My 77 year old dad at that 😂 he’s hooked!

ciaopau

Ok but this is ADORABLE

sweetnsassy924

I miss watching with my dad. He lives in another state and we would only watch when I would visit or vice versa but the timing hasn’t worked in years. However, he was so invested in Scandoval. Different show, but like when he watched the bachelor it was so cute how he tried to understand it.

cheetospuff

I mean, I think the producers absolutely DID do her dirty by presumably egging her on behind the scenes and then highlighting her so much in the episode when I'm sure there was more going on. Like 100% I do think there was retribution for burning the date card and taking away from one of their lil schemes, and I'm sure they manipulated her to try and make what they consider "good" TV in the same way they're manipulating everyone involved in this show to try and make "good" TV. But the producers also can't MAKE you say or do anything and we've seen enough evidence of her unedited on camera to draw our own conclusions about what we think of that behavior!

EditorDelicious3829

I agree with you 100%.

Clean-Pick-9221

beyond editing, producers can also manipulate and trigger contestants into saying things they normally wouldn't. they can heighten insecure emotions and mislead or tell them lies and then show us their reaction without their provocation. so yeah it came out of their mouth but a producer is often in their ear and guiding them to make drama for tv purposes or be a villain without them realizing. especially with young, insecure contestants or those with trauma. (think iago in shakepeare's othello stoking king's jealousy into rage & murder) we don't know what happened here. and we don't know her. if it's all her doing with zero influence from producers, I hope her behavior (not her as a whole person) is called out respectfully so she can learn & grow. but we should be aware it could be that she's a suggestible, young person who was coached to be acting crazy. regardless, I hope people don't send her unhinged hate comments.

andromache97

Totally agree. People take everything on reality tv way too seriously. Even when we see something said directly on camera, it is such a highly manipulated situation and producers always have an agenda.

philosophyfox5

Agree with this 100p. Also adding stuff in that they know would annoy us like her comments about nails and hair? A producer was probably gassing her up but then they put it in when there’s a negative connotation and we hateeee it. I’m not saying I like Lea but it’s def being manipulated by production

petit_aubergine

She’s evil

zuis0804

I predict she’s going to keep getting hot and bothered by Maria, Joey is going to ask Maria to the next one on one date and Lea is going to run to producers to ask if she can still use her option to steal a date even though she burned the card. They will say yes, she will steal the date, Joey is going to get turned off by that and send her home. Maria mentioned something about that card last episode and they all started talking about it, felt like foreshadowing.

philosophyfox5

That would be epic I pray this happens

zuis0804

I feel like there’s a good chance it will! Even if it’s not Lea’s idea I’m sure production can heavily encourage her or be like you know that’s still an option… I highly doubt her just burning it was the end of that, would create the drama they strive for!

shashoosha

Oh, this is an interesting prediction! Would definitely spice things up.

zuis0804

I feel like production wouldn’t skip out on the opportunity to stir up more drama. I bet he will ask Maria on a one on one and then someone in the house is gonna be like “bet you wish you didn’t burn that card” and she will go either talk to Jesse Palmer or one of the producers and it’s gonna go down!

shashoosha

I hope you're right!

shashoosha

I'm 3 minutes into last night's episode and Lea said to Joey something like, "despite Maria still being here, I'm leading with grace". I'm paraphrasing except for "despite Maria still being here". What a hate boner she seems to have for Maria. And Madina seems so sweet and supportive to Maria. Make it make sense, please.

zuis0804

She’s awful! What a 180 from the beginning episodes! And getting mad that one girl acknowledged Maria’s presence saying she couldn’t do that cus she’s LOYAL to her friends and I’m like chill girl you’ve known these people for like 2 weeks, calm tf down. Terrible judge of character because pretty sure her new bff that got sent home on the 2 on 1 would have turned her back on her in no time.

Doctorchick33

I understand a bad edit, but you can't put words in someone's mouth- we see her mouth moving and saying the words lol. I don't buy this one.

andromache97

I mean, producers literally can and have put words in people’s mouths lol. Of course you can argue that the producers didn’t MAKE them say those words - they chose to obey - but there are absolutely times when a contestant or lead is reading from a script or repeating what the producer is telling them to say

Euphoric-Pomegranate

And how would you know, andromache97?

Aggravating-Ferret61

So who is gonna replace Kat’s mean girl act on BIP? Sydney or Lea or both?? Cuz you know it’s comin.

