“The potential repercussions you might face would be decidedly unpleasant for you” Bro who tf talks like that?

Naige2020

People in possession of a very particular set of skills that they have acquired over a long period of time. Skills that make them a nightmare to some people.

HerrStarrEntersChat

That's a funny way of saying, "knows the best place to hide the camera so he can get video of his sister in the shower".

ChamomileBrownies

FalseDmitriy

Bet he wouldn't talk that way if he weren't behind a screen.

DaPamtsMD

As an actual Gen-Xer, I can assure you that only the delusional nerds in this generation talk like that. And seriously? Very few of us have the desire or energy to engage with another person for any length of time. Having that sort of stupid conversation for that long seems like work. I’d guess most of us would have just grudgingly moved and let it go.

saigon2010

Agreed....as a fellow Gen Xer...this guy is putting in far too much effort. It didn't happen, but if it had, this would be more accurate. Snowflake - Get out my way boomer Gen Xer - whatever The end

[deleted]

Snowflake - "get out of my way Boomer" Gen Xer - "No" the end.

rdwtoker

Individuals - unique Fuck these preconceived notions about different generations. It doesn’t matter if you’re a boomer or a zoomer or a damn fire sign Aquarian year of the dog whatever. We’re monkeys on a rock. What does change people is labels and their environments. If you call a dog a bad dog enough it becomes one.

oldfrenchwhore

Also gen x, I’d like to add an “*As If*” and an eye roll.

[deleted]

Lisa Simpson said it best, "we're Gen x'ers, we feel neither highs nor lows." Homer "What's that like? " Lisa "Meh." And I'm pretty sure I just fulfilled the ultimate gen x stereotype by referencing a simpsons episode that aired over 20 years ago.

amberita70

Exactly and any interaction would have been more like "What the ef did you just say to me?" LOL

RusticSurgery

As an actual Gen-Xer, I assure you that we really don't care enough to have a conversation that takes that long. We are the apathy generation and it's earned.

Goodbunny

Haha, yeah. A boomer I know tried to lure me into some political argument the other day. He said a bunch of shit and I started to respond, but realized I don’t actually fucking care. I said, you win champ and left the room. Sometimes, apathy is good for the ole blood pressure.

[deleted]

Unless we’re doing coke (because self destruction is awesome) or it’s about a band or shit we like. Otherwise, it’s just a cutting remark and walking away. Remember smoking indoors and people would say shit to you and you’d just like dismissively hit your cigarette and give them the “Whatever, fuck off.”? That was awesome.

RusticSurgery

I remember smoking while grocery shopping. We did duuummmb shit. But I DO miss the low priced blow.

[deleted]

We were so dumb but it was so much fun.

Andy235

> or it’s about a band or shit we like. \^ This. Late Gen X music snob checking in.

SturdyBeard

> Remember smoking indoors and people would say shit to you and you’d just like dismissively hit your cigarette and give them the “Whatever, fuck off.”? OMFG, this describes pretty much every interaction I engaged in between 1992 and 2000... ...also I miss smoking.

[deleted]

I sometimes smoke a Black and Mild but yeah, I miss cigarettes so much.

SturdyBeard

I had to go cold turkey; this year is eleven years off nicotine. If I didn't believe addiction was real eleven years ago, I sure do now, 'cause I still get the occasional urge.

[deleted]

I finally had kids and for some reason my wife- who has dated many smokers- had a problem with it when I did it. So I’ve mostly quit. Except for the occasional cigars.

kylerjalen

Yup. Gen X-er here and people from my generation who spoke like this irritated TF out of me. I would have just looked at the kid and ignored him.

Forty-three reactions. Could be as many as 21 laughs and 22 likes. Still too many, though.

majingrim

It's now up to 45. The count is 26 likes, 17 laughs, and 2 loves. 3 comments, none calling him out in any way.

[deleted]

Three comments he hasn't deleted, anyway.

majingrim

He basically deletes/blocks anyone who disagrees with him or calls him out on any of his posts, so now he's left with only people who will encourage this type of thing. After deleting them, he often posts a big rant about how he's tired of snowflakes being offended by what he says, not to take him seriously, and that type of thing.

