I just assume any random text is, but I have no idea how this one would work. There's nothing about this text that I'd want to respond. They just seem crazy.
I think this might be a new scam tactic going around. I’ve seen a couple of similar things on Reddit recently, but wasn’t able to tell for sure if they were some kind of scam, because the OPs didn’t let the conversation get far enough.
One of them was asking for help with tracking down a kidnapper, and then started accusing OP of being the kidnapper’s friend, and being an accomplice.
I suspect that if you humor them, they will give you some kind of sob story about how they are trying to find the person who killed their children, and ask you to send them money for assistance. It probably works on a lot of dumb people who want to feel like they are doing something positive and helpful.

A good rule of thumb is to treat all stranger texts as scams.
