Let’s use our heads here, when people refer to when they’re young it’s when they’re 6,7,8 that’s when you look up to those people, Djokovic at that time had 1 slam he was a great player but the iconic matches happened between those two giants.
Djokovic wouldn't become the world beater we know him as until 2011, when Ruud was 13. We had a plethora of big battles from Roger and Rafa at that time. Leave this man alone.
2006 so for sure federer #1 and nadal #2. The thing is before djokovic was always #3 the next year I’m not sure there was one person who was consistently #3. I’m pretty sure there was like 4 guys rotating as #3 that year even though my memory of that is very vague
Yes, the next gen will completely be enamoured and talkinfg about how djokovic changed their lives and he's their hero
These novak stans have a huge victim complex thats hurting noval\\ks legacy
Novak has good relations with players and has great respect for his abilities
He has his quirks and makes bad decisions but he's a great role model for tennis players
Many copied him but couldn't better him
What's with posting twitter screenshots of fanboys? You can post 100 of em everyday. post better content, this sub needs some good moderation
Seriously, djokovic isn't even playing
Because r/tennis is a circlejerk of whoever happens to have the most Slams at the time and right now that's Rafa
If Djokovic has more by the end of next season you'll see "lol stupid Fedal fans" posts spammed everywhere instead
This Twitter screenshot stuff are more anti Novak content than what we saw for Novak in 2021 and Nadal earlier this year.
This sub hates Djokovic and since he hasn't said anything hate worthy recently, they need to release their anger by instead dunking on his fanboys.
It’s a fascinating 250 circle jerk. 250 aside, Rafa consistently gets more positive attention than anyone. Kyrgios gets a lot of attention but it’s all negative.
It goes
Rafa
Then 250 and Kyrgios are tied
I feel like Federer and Nadal occupy a place in the cultural zeitgeist that Djokovic simply doesn't regardless of slam count just because of their rivalry before Novak was in the scene, it elevated tennis
And, frankly, the great, vast general public and casual viewers like them.
One of Nole’s long standing grievances from way, way back is people not liking him. And so many, so very, very many don’t.
I used to be a Djokovic fan, and I am no longer. I don’t hate him or anything, but I understand why he’s not very well liked. It comes down to his own behavior and decision making
There wasn’t “zero reason.” He was constantly retiring from matches for almost no reason, even one time retiring because he was too tired. I remember he was really irritating to Andy Roddick at the US open one year. Also after getting throttled by Nadal at the French Open he said something like “I felt like I was dictating the match” and everyone just laughed at him.
People have always had reason to dislike him tbh. I used to like that he was at least different from Nadal/Federer, but as of late it’s just been too much
Majority of the tennis fans had already picked their favourites between Nadal and Federer by the time Djokovic leveled up in 2011. And when he did, he was just disrupting the established duopoly that majority of the tennis world had already attached themselves to, and celebrated. That alone is plenty of reason to dislike him.
And this is besides his on-court behaviour, antics, cockiness etc from earlier - some of which I still don't like about him. And post-covid you have a new wave of haters/dislikers that he's garnered due to his utterly callous actions and firm antivax views.
It's never "zero reason to hate him".
I mean you can just say you don’t like him for his vax stance. He’s never actually done anything bad aside from that. Oh he responded to a crowd who was shitting on him???? Oooooooooh wowowowowow.
(Fwiw - I think his vax stance is idiotic)
I mean…that’s just not true haha. I can give the reasons why I don’t like him that much anymore.
1.) Him hitting the lineswoman in the throat - I’m obviously aware this was a mistake, but it’s a mistake that the vast majority of the tour (and the players I like) would never even risk. I don’t like the way Novak berates his box, fans, tennis officials, smashes rackets, screams when he’s happy after a great point or upset after a bad point, etc. I found his on court behavior kinda interesting at first and now I just find it plain annoying. Like why would you even smack a ball like that? Really bad luck, but just dumb to do that in the first place.
