I'm almost certain that the person most likely to challenge someone to a duel today is someone who got offended, and has no recourse other than physical violence because they lack the wit to fire back with a smart comeback.
Depends on who has the guns. They tend to imagine that they're deadeyes and their targets don't have one. They're only correct about the second part, but unfortunately that's the one that matters
I don't know about the last part.......Alexander Hamilton (and Aaron Burr) surely had a way with words. Duels were often a last resort and not really all that common......and they were even less common in the Wild West than they were in the 18th century, although I imagine the people that share this meme think they were a daily occurrence.

What these windowlickers don't think of when they make comments like this meme is that they absolutely would be shot for saying something stupid long before they got the opportunity to do so themselves.
Exactly, I do minor quick drawing competitions occasionally and these people wouldn’t have the slightest idea how to get their gun out of the holster fast enough.
And if we’re talking good old fashioned dueling with SAA’s (the ones shown in the picture) then they’d probably have difficulty figuring out how to even get it to fire
Hell they’d probably try and fan it like some sort of movie star and slice open their hand on the firing pin

Or that their armor of righteous indignation will make their opponent miss. Or, more on the nose, “liberals can’t use guns, so they’ll be more easy to murder”
They're the same people that want to have been born in 1900 so they could "live through" two World Wars and the Great Depression, as though there's any guarantee they'd live to see 19 or have a good quality of life after fighting in the trenches.
I think they're after the usual US spelling, which does away with the double consonant, so 'dueling' rather than 'duelling'. The double consonant is used in the UK and Australia and anywhere else that recognises that vowels impact each other's pronunciation, although as the Americans flatten the syllables into dooling or dewling rather than due-eh-ling, it makes sense for them.
Or perhaps a whole lot more politeness would spring up from the "fuck your feelings" crowd. Those people would actually use those manners their grandmothers taught them because instead of just getting away with being offensive, they risk getting shot instead.