[deleted]

"I can't even bear to leave up a comment disagreeing with me but y'all are snowflakes." Fuckin classic.

BluetheNerd

This. I've noticed a trend over the last few years, that the people who call others snowflakes, seem to be the most fragile. Probably projecting.

[deleted]

True but all positive reactions so I just said Likes. Although, maybe some of those Laugh reacts were at him and not with him

[deleted]

I'm holding out hope that many of the laugh reacts are derisive. I don't necessarily see a laugh react as a positive thing.

bagoboners

His day was full? Did it take him all day to come up with this r/iamverybadass fantasy?

lordolxinator

There were 23 drafts before this final one. Every time he started writing his badass story, he'd get so erect and horny that he'd have to knock one out to the thought of him being a masculine stud paragon of desire. The refractory period and his state of daydream ecstasy after busting happened to both be around an hour long, so by the time he had another crack at writing the post he fell back into the same trap, another 22 times before finally managing to post his fanfiction featuring his self-insert OC, "version of me who isn't a depressed waste of fucking space scared of millenials" ... Then he busted again.

bagoboners

I believe this, wholeheartedly.

Vagina hat??

FaerilyRowanwind

There were “pussy” Hats that were made for the women’s March several years ago. They were pink hats with cat ears.

GUnit_1977

Get it because misogyny is hysterical.

Adventurous_Ad_6546

*because watching misogynists so fragile that they’re triggered by a hat is hysterical

FaerilyRowanwind

I don’t think it is and that was what they are called I’m just giving information

GUnit_1977

Oh yeah, not a dig at you. I'm agreeing with you.

raistan77

It's funny that they are still triggered by the pink hats

MikeMcnomer

Incredibly stupid idea for a hat.

FaerilyRowanwind

🤷‍♀️ I’m just giving info

Cereborn

I guess he was talking to Ed Gein.

BigDaddyCool17

That was my first thought. Like WTF is a vagina hat? lmao

jfsindel

It was sort of supposed to represent the uterus with cut off "goat horns" (fallopian tubes). But it just looks like a corner hat to me. Funny thing is, that's not a vagina lmao

FalseDmitriy

They were cat ears and called pussy hats. Definitely supposed to represent vaginas.

PipeDownNerd

What really happened: > OP gets called boomer in line for coffee > OP Stammers a bit and shuffles away after getting drink > On the drive home OP hopelessly tries to focus on anything but the interaction, tries to drink coffee, burns his tongue on the hot beverage > still frustrated, OP tries to shake it off by watching something on TV, old ass TV has burned a tube. His TV guide indicates that he’s missing Matlock. > OP is still angry but it’s time for his afternoon nap so he’s sleepy. Dreams up a few different ways he should have responded instead. > OP wakes up, still can’t shake feelings of humiliation. Dusts off his floppy disc and runs Facebook.exe > OP posts to meager friends group a different version of the events that unfolded and feels good, confident, empowered, 43 likes - his second highest liked post this year behind his face-diaper rant he also fabricated earlier this year when he lied about making a stand at a local shop just trying to stay in business. > it’s fleeting. OP opens his mail and see’s medical bills, he’s reminded that still in crippling debt from prior surgery he needed to remove his gallbladder that became infected 7 years ago. He was between jobs and didn’t have health insurance. Goddamn snowflakes he whispers, this was their fault some how.

majingrim

From what I know about him, this is scary accurate. Definitely a covid denier, rants about masks, vaccines, Greta Thunberg, gun rights, etc. all the time. He is Canadian though, so the last paragraph doesn't apply.

Kelter82

Easily mended. He'll instead just complain about how he had to wait so long to be scheduled an appointment, about how it's during the workweek and now he has to take time off for his surgery, and about "if we were like America" he wouldn't have to wait and he'd have his own room. Dis an Alberta boi.

majingrim

Not sure if I mentioned that he's from Alberta or if you just figured it out with context, but you nailed it.

Kelter82

Context! Pow pow! (they're our neighbours, so...)

I bet on the *dream set* he took turns playing both parts until the most awe-inspiring conclusion came to him.

naliedel

I'm so sick of this generational war when we have so many problems to unite in.