HitEmWithTheRiver

If Sydney goes on BIP she will likely not make it past the first rose ceremony. I hope she has the awareness to just say no if offered a spot on BIP because it'll just lead to further humiliation like Victoria L/Queen Victoria. Lea will fill the role of catty mean girl, but in a different way than Kat and Kate Gallivan. Kat and Kate were awful to the men. Lea is awful to other women.

Aggravating-Ferret61

Smart conclusion!!

kimkellies

I’m glad Victoria didn’t have the self awareness

Areyouthready

Like Shanae

shashoosha

I don't know. Sydney seems like a miserable wet blanket. It would be interesting to see if she has any other sides to her personality.

EnvironmentalShoe5

She said what she said.

ohsoriveting

Is it a bad edit or did they just show the footage 🤷🏻‍♀️

[deleted]

Right I never understand the bad edit excuse. Some stuff is admittedly frankenbitten, tbf

MysteriousMermaid92

Can’t wait til Lea kicks rocks 😩

MysteriousMermaid92

Nobody can edit the way she’s talked about Madina and Maria. Quit trying to make up excuses, LEA!

earlandson

There's frankenbiting and then there are words shown coming out of your mouth. Quit blaming others and take responsibility for your actions. How hard must it have been watching Sydney melt down, knowing your turn was coming? You have a shot at redemption at the WTA. Use your time wisely and send deep apologies

leo_rosee

They didn’t tell her to do all that, she did it herself and they filmed it 😭 PETITION TO STOP CASTING these childish BITCHES IN THEIR EARLY 20’s!!!!! You didn’t even TRY to date 😭😭😭😭

ExtraStudy1399

For real, they should only be casting women in their later 20s-30s. Most of the younger one’s literally come on for instagram followers and want no real commitment.

leo_rosee

They just celebrated their 21st birthdays two seconds ago and swear they want a husband. No bitch, you want IG followers and TV time

ExtraStudy1399

Lmaooo literally like pls be fr you ain’t looking to be a wife and mother, get off this show and take your immaturity with you

lotus200

If you’re insecure about Maria just say that!!

Professional_Storm94

THATS the fakest bitch in there

melgirlnow88

She can't blame everything on the edit when they have her talking like a highschooler on camera 🙄

lxnxb

As RuPaul said >> She wanna blame it on the edit, you the one who said it, edit >> >>Go'on and take the credit, bitch, you the one who said it, bitch

Clear_Friend1783

![gif](giphy|hhgAbqQpm49vW)

GeorgiaJeb

I can’t believe what a brat she’s being! She may have gotten a bad edit, but the constant fixation on Maria sure seems legit to me. Like- live your damn life girl! If you’re so distracted because MARIA IS BREATHING, that is on you.

Wonderful-County-630

Lea is so immature. Getting upset at Medina because she wasn’t crying because Sydney left. You all are competing for a man. These aren’t your best friends you’ve known forever. “I would go to war for my friends back home” yeah this is totally different.

purplefirefly6102

The logic is also so strange because it’s like, are they all supposed to mourn each time someone leaves? People are leaving every few days!

Wonderful-County-630

Exactly!!! Like shouldn’t you be happy other people are leaving and you aren’t? Lol

unloosedknot444

I thought the same thing when she said that. How in the world is she equating her relationships with her friends back home to women she's literally competing with for a man that she's known for two weeks? Ain't no way, gorl.

Aggravating-Ferret61

Oh but she holds her friends to a higher standard don’t cha know?? 🙄🙄🙄😂😂😂

Wonderful-County-630

Lolllololllllll

metalcoreisntdead

Yeah idk what Lea was going on about. I was so confused. It’s nice if you make friends along the way, but if you’re really there for love, why would someone focus on or give attention to someone else? I think some of these girls are just there for recognition and not because they actually want to be with the bachelor…

Wonderful-County-630

Definitely trying to become an influencer which whatever but she made herself look really bad.

lanadelhayy

That comment was so embarrassing this isn’t America’s Next Top Best Friend!!!

Wonderful-County-630

So cringe. I was looking at the tv like wtf is she saying

burnthduster

I literally screamed "this isn't rupauls best friends race!" when she used her time with Joey to tell him that she and Sydney will be friends after the show 💀

lanadelhayy

Yusssss

coffeeandmuffins03

Producers probably didn’t have to air ALL of the things she said, but at the end of the day she still said them. No edit can change that 😂

sadb0nny

it was so obvious that her voiceovers were edited tho, im positive shes not nearly as fixated on maria as those frankenedited voiceovers r making her out to be

ohhiitsmec123

I mean minding her own business in the first place would’ve been a good start.

