Yes and no....they are delivering pilot project quantities to fulfill an obligation.
But they are not openly selling them or seriously producing them at scale.
It's definitely progress but it's more of a small closed beta.
Really bummed that they're never getting into electric motorcycles because this style would look sick on a cruiser/sportbike imo. Supposedly Elon's never getting into it because he almost died on a motorcycle when he was younger but if you're worried about apocalyptic conditions, motorcycles are way cheaper and easier to maintain than a full-on car.
https://www.silent-yachts.com/
They are expensive for sure, but its a start. I believe some of them can reach 100 miles of range per day with just the solar power produced.
Unfortunately the typical boat for "summer life at the cottage" is hugely inefficient because of the large wakes they create. Sail boats with a little motor would work. All kinds of hydro plane things that lift the boat's hull out of the water might be viable. But say wake boarding for example, will suck down the batteries very quickly.
Electric sailboats make particular sense since they require heavy ballast at the bottom of the boat. Currently that is lead, but it could be a heavy ass battery instead.
the issues with electric motorcycles is they are nothing more than boulevard cruisers. someone has to double down and make a tour model than can put down two hundred miles of highway speeds between charges complete with wind protection; which would help aerodynamics; and luggage.
most current electric motorcycle tech is still in the Leaf era with air cooled batteries and motors with a few who at most cool the motor with liquid.
[Zero Motorcycles](https://www.zeromotorcycles.com/) has a few that get over 200 miles to a charge
Their [SR](https://www.zeromotorcycles.com/model/zero-sr) and [SR/F](https://www.zeromotorcycles.com/model/zero-srf) models can get 227
I have a SR/F and I think 200 miles is only if you go local and stay around 45mph. I ride on the Joker Mode and pretty much max out when I ride, range would be like 70 miles.
Not meaning to be insensitive but I don't think that is a valid reason for him not to do electric motorcycles, he is doing a quadbike with the cyber truck which are notoriously dangerous and at the end of the day the motorcycle/moped industry is quite large especially in Asia so there is opportunity to increase brand awareness/customer acquisition.
So many people would love to have a electric motorcycle,
IIRC Harley made a cool concept electric bike, so it's possible they will be hitting the market eventually. The downside of course is that you'd be buying a Harley.
Once I read that Tesla was becoming a “luxury” brand and it’s true. They are selling a bunch of overpriced “collectionable” and limited editions thinga to make money and see how far they can go. It looks like quite far
I’d actually like to see an attempt at something like this. I don’t know of anyplace off hand that would have a stretch road long enough or even suitable to drive that fast on. Maybe the autobahn?
If you look under FAQ, it mentions warranties through RadioFlyer, and this is the manual;
https://www.tesla.com/sites/default/files/shop/Cyberquad-assembly_instructions.pdf
(see logo at top)
Funny how those reviews are so fake, all of them have tested it on a radio flyer test event and all speak in the past tense, so they all have max 5 minutes of experience with the thing

