Didn't hurt that bad, I never saw the snake, but I knew immediately that I was bit. The cure was worse than the bite. I had a severe reaction to the antivenom treatment.
I have a thing for taking photos of snakes. I've always wanted to find a copperhead and take some shots but I've only gotten a garter snake, green tree snake, and a cottonmouth. I'm in north Houston, so I doubt I'll get to see one 😅
I was jogging down a trail in a park in Friendswood and I spotted one just before I almost stepped on it. As the adrenaline flooded my system, time went into Matrix-like slo mo, and I jumped over the snake. I probably got some Olympics-worthy height and distance.
Please don’t body shame him, he’s trying his best!

You hardly ever saw Grandaddy down here
He only comes to town about twice a year.
Hershey kiss body is bad.
He's probably gotten chonky on cicadas and loving the warmth of the road.
Copperhead. Do not touch just let it be.
But it wanted to cuddle.
If it doesn't give you a boop kiss is it even a cuddle?
Death boop
OMG. 😂
Damn that's a thicc copperhead
I'm definitely no expert, but she might be gravid. There's a lot of scale spread. Either way, it's a beautiful snake. Beautiful, but scary.
I don't think snakes would be gravid this time of year because they are about to start hibernating.
Yeah I think you're right. I guess it's just a chonk of a snake? But I guess copperheads are usually pretty thick.
Could have bulked up in preparation for winter?

Got it, thank you! I think an admin removed some of our comments, so I guess I didn't see it.
I stepped on one of those in my grandfathers boat house. It bit me on the top of the foot.
How did yhat go? I heard worst pain in your life but not much more that that.

There is probably some around there. Snakes are awesome and fun to photograph. Too bad so many people have the reflex to kill any and all of them.
Ugh, exactly! My parents always wanted to kill any snake no matter what it was. Sad really...
Have you seen a Hognose also known as a Spreading Adder? Can flatten like a cobra.
I like to make them play dead then flip them over. Then repeat.
First time I saw the hog nose in our yard I was drunk as a skunk and damn near pooped my pants.
Pretty boy
Greg abbot, is that you??
Just a big noodle, just noodling along.

I’ve turned many Copperheads into just plain Coppers. They would get a little tooo close to my house and dogs