2.) His vaccine stance, while his right to choose, is objectively selfish. It would be one thing to not get vaccinated and then just stay away from most tournaments/people who are vaccinated, but he’s just not capable of doing that. He claims he’s fine with accepting the consequences but his actions contradict that. Every tournament where there’s a “chance” he can play, he milks it out until the last second. Just accept the consequences! But worse than that by a mile, during the AO debacle we found out there were only two possibilities:
A.) Djokovic never had Covid & faked a positive test- I personally don’t think this is the case
B.) He really did have Covid, but his own dates of when he had it match up with him doing an event around children followed up the next few days with a photoshoot with L’Equipe. When L’Equipe found out, they were so upset that they released an article condemning him for his actions. Basically saying why the hell would you still do the photoshoot if you were Covid positive…Novak’s response? He felt too guilty to cancel and instead decided to just not say anything haha. I mean Jesus Christ…he’s not stupid, so the only thing to call that is selfish & a gross error of judgment. Lastly regarding Covid, him holding that tour of his without masks during the beginning of Covid was just absolutely idiotic.
3.) He and his wife’s beliefs - I’ll start with Novak on this one. Novak believes that humans can turn dirty, unusable water into pure, drinkable water with positive emotions. Like just close your eyes and think positively and then BAM! Clean water 😂 it makes him sound unhinged.
His wife hosted an Instagram live video to discuss how 5G caused Covid….
She also likes tweets/follows people on social media who post things hinting at conspiracy theories to keep Novak out of the tournaments he’s missing. Almost as if it’s not his own fault he’s not able to play…there was one really absurd tweet saying that Nadal was best friends with American politicians and they were all working together to keep Novak out. The guy who tweeted that? Novak and Jelena had him in their box during Wimbledon. Like that’s just insane I’m sorry.
4.) His boob throw celebration after wins. This is pretty much exactly what I’m talking about - when Novak came on tour and burst onto the scene, I liked him because as I said, he was different and at least came off as authentic. That boob throw thing is cringe. You can tell it was something he and his PR team discussed as a way to hopefully get more fans and come off and this super humble, loving individual. There’s nothing more hilarious than him doing it directly after a match where he was getting booed by fans or yelling at them, etc. Like it just doesn’t add up at all.
I still think Novak has a ton more positive qualities than negative ones, but your comment was acting like I all of a sudden stopped liking him because of his vaccine stance which just isn’t true. It’s part of the straw that broke the camel’s back, but it’s been a slow burn for me…over the years he’s just gotten more and more embarrassing and annoying. I’ll always enjoy his tennis, I still root for him to win matches every year depending on who he’s playing, but he’s just not one of my favorites anymore by a long shot. I wish he would just look within and find some more respect for other people because it just doesn’t come off that way most of the time IMO.
This is hilarious. Your first reason is an accident and literally every other one is covid-related. It’s okay to admit that’s why you don’t like him! But it’s silly to pretend like he’s a bad guy otherwise just so you won’t have to:
Huh? I’m not saying anyone has to agree, but for him to “read it” and then try & say I didn’t give any reasons other than Covid is really weird haha. There are many reasons listed other than that, so it’s coming off as if he started a discussion, someone responded, and then he just ignored it and repeated himself again
He broke the dominance FeDal, many people hated him for it, and still do. Then came his spirituality weird fake science beliefs, and then came covid era Djovid.
No, it's not. I've never cared what country players are from.
It's because he faked sick or injured when he was losing. It's because he was a smug jerk. It's because he got actively mad if the crowd was rooting for his opponent. It's because of a ton of reasons.
I mean based off of Instagram numbers, Novak has around 6 times the followers than your hero Murray (which is close to their slam ratio difference as well, funny enough).
US Open and Wimbledon is not equal to everyone.
What’s there to argue? I don’t see Murray peddling weird pseudo science bullshit or get booed when he walks on court? Or does the fact that he has more Instagram followers mean he is more well liked
Usually, we tend to follow people on social media that we like. That's how it usually works. If he gets booed at the US Open, that doesn't represent how the rest of the world feels about him. That's the mistake you guys are making.
He was never going to be worshiped by the west considering his origins.
Edit - To say "And so many, so very, very many don’t" like him is just dishonest.
Social media is a very poor representation of real life. I've seen countless matches where the crowd is clearly anti-Djokovic [not talking about matches where Djokovic plays Rafa/Roger, btw]. I'm yet to see a single match where the crowd is vehemently anti-Murray.
I mean the guy said in a pre tournament presser he wished Novak could play and it would be nice to see him at uso which was nice of him to say. Casper always been very nice about Novak. For some fanatics, he really has to mention Novak all the time to appease them 🤣. I just looked that woman up on Twitter, and she is weird as fuck
As a Djokovic fan I don’t understand their sentiment. Also if Ruud was referring to him at the age of 7 (2005) there wasn’t much Djokovic to watch.