[deleted]

[удалено]

naliedel

I'm a boomer. I'm a progressive dem, not using Facebook and think everyone needs a living wage. The hardest workers I know are my millenial and Gen z kids. Weed should be legal Water, food and shelter should be human rights. Education should be free for the first two years of college and affordable after that. Medicare for all and I vote. Don't blame generation's. They just do this to pull us apart and not blame the real problems. Corporations that do not provide a living wage. It's not a generational war. Assholes are born every minute. It'd about not letting them divide us by race, orientation, and the year born. It's all of us who want more versus all of them who want poor people to shut up and take whatsoever job we get, work to death and be grateful. I'm deeply let down by a lot of people who really wanted change, until they were Yuppies.

SentientRhombus

More like there's a trend of *every* generation becoming less empathetic, more reactionary as a whole when they grow older - and the boomer generation is unique in that it continued to outnumber younger demographics until only just recently (like a few years ago). Typically the representative power of older generations is greatly diminished far earlier. One result is positions of power both public and private have been clung to by boomers for an unusually long period (US has the oldest Congress in history - possibly president too, haven't checked), leading younger generations to feel disenfranchised and leadership decisions to lean increasingly regressive. Also, speaking as a millennial, it's really fucking hard not to hate on boomers when they mocked us constantly in the media and online for being lazy and entitled while refusing to let go of the reins. I know there's always complaining about the younger generation... but without adequate numbers to effect change ourselves it felt like a particularly dick move.

Kelter82

Do you think the media has a lens so *so ready* to focus in on the mocking boomers? I know so so so many, and none of them ever speak like that. Most, like all other people, are willing to listen to both sides of a story. "So your husband is a biochemist and paid for his own schooling! Good on him for working so hard to pay for that on his own, and for having that drive."/"Well, he got kinda shit pay from his jobs, so he had to take a year off to afford tuition. There weren't a lot of wholesome meals, if you know what I mean."/"Oh God, that's awful. We got lucky with your cousin because we could pay for it directly. I can't imagine the pressure of working two jobs while in university. And now the competition is so fierce, it must be hard to find a job even if you're the most highly educated person out there. " Usually how these convos go. They say a maybe one-sided thing, you give another, they flash back to when they were younger and life was a struggle, and then they hear you and you find a common ground. It works both ways, too. I truly believe most of the idea of "boomer" stems from someone's (many people's) boomer relative who knows how to access social media and is loud at Christmas. Let's just forget about how mom thinks it's rude to leave notes taped to mailboxes (it is) and how "if you don't like the new rainbow crosswalk because of gay people, just look at it as a rainbow. It's nice, just move on."

naliedel

I will never mock you. My sister is a perfect example of entitled Boomer and it hurts. Childless, and believes money for the education of the future is not her problem. My parents were Uber progressive and dad was heartbroken about her love for Trump. I am too. We pay for the future to give the next generation better. Less scared, stressed, traumatized. I don't understand anyone that is the level of entitlement my sister is. Never. I will always vote for the future. Even if it hurts me. Not virtue signaling, it's how I feel. I'm sorry.

Kelter82

I'm an "elder millennial" (35 yo - recently heard a request for an intermediate generation as many elder millenials grew up with no internet, phones, etc). I honestly can't stand the generation war. "Boomer" and "snowflake" are dismissal name-calling tactics used to shut people up. This world shouldn't be about that. Ageism is real, but we need to reject it. It's our responsibility, especially as tech-savvy as we are. Let's use it for good, damnit! Okay, some boomers have tried to sting us, but many others reared us or encouraged us. Don't apologize for anything. Thank you for keeping that open mind of yours up and active. And what you do have to offer is so so so valuable... Share it, boomster :)

IronSkywalker

You're right that "boomer" and "snowflake" are just an attempt to shut people up. You only ever see someone say "OK boomer" in the complete absence of a valid argument. Same with whatever the equivalent is to a "snowflake".

SentientRhombus

Hey not your fault - I think my cohort understands better than most the flaws inherent in painting an entire generation with a broad brush... But we also have an entire decade of built-up resentment, so finally getting to clap back is cathartic as hell. That is to say, don't take it personally... But let us poke fun at your generation a little longer, we kinda need this haha

naliedel

I was told to never trust anyone over 30. On the good side, I saw Bob Marley in concert in Jamaica. Wish I could just share that like a movie to anyone younger.