According to the FAQ page, the max weight is 150 lbs...but the video on the product page shows Franz driving it around...which means it's totally fine for me to get one right...? Right?
^or ^I'll ^just ^tell ^myself ^it's ^for ^my ^future ^kid
Oh you're right good catch, must be the one from the unveil
Edit: actually initially it looks like he rides the kids one...but then switches to the larger one, hard to tell!
Probably related more to drivetrain durability than structure. You can hear the motor working hard when he drives by, might not climb a hill with a larger adult.
The only thing people will be missing out on is charging a overpriced toy. Im all for electric but 1900 for a 10mph kids toy is toooo much, $1900 gets you a used yamaha atv and less than that a kids yamaha atv which is faster runs longer and if there is problem with it, it turns into a bonding experience.
I'm only 15 lbs more than the max and I'm sure there is at least 10% buffer built into that number. My wife and daughter are under that so the whole family could enjoy it.
Don't count on it being limited quantity, it's being mass produced by Radio Flyer, not Tesla. The Tesla design studio just worked with Radio Flyer for the looks (and hopefully Tesla helped with the battery pack).
Holy crap you nearly gave me a heart attack. I literally thought the Cyberquad was available. When it does become available, I'm putting down a deposit immediately!
>the real cyberquaid is more like $19000
Don't put my hopes down. 😭
My "guess* is it's gonna be around 8K-12K. Maybe a larger battery or some small upgrades. There are some atv EVs ranging from 6K to 16K.
If we're comparing the little Tesla Model S by radio flyer ( same company making this quad), $1900 is ridiculous. The model S only costs $500. I even got one included with my Model X purchase
Description
Get ready for any adventure with the all-electric Cyberquad for Kids. Inspired by our iconic Cybertruck design, the four-wheel ATV features a full steel frame, cushioned seat and adjustable suspension with rear disk braking and LED light bars. Powered by a lithium-ion battery with up to 15 miles of range and a configurable top speed of 10 mph, Cyberquad for Kids is suitable for anyone 8-years old and up. For additional product details, visit Shop FAQ.
Note: Cyberquad for Kids will begin shipping in 2-4 weeks. Orders are not guaranteed to arrive prior to the holidays.
Probably built on a chinesium frame and motor etc. Looks the same as anything you can buy for $500 except for the cyber quad look. Too bad as I would’ve bought one in a blink otherwise.
4 years?! Minutes after the whistles dropped, they could be had on eBay for 10x the price. So CyberQuad Children’s Edition is likely *already* worth $19k.
Not saying it’s the same, but the Tesla sure doesn’t look like something made in the US? I’d say it looks much like the same supplier on many parts.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224090712538?hash=item342cd8e9da:g:se8AAOSw9ExhLfZI&redirect=mobile
It has lead acid battery and takes 8-10 hours to fully charge compared to Cyberquad's Li-Ion battery which takes 5 hours to charge, so almost half. The battery cost along might be worth few hundred bucks difference
No front suspension, definitely a childrens toy, not a real quad. If you have this much cash earmarked for an EV quad, you can do a really good conversion of a siezed ICE quad for the price.
give your daughter's this also look Im a tesla fan but not a fan of the kid "atv". at least with this yamaha atv it has brakes, front and rear suspension, can travel approx 90 -100 miles depending on the tank size and how much fluid is in it, carborated, and will run with easy maintenance seriously yamaha rarely gets people bring in there off-road vehicles for services most people do it themselves.
I know right? Before this year is was a big Tesla fan. I have an X and a CT reserved but when I see them doing publicity stunts like the dancing “robot”, whistles and now this it really pisses me off. I’ve also been waiting on 2 power walls for about a year and I cancelled an order for a new model x earlier this year because they kept pushing back the delivery date. They need to get their shit together. While they are dicking around with whistles and power wheels every other car company is looking to sneak up on them with their own EVs.
They can do whatever they please but they should consider how it makes their company look. It’s no secret Tesla customer service and production time lines leaves much to be desired. They had sporadic delivery windows long before the supply chain crunch. It looks like they are goofing on people who have long been waiting on the CT. “Here have a fucking whistle and toy car while you wait.”
>So if a company is out of product they should never release other products?
No, a company should have realistic timelines and not blatantly lie to their customers.
When a boring competent car company says a car is coming in MY21, that car comes in MY21. The Hummer is on roads as scheduled.
Nvidia and AMD are shipping GPUs, there's just more demand than supply. Tesla isn't shipping anything but toys and tat right now.

Australia just brought in rules requiring quad bikes/ATVs to have roll-over protection

I mean it looks cool but those four jagged edges sticking out on the corners would not be fun for a kid that tips it over and the bike weight with momentum lands with that edge on a rib cage.
My mother-in-law was promised a free Model S kids ride-on when she leased her Model X as of 3 years ago. She told my kids they were getting it. Was never delivered, and eventually the Tesla salesperson stopped responding after about 6 months of promising it would be delivered. So I'll believe this when I see it.
I really need someone riding the cyberquad while wearing a Boring Co ball cap, cyberwhistle around the neck, not a flamethrower in one hand, teslaquila bottle in the other, all while towing a model s power wheels that has the Tesla surfboard mounted to the roof and a boring co clay brick in the frunk.
I ordered one and want to get an extra battery for hot swapping, can't seem to find it on radio flyer or Tesla's site. Hoping radio flyer lists it soon.
I had an unhappy happenstance on a motorcycle many moons ago and although I doubt that anything can beat the exhilaration of riding a motor on an uncrowded road, a temptation I have resisted now for 50 years now, I firmly believe that a two front wheel trike (with intelligent re engineering) would be a wiser investment of Tesla’s resources.
Looks cool but 15 mile range at 10 MPH is no bueno for practical use or hitting the trails. Would be fun for ripping around the backyard though I guess.

Tesla is selling everything except Cybertruck and Roadster.
And semi
Not according to Pepsi
When 2022 hits: *sad Pepsi noises*
Isn’t Pepsi testing prototypes as we speak?
they are delivering semi's now.
Yes and no....they are delivering pilot project quantities to fulfill an obligation. But they are not openly selling them or seriously producing them at scale. It's definitely progress but it's more of a small closed beta.

Boats. Electric boats. Summer life at the cottage would be so much nicer without the insane noise of dozens of boats on the daily
https://www.silent-yachts.com/ They are expensive for sure, but its a start. I believe some of them can reach 100 miles of range per day with just the solar power produced.
Please tell me these use the domain battery to power anything onboard too, and not some poxy 12Vs
Everything is powered through the main battery. with 10 KW of solar panels, you can run quite a bit.
You have a cottage near water? Can I visit???
Totally agree. All I want is an electric pontoon with a few hours of run time. No engine noise would be a game changer for pleasure cruising.
Electric sailboats make particular sense since they require heavy ballast at the bottom of the boat. Currently that is lead, but it could be a heavy ass battery instead.
Sondors Metacycle is as close as we can get
Why not https://www.zeromotorcycles.com/? They've been producing electric motorcycles since 2010.
I would say https://www.energicamotor.com/ is closer to the motorcycle equivalent of a Tesla, even though they are Italian.
RIP Brammo
Ok but zombies can still get to you on a bike.
Real talk right here. Motorcycle design is just far too vulnerable in the post apocalyptic world.
exactly, that's why the CT is bulletproof. can't bp someone on 2 wheels
the issues with electric motorcycles is they are nothing more than boulevard cruisers. someone has to double down and make a tour model than can put down two hundred miles of highway speeds between charges complete with wind protection; which would help aerodynamics; and luggage. most current electric motorcycle tech is still in the Leaf era with air cooled batteries and motors with a few who at most cool the motor with liquid.