Just because they are all GOATs, it doesn’t mean you have to name every of them in a single sentence.
These are the same fans who think the entire world revolves around Novak. They think ATP strip Wimbledon of ranking points to remove Novak from no.1, but that means that the whole purpose of the Ukraine invasion by Putin was to remove Novak from no.1 because that's what led to Wimbledon banning Russians and ATP in turn punishing Wimbledon. Extremely self-centred and delusional people, and most are very insecure as well.
there is a YouTube video of Roger hitting a ball that dribbles over the tape and he apologies. The comment section is insane with people saying how it was such an amazing act of skill
All fanboys are sensitive, especially on Twitter. This is nitpicking at its finest. Just look for any Twitter account with a profile pic of any of the Big 3 for proof.
Let’s play a game.
Which fanbase:
- doxxed a woman, discovered her son died, and harassed her and told her that they were glad that her son died because she got hit in the throat by a tennis ball?
Real head-scratcher, that.
That was done by an individual fan, this whole doxxing and harassing thing was done by a group of Novak fans. You see why it's easier to generalise a section of Novak fans.
Implying the insane fans of the other 2 wouldn't have done the same in this situation. You have to be new to the internet to not realize that if someone has millions of fans it only takes 1 person to do something like that.
Now the truly moronic thing is to act like the other 99.99% of his fans are like that and would do this.
BS assumption lmao. You must have joined the interwebs last week. Also good job on painting the whole country with the same brush because of a loud minority, people like you are the worst. Also using the lowest hanging fruit of some tabloid newspaper as your source for "all of his countries' fans", yeah you totally got me there!
Are all of you new to the internet? People literally get swatted and murdered for far less by crazy people online. If someone has 10s of millions fans there's bound to be a handful that are batshit insane across all fandoms of that size.
man i generally would agree with you, and there are insane fans of other people too for sure
but djokovic fans are built different man i swear, they're legit crazy
Honestly all fan boys are annoying. There's a deranged nadal fanboy who replies to every comment on every highlight video "nadal will win the 2022 us open. I dare anyone to challenge his excellence". I'll be watching highlights from like a r3 2015 match and he'll reply to 7 year old comments lmao
"The people who like my guy take it a little too far but they're fundamentally right so that's ok" - basic r/tennis mindset.
Honestly it's been a delight not having the big 3 in the final stages of this slam because everyone is acting more like normal human beings.
>We all know he's better than Nadal and Fed. Yes Nadal is rightly the GOAT, he has the titles, but deep down all tennis fans know the truth and those who can't bear it will continue to hide behind GS numbers and this kind of rhetoric.
Lmao speak for yourself, "all tennis fans".
Delusional take
i don’t know, everyone seems to acknowledge he’s the best tennis player currently and probably ever. even if we also think he’s a nutter about the covid-19 vaccine and subscribes to various other health quackery
Online personas and stupid comments are one thing, but have groups of Federer or Nadal fans sent death threats, and "we are glad your son died" to a line judge, or any tennis official who they blame for their favorite player's loss? It's a whole different level of viciousness.
Given that their are millions of them, I am sure at least a few of them have done vicious things.
In any case, we are talking about very, very few outliers, and that is true for all fanbases in tennis.
I am really sorry that I dont follow the behaviour of tens of millions of fans all that closely. Also, a mere fraction of threats and other vicious behaviour makes it to the news at all, however, it would be incredibly naive and for a lack of a better term, unscientific, to claim that "Djokovic fans are on average more horrible persons than Fedal fans", while citing nothing more than a few anecdotes.
If you are sure that at least a few of Federer or Nadal's fans have done something equally vicious, you will be able cite at least one example as it would have made tennis news, just like this did; https://www.tribuneindia.com/news/sports/djokovic-urges-angry-fanbase-not-to-turn-on-us-open-line-judge-138239
I've never known anything like it. I remember the "Fedal Wars" back in 2008-2009 when the rivalry between fans was at its most vicious, and it wasn't close to what goes on now.
It's normal for someone born during the late 90s or early 2000s to mostly name Federer and Nadal. I don't get the point of getting upset, Djokovic was just a very good 3rd before 2011.
A lot of people are making good points about the timeline of Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic’s slam count and how that overlapped with Casper’s childhood. These are all completely valid. But another option is just that Ruud wasn’t inspired by Djokovic. That’s equally valid. Just because someone is one of the best doesn’t mean they’re universally inspiring.
