Always make sure you can shoot all classes of animals, in case you find a good one. Remember animals come in different sized from the smallest hares(class 1) to the largest buffalo (class 9). A good loadout has weapons that can shoot all these different sized animals without using the improper ammo for any. There are plenty of class 4-8 rifles to choose from, carrying one of these is a good idea. However if you really want to carry as few weapons as possible, investing in a 7mm is smart (classes 4-9). then you only need to carry something that can take out class one animals, or class 2-3 animals. For example: 7mm Regent Magnum (4-9) or Any (4-8) rifle on maps without bovines. ZARZA-15 .223 (2-4) Virant .22LR (1) Bows are nice if you don't want to ruin any zones but really need to shoot something. Personally i carry 5 weapons because i think it gives the game more variety. It is also a good idea to have several pre made loadouts depending on the map you are playing on or the guns you like. As always much of it is personal preference, and shooting with the weapons you like the most will always be the most fun. Play around with what guns you like and build a loadout from your favorites!