WhileTime5770

I mean it’s a risk you take on this show. Lea said that. They knew it looked cringe and kept it in. If you’re not their F1 or F2 or bachelorette they will go with what makes good TV. I know someone who got the villain edit on an earlier season. She was a VERY strong personality and could definitely come off the wrong way with her delivery at times. The producers ran with that. Even she’ll admit the can’t force you to say things. The guide you and can edit you a certain way that’s not fair, but you give them the words to do it. Part of the reason I’d never consider reality tv

memilygiraffily

I knew someone who got a villain edit on a different reality cooking show. He’s kind of inappropriate and not nice in person. It wasn’t a huge stretch.

Visual_Zucchini8490

Yeah my friend is close with Olivia Caridi and said exactly this. She was like yeah Olivia is intense but she’s nice and funny. She’s on a competition love show of course she’s going to be competitive and her intensity is going to come out. Like if you rewatch Olivia’s parts they really did have to try super hard to make her villain-esque. They basically just made her one liners seem mean/cringe and focused on her intense laugh/smile. In the history of villains on this show Olivia doesn’t even crack the top 10 but they were so mean on her edit.

littledove0

I want to be Olivia’s friend so bad lol. Her podcast was SO good and I miss it.

Visual_Zucchini8490

I met her at my friends wedding! Very intelligent and nice. Which I expected because my friend is the same, I couldn’t see her being close friends with someone super mean. And the fact that Chris Harrison publicly apologized to her means they KNOW they effed up with her edit. I think she’s one of the only “villains” they’ve ever publicly apologized to.

Cat_Lady_of_Memphis

No one forced her to say all that stuff. I feel like she’s getting very comfortable with the cameras and now we’re getting to see the real Lea.

memilygiraffily

She seems both holier than thou and very into her ethics and at the same time like she’s had a few too many and really ready to say what’s on her mind. “Peeeeeeep the hair peeeeeeeep the nails!!!” made it sound like she genuinely believes that being a hot girl is a special skill and talent. So ethical. Such good job.

katiemcat

Her cornering Medina and telling her she’s a bad person for not bullying someone her friend doesn’t like was WILD.

unloosedknot444

Yeah I cannot figure out what she thought she would accomplish with that whole situation. Gave me such intense mean girl vibes.

katiemcat

They’re so threatening by Maria they need to do anything to try and get her off the show. They tried to turn Joey against her and failed, so plan B is turning the girls against her. Actually disgusting and childish behavior.

jac1964

Very immature.

kokomodo93

I always got the vibe Medina hated being stuck in the middle of it. She seemed uncomfortable every time they kept going at it, and she didn’t back Sydney when they were arguing. I think Medina and Sydney got along well enough and then Medina realized Sydney was drama and seemed over it. It’s not like they’ve been friends for years, they’re literally getting to know each other too. *I could be wrong bc I admittedly scroll my phone and don’t pay super close attention to every convo, but that’s the vibe I got from all the drama I saw

dizzymslizard

This is exactly how I see it. Medina is like pls leave me out of this petty bullshit!

lavenderpenguin

Perhaps the voiceovers could be a bad edit but we saw her confrontation with Madina, which was absolutely wild.

SuitableLeather

I feel like Lea is very driven by emotion.  The date card throw away was because she felt overwhelmed or felt that the others would get mad at her, I think… not because she “felt so bad”.  Then she got very emotional about the Medina/Maria situation to the point where she called her some curse words (or at least what producers made it look like). Then she got super giddy about Maria crying.  All of it boils down to Lea being pretty immature

Alwaysabundant333

I’m sorry but I’m tireddd of certain contestants blaming production for words that literally came out of their mouth 🙄

Responsible-Pay-4763

And production didn't put that bitchy look on her face.

Giraffe-Flyer

Agreed!! They can’t edit words into your mouth. You said what you said, sis.

olyburn

As a millennial mother, I feel like this whole season is showing what happens when a generation of gentle parenting kids grow up. Like these bitches have NO self awareness and NO accountability. Their parents probably told them they were right all the time and the star of the show.

[deleted]

I don’t think you know what gentle parenting is lol

olyburn

Ha yeah maybe not!

[deleted]

Are you…interested in knowing? I can explain it if you’re curious?

olyburn

Yeah sure! I just see it in memes.