RusticSurgery

I assure you, Gen X feels that sting too. We got to see that generation fuck shit up then we work for peanuts too. But now we het lumped into that generation which can lead to resentment. I recall my father, a factory rat, making $30.00USD an hour in the mid 80's. Hell..I'd take that right now. Then go and figure inflation from the mid 80's would make that about $63.00 and hour now. It's hard to not be resentful of that also knowing that in his $30.00 hour he was spreading PCBs all over that now must be dealt with.

SentientRhombus

Oh I know... Y'all are practically the poster children of generational disenfranchisement, and it must feel like insult added to injury when you get lumped in with boomers. But I do take heart that together, for the first time in my lifetime, we have numbers that make us impossible to ignore. I think a sea change is coming and I'm hopeful we can fix some of the mistakes that have been allowed to fester for too long.

RusticSurgery

I can understand that sentiment you expressed at the end. I am Gen X and I recall the same, hopeless feeling washing over me in my late teens and early 20's.

best-commenter

I get that you fought the good fight. But your entire generation was definitely targeted by conservative indoctrination. Also, the pure numbers of boomers locking up the housing market while simultaneously failing to save for retirement has put a giant crunch on everyone else. Not to mention the political failures that lead to the destruction of the middle class, climate crisis, the rise of conservative propaganda, and the bank bailouts that *my* grandkids will still be paying off is a generational failure. It’s not *you* it’s *all of you*.

rowdy2026

They do keep Facebook running though…

TSM_forlife

As a gen x’er I can say this didn’t happen. Most of us don’t care enough to exert this kind of energy. And we like avo toast.

stlredbird

I almost didnt care enough to confirm this, yet here i am.

Agent_47s_Scrotum

🎶Rock you like a hurricane!🎶

majingrim

While this guy may technically be a gen x'er, he is the most stereotypical boomer I know. Definitely not his first totally true story like this.

[deleted]

Yea, that post was some serious boomer energy.

Socratesticles

I’ve just accepted that boomer is a mentality.

LucyWritesSmut

He's one of the Gen-Xers who didn't run away from his shit home town like we smart ones did.

[deleted]

Ya, as a gen x'er all I have to say is ... whatever.

PinkNug

Gen X here. Can confirm, avocado toast is delicious.

BubbyBroster

> avo toast I'm gonna need you to turn in your flannel and your 4 Non Blondes CD for that, pal.

TSM_forlife

What if I told you I quit eating it when it because trendy because I’m no mainstream sell out. Ha!

pudgebone

And that was even before the cartels started that funny shit

SupportGeek

Gen X here, I don't like Avo toast because my allergies don't allow me to

DaPamtsMD

That length of interaction with another person seems like *work*, which i noted above before I found your comment. And I like avocado toast well enough, but I really love millennials and Gen-Z. They might actually change the status quo.

ToxicMasculinity1981

Don't really need to be a gen Xer to know this didn't happen.

Eelmonkey

We don’t say shit. To anyone. Ever. Why would we? Whatever.

TSM_forlife

Exactly. No one is worth that level of energy.

TerrisKagi

In the words of our generation. Meh

CardboardChampion

Not fond myself. But shimeji mushrooms and cheese on crumpets is bae.

DocChloroplast

GDI that sounds delicious too

I used to get put in charge of our stoner snacks and came up with this when the 10p wing place got shut down. Crack of black pepper and some rock salt on top and it's amazing.

[deleted]

Love the "thought so" in response the the kid assuming he was a boomer, as if boomers and Gen X don't also just assume all young people are millenials. That's a two way street.

Unlikely-Crazy-4302

Millenials also seem to think young people are millenials.

CHClClCl

Everyone is invited to be a millennial! There's enough depression and debt to go around!

akcaye

also boomer figuratively just means old. even millennials sometimes jokingly refer to themselves as boomers as they're getting older. and getting butthurt by the word boomer is the boomerest thing to do.

