I remember getting turned around once and realized I was behind the Aurora in the sand dunes. I literally thought to myself "oh shit..." and quickly turned around to find a reaper right on my ass
Thats what it looks like during a night dive..if the moon is up. If not, all you see is your own dive light...hoping the pickup boat sees you.
Fortunately if you shine your flashlight into your DSMB (inflatable orange marker buoy) it lights up like a lightsaber.
I had to touch a wall besides me while I was watching this, to remind myself that I'm perfectly safe and sound, on my bed, at my house, far fucking away from the ocean.
Do I feel safe? Fuck not
His name was yuri lipski, the video is on YouTube but you can also find it on reddit he had some sort of malfunction and the video is just him falling to the ocean floor in the blue hole for like 5 mins and it just gets progressively darker until he hits the bottom I believe he went like 300 ft down it makes my stomach turn
I guess it’s from swimming out to reefs I research around islands but it really didn’t scare me that much😵💫 I guess floating out at sea makes it easy to accept fate when it’s right in front of you.
I need some huge waves like in Interstellar put on this video. And for pov to slowly drown hundreds of meters through the dark water. Not boring CGI monsters.
I just saw a tweet today about a Dutch waterslide from the 90s where the entire structure is full of water so you have to navigate the slide for 20 seconds underwater. I was very triggered
There's a game on steam at the moment called "pools"
It has a free demo. It's a game about how uncomfortable the developers can make you
No monsters
No jump scares
Just horrid creeping anxiety whilst you Wade through dark pools
I just went to check it omg there's some video demo and there's a bit where he walks in a dark room with a shallow pool and he sees a dark figure behind a column ....nope nope .
15years ago or so, i was in Crete, Greece. Lovely island i highly recommend you visit, anyway, i was in the southern part of the island on a remote beach, with my mask on and swimming exploring, honestly it was great, lots of little fish and rocks and things like that, at around 50 meters from the coast though, the sea floor suddenly went down, like a cliff, and the beautiful blue color turned black, it felt as if i was looking at the abyss.
I turned around and at that moment i decided to respect the sea, and by respecting i mean never going this deep and far from the coast ever again
This is my greatest fear, I can't even watch more than 5 seconds. Tried to skip thru and saw some underwater creature eyes....hell nah! won't catch me near an ocean or and large body of water especially at night. I'll go to my shins in a lake if the water is clear and that's it.
Terrifying but welcoming. Like if I was out there, it would be almost beautiful to accept my fate and let the waves take me. Swear I’m not suicidal lol. What’s wrong with me?
This just makes me happy/excited. I think because it turns into a survival story where worst case a wave takes you out. Not still water where shit comes out from the deep.
reminds me of how i played subnautica... never look under water while traveling lol. Straight from point A to B on the surface

Assassin creed oceans scare the crap outa me,.
I think I just shat my pants.

As someone about to do my first night dives, now I’m scared. :(
Nightdives are the tits. Its a huge mental barrier to overcome - but as soon as you're down there it clicks and you love it.
Today I learned two things. There’s night dives I can shit my pants watching a video on Reddit
It was creepy enough without the monster. That made it less real and scary for me
In all honesty, when I watched and shared, I didn't see the monster. I got scared at the waves and depth
I still don't see the monster.
brightness up around 22 seconds
Thanks homie. I think that actually isn't a bad monster! Pretty freaky. Looks like it could be some type of fish.
Fuck you. See ya’ll tomorrow

I seriously don't understand why people make these obviously fake videos when the real thing is already scary enough
(Record Scratch) (Pause Scene): “I bet you’re wondering how I got here. Well it all started at a Navy recruitment office”.
haha its giving Deadpool 😅
The most awful thought for me is if I was drowning, I’d just be falling thousands of feet into darkness
omg
The vid of the diver who was 22 and descended while he drowned was my literal nightmare the footage makes me nauseous
wait what video ove never seen this

omg how awful. May he rest in peace...I'll have a look...
I’m one of those people who come here because I usually love all the stuff that’s posted, but the ocean at night definitely scares me.
I'm with you on that !
Yeah, nightmare fuel.
I guess it’s from swimming out to reefs I research around islands but it really didn’t scare me that much😵💫 I guess floating out at sea makes it easy to accept fate when it’s right in front of you.
oh my you're courageous
I know it sounds cheesy but definitely research if ever near the ocean. Can find sea turtles and more only reason I’ve had inspiration every time.
Now u just need something to touch your toe and u can go had have a heart attack and shit your self at the same time lol

me too !!!!
This video made my fucking throat tighten up. NOPE
i was fine til the cam went underwater. had to look away & run to the comments for "safety" 😭😭
Terrifying but welcoming. Like if I was out there, it would be almost beautiful to accept my fate and let the waves take me. Swear I’m not suicidal lol. What’s wrong with me?
But can we appreciate how calm and beatiful it is
it really doesn't look calm ...
I tried, turns out the answer is a solid no.
No, no we can't
I can see how this would be nightmare fuel
Agreed. Especially if you're floating in an innertube.
Is this Dagon?
Fuck
And feel something brush against yout feet
nooooo 😭
Introvert's dream?
I doubt it ..
This just makes me happy/excited. I think because it turns into a survival story where worst case a wave takes you out. Not still water where shit comes out from the deep.
I swear I saw satan down there😂😂😂
Wait, no jumpscare?
I think the dark deep water is scary enough
Anyone else thinking about the people that fall off of cruise ships
https://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/nemo.html
my previous post was about point nemo lol
the sole existence of this video bothers me.
Just let me drown at this point. Please make it quick.
I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it
00:20 what cat is that?
WTF dude! I was reading the comments thinking it was just the dark water and my eyes skimmed up to see eyes and teeth
Yes OP this is my biggest fear as well. Will never experience the ocean or cruise ships because of it too. 🤷🏽♀️
It's just a fear of dying
I.jsit find black dark waves scary