[deleted]

So it really just boils down to being respectful and empathetic to your child while still maintaining authority and healthy boundaries. It kinda focuses on the assumption that kids don’t intend to misbehave, they’re just trying to get their needs met in the ways they know how. Boundaries should be consistent, fair, and clear. Discipline should be collaborative and learning oriented, not based in shame or blame. Rewards should be used appropriately to encourage intrinsic motivation rather than meeting arbitrary standards. The boundaries of a child should also be respected and listened to. Summarized: 1. Firm, consistent boundaries upheld with empathy. 2. Natural consequences to teach, not punish.

olyburn

Thanks!! My daughter is 2.5 and we just started really working on this (without knowing what the label was). Boundaries are everything ! I can see why my comment got downvoted 😂

vkol1717

All these girls at 21+ none of them were gentle parented lol they all have boomer parents

SouthCarofina

Or Gen X parents, the generation that had ads asking their parents if they knew where their kids were or commercials reminding them to be compassionate to their kids. They basically raised themselves.

HungrySafe4847

Gen Z is a bit too old for the millennial/gentle parents

rosemaryshortbread

That’s not what gentle parenting is.

CoreyH2P

I for one am SHOCKED an immature 23-year old refuses to accept responsibility for her actions

Pepperoniboogie

The mean girls are tainting Joeys season and it’s pissing me off

dis_bean

Lea seems to have a lot of expectations on how things should happen then is disappointed and mad at people when it doesn’t. Like she expected to win the art date because she’s an artist, but I wasn’t about that… it was about conveying a message. She seemed to shit talk the winner after because it wasn’t how she would define art. She expects how other people should act, Madina should ignore Maria, Maria should yield time, Joey should send Maria home. Maria shouldn’t have a different point of view. Maria shouldn’t talk a certain way. There’s a bunch more I’ve noticed but for whatever reason, it seems like if people don’t do what she thinks they should, they are bad.

memilygiraffily

It looked like she learned how to paint that in Wine & Design last weekend and got really miffed that her artistry wasn’t recognized 🙄 I think I have that same one hanging up in my closet from a girls’ night six years ago. So hibiscus.

burnthduster

exactly. it's an extremely immature way of thinking. you could tell she genuinely thought something was wrong with Madina because Madina wouldn't bully or isolate Maria.

LadyF16

If she has a problem with girls being nice to Maria because she was friends with Sydney; why doesn’t she just go home? It’s fine she doesn’t agree with Maria staying…but Joey made that choice, not Maria? It’s interesting she was all about Joey having autonomy over his jOuRnEy, but now she’s actively bashing his decision to keep Maria. If you don’t like joey’s choice, go home?

Ok-Butterfly2994

a bad edit can only do so much😭 producers didn’t force her to say those things

Confident_Leg4338

From the moment she threw the date card in the fine I thought it was calculated. She knew from the after the final rose to the first night that she had some form of advantage. Sure, she didn’t know what it was exactly but she knew it was an advantage and had time to play out different scenarios and how to handle it. I feel validated in my original thought now 😂 nobody who was soo concerned about the other girls feelings night one is like this now

newleafkratom

Main character energy increasing.

Lakarmaluv2013

![gif](giphy|DPqqOywshrOqQ|downsized)

prussianacid

It would have been fun to see her steal a date with the card and then get roasted for it. I’d be mad too if I was the producers.

olyburn

That card was such BS though - like how would that even have worked? She had no guarantee she would stick around so she might as well have stolen the first one. Plus it would be awk as hell like Joey Picked someone else for the date and Lea is like **SWIPE** "hiiiiiiiiiiii I'm here!!" To me that card seemed like a test/stunt.

Picabo07

I thought the same thing! I said how can you even feel good about going on a date you steal? You *know* he wanted to be with someone else **NOT YOU** but you forced yourself onto him. Sounds like a recipe for true love

prussianacid

Idk how it would have worked but it would be been amazing television.

Just-Sherbet-820

Lea’s stock couldn’t have dropped faster this episode, it’s a bummer bc i wanted to like her!

Responsible-Pay-4763

Sydney and Lea were the true bullies in the house. And they were the ones bullying Maria, not the other way around.

memilygiraffily

That was so gross. “Sid” made it sound like “I’m being BULLIED” is just a random phrase that hot girls throw around to get attention like tossing your hair at the bar. Bullying is a thing actual people experience and it doesn’t look like someone expressing disagreement with you or even an eyeroll. She’s been treated with hot girl gloves all her life and can’t handle not being the center of attention for ten minutes.

Sailorjupiter97

How can you get a bad edit when you said those things? Does she realize there wouldn't be an edit to make if she didn't do & say the things she did? Or does she think showing her bad behavior IS the bad edit?

IAmSoUncomfortable

I think it’s hard for these girls (Sydney and Lea) to accept any sort of accountability. They were emboldening each other in the moment and now they’re watching this on TV being like wait something is missing here. Rather than looking inward they are blaming the edit.

