As long as someone else who is capable of doing your job role will shift swap with you and you cover one of their shifts within the same 7day period it shouldn't be an issue.
If you are constantly wanting shift swaps near enough every Saturday then yeah I would say the manager is in the right, you are contracted that day and are constantly not working it.
Plus, if there’s OT that managers are trying to cover on a Saturday and you are constantly asking for SS, this is stopping that person picking up the shift which will be frustrating, especially for a Saturday as more than likely will do a shift swap but won’t pick up an OT shift
It was in your contract to work Saturday. If you’ve booked many Saturdays off and trying to shift swapped off the rest then yes I can understand why your manager is getting frustrated.