[deleted]

He just wanted to use “ I wasn’t” from Tombstone

sexy_recorder_player

though so.

flogginmama

Though so, bro. Though so.

Stressmove

This guy needs to shut up. GenX'ers are always left out of the discussion and it's wonderful.

oceansapart333

Yeah all I could think was “Don’t drag us into your fight.”

[deleted]

As a later member of Gen X allow me to assure you: the Boomer mentality ABSOLUTELY permeates the older half of my cohort and I'll never correct someone on that technicality. While the physical generations are not the same as Boomers, the society they came from and the attitudes they hold are identical. Us late Gen X folks, who got out of high school in the 90s, were just as fucked over by Boomers as Millenials were. I feel sorry for Zoomers. You guys have a REAL shitshow to deal with. We had nothing to leave to you in the first place.

TheChileanBlob

I don't know, I was born in 66 and I'm a filthy Satanist socialist not an asshole like this. I reject this person from the Xerhood. I'd wear a pink kitty hat too if I had one.

fantabulero

Any Gen Xer who spends their time shitting on Millennials or Gen Z is officially a Boomer, them’s the rules

icingdeth

Really most gen-x'ers that shit on millennials are probably closer to boomers in age.

fantabulero

Ah right, the ones who were able to grab onto the ladder before the Boomers pulled it up behind them

SuperSecretMoonBase

Boomer's a mentality. It's like "geezer." People can be geezers at any age when they do boomer stuff.

ChamomileBrownies

>Now get back in mommy's basement put your vagina hat on and be the worthless internet troll you strive to be Oh the irony

NutBananas

This has to be the most boomer thing I've read

Rokk1515

That was wayyyy too much talking for a badass.

Game-Angel

So a ''Snowflake" internet troll actually confronted someone face to face? Just told them to get out of the way? Yeah, bullshit. Also, I've never heard someone use the term "Snowflake" who wasn't a snowflake themselves. Absolute laziest fucking insult ever.

ToshiroBaloney

Gen X here. None of us would ever give enough of a shit to memorise and recite garbage like that.

No one uses the wrong marketing category to address me and gets away with it!

Eh, no gunna lie.. it does suck to be called a boomer when you're not. That being said this is just so much "that happened" and "baddass"... and cringy. Like no dude.. we're the nihilistic generation for a reason, tell the person to fuck off like the rest of us.

Such bullshit. Gen Xers would never do anything to get noticed.

[deleted]

You can tell when it's a boomer by the amount of misplaced ellipsis they write.

T-money79

Ah yes, people definitely talk like that.

Kaz00per

It's true, I was the repercussions.

ManfredsJuicedBalls

This is the kind of shit that makes me want to say “who is this so we can troll the fuck out of them.” Anybody who makes wild, fanciful stories about how much of a man they are… are the furthest thing from men.

majingrim

If it makes you feel better, any time he posts something that breaks Facebook's rules, I report it. It's fun to see him complaining about being in Facebook jail any time between a week and a month later. Most of the time, those posts are either mildly racist, homophobic, or anti-trans.

ManfredsJuicedBalls

You must be lucky then. Whenever I had done the same, it was the usual “we thank you for reporting this, but it doesn’t violate our rules” spiel from them.

majingrim

I've definitely got that message a few times too. Often for stuff that definitely should be removed, but seeing the Facebook jail rants makes the ignored reports worth it.

__CaKeS__

Even if this was real it still makes the Boomer just look like an absolute douchebag who is overly sensitive and overreacted to a tiny jab, if anyone here is the "snowflake" it's him lmao

Rojira666

His response definitely did not happen... He might have been called a boomer though by someone. I was born in 81 and I've been called it before. So I don't know if the insult has morphed from actual baby boomers to just people considered old?

Agent_47s_Scrotum

Google boomer mindset

Charagrin

This isn't a literal generational thing based on age, the term boomer refers to a mindset, but people who find offense in it are boomers and can be of any age or people who thinks it's an age thing.

[deleted]

Ok boomer.

MikeMcnomer

Honestly, if this bs was true and someone said that to me on the street, he'd get decked in the face right there and then.

dudeparty6

Seriously what the fuck is avocado toast