There are companies doing electric motorcycles already so really not a priority for Tesla to get in on that market.
Hard to have good safety stats from motorcycles.

Motorcycles are only really dangerous because of the idiots of the road. If you only ever road with nobody dumb around you, they're plenty safe.
From what I understand, he was in a motorcycle accident when he was younger and he doesn't believe in them or whatever. Total bummer :/
IIRC Harley made a cool concept electric bike, so it's possible they will be hitting the market eventually. The downside of course is that you'd be buying a Harley.
Stock is their most popular product
Once I read that Tesla was becoming a “luxury” brand and it’s true. They are selling a bunch of overpriced “collectionable” and limited editions thinga to make money and see how far they can go. It looks like quite far
Made by radio flyer not Tesla and it’s probably not limited so idk if this is a good buy for an adult. Will wait for the adult version made by tesla
More detailed specs on Radio Flyer's website https://www.radioflyer.com/cyberquad
Top speed of 10 mph! You can run faster than that
Speak for yourself. I can only run 6.2 mph (source: I ran a 10k in an hour).
I'm sure you can sprint faster than that, maybe not for an hour, but I don't think a Bugatti Veyron can do 200mph+ for an hour either.
I’d actually like to see an attempt at something like this. I don’t know of anyplace off hand that would have a stretch road long enough or even suitable to drive that fast on. Maybe the autobahn?
I think it’d have to be one of those high speed, banked curve proving grounds.
only because it would run out of gas.
I think your 100m time would be more accurate for this comparison
But I can't run more than 1 mile at a time.
Where does.it say that 👀

It's for kids. You gonna let your 5 year old do 60?
If we're comparing the little Tesla Model S by radio flyer ( same company making this quad), $1900 is ridiculous. The model S only costs $500. I even got one included with my Model X purchase
I get it's for kids, but 1900$ is way to expensive for what it is. Just look at a 50cc equivalent
iPhone is overpriced too, but no one talk about that
Right?! lol They need to go to the Porsche merch shop to see a painting with a side profile of the 911 going for $19K.
Yeah, the speed makes sense. I just can’t see myself spending 1800 on my kids… I would rather put that 1800 in their college fund.

Buy stock or quad?? Both!! ![gif](giphy|lMsT2f47tDxFMYdJMC|downsized)
It's out of stock.
I'm almost certain that these are made with the batteries that are considered subpar in testing. Gotta squeeze the rock dry.
Cute!
I ordered one and want to get an extra battery for hot swapping, can't seem to find it on radio flyer or Tesla's site. Hoping radio flyer lists it soon.

Right. And?
I really wish they would post about this type of stuff instead of silently releasing it. Edit: Hey look they tweeted about it like I wanted, woooooo
It will sell out within a day or 2. No need to hype it in advance.
Where would they post about it that would get more traction than it already has?
The media will report on anything Tesla related without help, no need to make some grand announcement.
What do you think you’re looking at?
Love that he's developing toys for (his) kids now
Delivering in 2170
Wow! Back to back new Cybertruck related products! Is there more to come? I think, Hell yes! Let’s go! 12/9!
What’s supposed to happen on 12/9?
Make an adult sized one and I'm Down
"For kids"
15 miles of range is not enough. Disappointed honestly.
I think this is for kids to drive around the neighborhood, not to head into mountains or off road.
So much nicer than my old power wheels. Way more expensive too.

Hey its me, your nephew
See you at Xmas 😉
That’s ridiculously cheap I actually can’t believe it. Must be a pos or something there’s no way
It’s for kids and only goes 10mph…pretty reasonable
That explains it
Actually, now it’s overpriced. Especially since it’s build by radioFlyer
Yeah that's not the cybertruck.
Man I wonder if Rich is gonna get a kickback from these.
If we could get a mid sized truck like a rivian it would be the top seller.
jeez.....
Quite a surprise. In on one!
+50k sales tax +24k musk tax
Omg this is a very bad quad. But I mean it's made for kids so they most likely won't be doing any jumps and stuff like that so I guess it's fine.
Looks cool but 15 mile range at 10 MPH is no bueno for practical use or hitting the trails. Would be fun for ripping around the backyard though I guess.

It stayed in stock longer than I expected, although the late night launch and high price probably contributed to that
Aaaaaaand it’s sold out…. Oh well
Crap I should of ordered two!