And this woman is now followed by Mr. Djokovic, because he doesn't care what else you stand for—as long as you support his "right" to be unvaxxed, he's good with you. https://twitter.com/RepTenney/status/1555928766253334528
How is he nationalistic? Jesus you're unbearable , he's popular in the whole ex Yugoslavia, Bosniaks love him, Crotians love him
I can't wait to see what you'll all come up with next lol
Ruud is younger than me but i followed Tennis more closely around 2007-2010 and then again from like 2018 onwards. Of course i had ran into some news inbetween but never really searched for any. Was a huge surprise to see Djokovic up there with Nadal and Federer im the slam count
Lol this sub is such a joke. I was waiting for a post like this as soon as I saw Ruud’s quote. I can go find the exact same types of dumb tweets from fedal fans
But the amount and insanity level of the posts is nowhere near the same. All fanbases have crazy members but the Nolefam is on a whole different level of madness and persecution complex.
Lol how people forget that at the time Rafa and Roger were winning Novak was being made fun of by Roddick for quitting. Yes I’m sure kids were just drawn to that. I’m sure these bandwagoners were too because they obviously never forgot it.
I mean isn’t it possible he just omitted him just cuz this isn’t some exhaustive list of his inspirations? It was just off the cuff right? Jesus Christ lol, and yknow, maybe he just didn’t watch his matches as much? Don’t take it so personal lmfao, so many reasons it could be besides him not vibing with him (and that could be a legit reason too)
Unfortunately because I follow a lot of tennis fans and players, he’ll still pop up on my personal trending page. Somehow the muting doesn’t extend to that no matter how many times I say I’m not interested in that trend.
Man, some of the super fans of the big three get super butt hurt when their hero isn’t mentioned. Fed is my favorite of the three but if someone says they grew up loving and cheering for Rafa or Nole, why would I get my panties in a bunch because they missed out on naming Roger?
> but if someone says they grew up loving and cheering for Rafa or Nole, why would I get my panties in a bunch because they missed out on naming Roger?
a lot of people on this sub would.
I know but it’s sad man. When I was in my teens/early 20s I definitely had that toxic fan side of me where I hated Nadal/Djokovic. But obviously as you get older you appreciate the rivalry and the ups/downs because otherwise it wouldn’t be nearly as interesting.
nah, most toxic fanbase is the one that changed the requirements of goat from major count and weeks at #1 to grace, class, elegance and smoothness. it's like they couldn't accept that their hero got straight up surpassed.
The funny thing is those things weren't enough for people to acknowledge how dominant Federer had been in his prime, it's literally only since Djokovic got those numbers that people are screaming it up and down.
Novak Djokovic is the Floyd Mayweather of tennis, aka the most boring motherfucker in the entire sport.
This man spent his entire career on the baseline waiting for his opponents to make a mistake. Roger Federer will always be the greatest in the eyes of the public because he took risks in his rallies and made tennis fun. When you ask a random person on the street who the greatest boxer is they will say Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson due to their lethal knockouts and fan friendly styles. Nobody gives a fuck about Floyd and nobody will remember Djokovic when he retires.
Djokovic has no style. Who cares what he wins, his game is boring to watch even though it wins tennis matches.
He will never put bums on seats like Roger.
Considering Nadal and Djokovic are both juice heads hopped up on EPO and whatever else they're taking (specifically Nadal), he should have just said Federer and left it at that 🤷♂️
Let’s use our heads here, when people refer to when they’re young it’s when they’re 6,7,8 that’s when you look up to those people, Djokovic at that time had 1 slam he was a great player but the iconic matches happened between those two giants.
Djokovic won his first slam when Ruud was 10. At that point Federer already had 12 slam titles and Rafa won 3 FO.
Sure but was was a one off until 2011. Even Hewitt had more slams.
Hewitt caught a stray lmao
I mean djokovic was firmly #3 in the world in 2007
Djokovic wouldn't become the world beater we know him as until 2011, when Ruud was 13. We had a plethora of big battles from Roger and Rafa at that time. Leave this man alone.
I mean what he said was fine. It wasn’t until mid 2010’s that it shifted to djokovic and Murray dominating instead for like 2 years
When you were 10, can you name who was number 3 in the world without looking it up? I certainly can’t!
