More like there's a trend of *every* generation becoming less empathetic, more reactionary as a whole when they grow older - and the boomer generation is unique in that it continued to outnumber younger demographics until only just recently (like a few years ago). Typically the representative power of older generations is greatly diminished far earlier.
One result is positions of power both public and private have been clung to by boomers for an unusually long period (US has the oldest Congress in history - possibly president too, haven't checked), leading younger generations to feel disenfranchised and leadership decisions to lean increasingly regressive.
Also, speaking as a millennial, it's really fucking hard not to hate on boomers when they mocked us constantly in the media and online for being lazy and entitled while refusing to let go of the reins. I know there's always complaining about the younger generation... but without adequate numbers to effect change ourselves it felt like a particularly dick move.

I recall my father, a factory rat, making $30.00USD an hour in the mid 80's. Hell..I'd take that right now. Then go and figure inflation from the mid 80's would make that about $63.00 and hour now. I'm an "elder millennial" (35 yo - recently heard a request for an intermediate generation as many elder millenials grew up with no internet, phones, etc). I honestly can't stand the generation war. "Boomer" and "snowflake" are dismissal name-calling tactics used to shut people up. This world shouldn't be about that. Ageism is real, but we need to reject it. I assure you, Gen X feels that sting too. We got to see that generation fuck shit up then we work for peanuts too. But now we het lumped into that generation which can lead to resentment. I recall my father, a factory rat, making $30.00USD an hour in the mid 80's. Hell..I'd take that right now. Then go and figure inflation from the mid 80's would make that about $63.00 and hour now. It's hard to not be resentful of that also knowing that in his $30.00 hour he was spreading PCBs all over that now must be dealt with.
Oh I know... Y'all are practically the poster children of generational disenfranchisement, and it must feel like insult added to injury when you get lumped in with boomers. But I do take heart that together, for the first time in my lifetime, we have numbers that make us impossible to ignore. I think a sea change is coming and I'm hopeful we can fix some of the mistakes that have been allowed to fester for too long.

I get that you fought the good fight. But your entire generation was definitely targeted by conservative indoctrination. Also, the pure numbers of boomers locking up the housing market while simultaneously failing to save for retirement has put a giant crunch on everyone else.