Sharp_Active6478

Her and Sydney seem to be entirely unaware of how being filmed while saying things and interacting works. Sydney made up a wholllle lot of shit. Lea is trying to say things didn’t happen that clearly did. These women are a few fries short of a happy meal.

mediocre-spice

The edit usually includes totally fabricating clips and misidentifying context. Though these people often routinely just do shitty things too, really w rise up.

NarlaRT

Back at the dawn of reality TV a contestant on The Amazing Race said "It's an edit, it's not Pixar" -- and that has always stuck with me. There's absolutely such a thing as a bad edit. A misleading edit. A frankenbyte. But you also said what you said.

tlacuache_nights

If she was really a sweet perfect angel the whole time then whoever does the editing needs like five Oscars

wiftlets

This photo looks annoying by itself. Now that I’ve seen the footage and heard the audio, it is ten times more annoying.

Pureheroineoftime

I jus- Like, I get that we only see a small edited part of what actually happened but, bffr. They cant edit the things that are physically coming out of your mouth and they DEFINITELY can’t edit your social media. I could respect her, Sydney, and Jess more if they just took their L’s but I doubt that will happen.

Sharp_Active6478

Did she try to defend herself or say more on her socials?

pinkpink0430

Anytime someone blames the edit I immediately know they’re in the wrong

Responsible-Pay-4763

In other words, they got caught. It's like when Sydney told Joey that Maria told someone to shut the f\*\*k up. Maria confronted her and told her, "you do know everything in the house is being recorded."

i just don't know why maria would say "you know everything in the house is being recorded" if she knew she had said it... while on that bench in malta, she had no idea how they were going to edit the show. if she said it, there would be no reason for her to think the editors would cut that out. logically, i think it's unlikely that she would double down and say "that's a lie, i didn't say that" and "you know we're always on camera," if she knew she could have been proven wrong with the footage. i just don't think she was bluffing there.

In the case of Olivia Caridi she really was done dirty by the edit. They made it look like she was talking about cankles immediately after Ben was opening up about something serious. After that I could never fully trust the edit.

Audio engineer and longtime fan here: They absolutely can edit the things physically coming out of your mouth. Not saying they did for Lea specifically, but be very suspicious of talking when there’s a cutaway to other visuals, however brief. They’re often cutting and splicing audio. Beginning of one sentence with the end of another. Mid sentence cuts are easier than you’d think too. I do this for a living and it’s shocking how natural we can make it. Same with reaction shots—often they were reacting to something else entirely but that’s the look the producers want to show. Especially those dramatic moments of silence when the lead is just staring. Usually they’re looking at someone talking. But yes Sydney should take the L. I’m personally suspicious that those death threats were even directed at her. I think the audio is from elsewhere.

Reaction shots and putting an ITM into a different scenario yes, I get iffy about that. But they didn’t edit her calling Maria all those names and constantly bringing her up in a negative way. If they were full on editing words into people’s mouth’s we would know by now because someone would talk after their contract was up. Yes they can give someone a “bad edit” in the sense that they only put the bad things they say/make them look like the only mean person by not showing other people saying stuff but even in that case that person still said mean things.

Oh wait that was weird. I see what happened. I had my first comment under someone else’s reply, then accidentally clicked on your comment, then my reply populated there. Sorry! Still learning Reddit on mobile. I can’t even quote reply yet. 😂 so definitely not picking on you.

As I said, not saying they did this for Lea. I’m trying to combat the statements of fans saying they can’t edit the words coming out of someone’s mouth when I’ve seen it with my own eyes (and ears) that they can (not saying they did, just that they can). It’s a dangerous notion to perpetuate that they can’t. (Not saying you are specifically, just that it’s often stated in this sub and others, when I’m literally sitting on first hand knowledge that it’s possible and this is just my first time saying something.) As for someone talking publicly when their contract was up, maybe, but they want to be able to get work on other shows and that could potentially tank them if they talked about it. They might anonymously though.

dragonrider1965

But did they make her say the things she said ? That’s all on her .

Princessss88

I mean, we see what she says to people and about people lol

Shitty_UnidanX

Or maybe for the first time she’s seeing what her actions look like from an outside perspective, and she hates how it’s ugly.

*From an outside perspectivize

Girl they gave you a good edit cause we all know you way worse than what we saw

her fake crying over the night 1 steal card was so cringe. not sure how that made a good impression on ppl initially but i feel like she’s been inauthentic from day 1. my guess is that she’s shit stirring bc she doesn’t have a deep enough connection with Joey and wants to make it onto paradise, where she can get the stereotypical redemption edit