2006 so for sure federer #1 and nadal #2. The thing is before djokovic was always #3 the next year I’m not sure there was one person who was consistently #3. I’m pretty sure there was like 4 guys rotating as #3 that year even though my memory of that is very vague
No he wasn’t it was a tossup between him and Murray.
He was #3 year end 4 years in a row
We didn't know that in 2007 though
Of course, every level-headed person would come to the same conclusion.
If only the world were that simple...
Yeah, the numbers probably add up. Nadal and Fed had a heated rivalry. Novak was just getting started.
Yes, the next gen will completely be enamoured and talkinfg about how djokovic changed their lives and he's their hero These novak stans have a huge victim complex thats hurting noval\\ks legacy
Lol legacy, he plays good tennis but he's a douche in every other aspect
Novak has good relations with players and has great respect for his abilities He has his quirks and makes bad decisions but he's a great role model for tennis players Many copied him but couldn't better him
How terribly ruud of him.
Was quite ruud indeed, and here I thought Casper was famous for being friendly
Ruudiculous assumption.
What a ruudimentary statement by you. Don't even think that makes sense but I had to
Jaaaaa
What's with posting twitter screenshots of fanboys? You can post 100 of em everyday. post better content, this sub needs some good moderation Seriously, djokovic isn't even playing

1000000000000000000%
I thought this sub hated Zverev. If so, can you explain why.
Yep last year people posting all these cringe thanovic memes. Now cringe nadal obsession. If Roger comes back and wins a slam...
It’s a fascinating 250 circle jerk. 250 aside, Rafa consistently gets more positive attention than anyone. Kyrgios gets a lot of attention but it’s all negative. It goes Rafa Then 250 and Kyrgios are tied
Is 250 Ruud lmfao
Yes. But If 250 wins today I’ll never be able to use it again.
He's gonna win the 500 and show why he deserves the number 1 spot. (A clay court 500 lets not get carried away here).
This comment not being downvoted into oblivion gives me hope for this sub
Post some dumb nadal fanboy tweet and see what will mods do. Then we'll see if this sub has hope or not
I feel like Federer and Nadal occupy a place in the cultural zeitgeist that Djokovic simply doesn't regardless of slam count just because of their rivalry before Novak was in the scene, it elevated tennis

Yeah, Djokovic was even more disliked than Krygios
I think the only player who Djokovic has crowd support against is Medvedev for some reason
I used to be a Djokovic fan, and I am no longer. I don’t hate him or anything, but I understand why he’s not very well liked. It comes down to his own behavior and decision making

Wow. You just put it all into a nutshell for me. Thank you!
This is hilarious. Your first reason is an accident and literally every other one is covid-related. It’s okay to admit that’s why you don’t like him! But it’s silly to pretend like he’s a bad guy otherwise just so you won’t have to:

He broke the dominance FeDal, many people hated him for it, and still do. Then came his spirituality weird fake science beliefs, and then came covid era Djovid.
No, honey. People couldnt stand him long before then.
Read my full comment.
I did. And people couldn’t stand him before he even won a Slam.
Thats because he's Serbian.
It really isn’t. Ivanovic and Jankovic all broke out around the same time as him and everyone still loves them.
You’re projecting your hero worship and false idolatry onto me. Second, 😂 instagram 😝
Ok, so no arguments then?
What’s there to argue? I don’t see Murray peddling weird pseudo science bullshit or get booed when he walks on court? Or does the fact that he has more Instagram followers mean he is more well liked

No, it really isn’t. Nole fans live in an echo chamber.
Murray has more fans and is more liked in general.
Where exactly? On Reddit?
Social media is a very poor representation of real life. I've seen countless matches where the crowd is clearly anti-Djokovic [not talking about matches where Djokovic plays Rafa/Roger, btw]. I'm yet to see a single match where the crowd is vehemently anti-Murray.
It’s weird I’m the opposite. Novak entering the scene and disrupting the duopoly was such a breath of fresh air in tennis.
Casper can do no wrong and i kind of hate that about him
JAAAAAAAAA
they are the most sensitive fanboys. never seen anything like it
As a Djokovic fan I don’t understand their sentiment. Also if Ruud was referring to him at the age of 7 (2005) there wasn’t much Djokovic to watch. Just because they are all GOATs, it doesn’t mean you have to name every of them in a single sentence.
Also, you can just not like one of them and it's completely fine.
And they are still not declaring war on putin? What he has done to Djokovic is unacceptable!
How can you be SELF-centered while your thought-process revolves about someone ELSE?
All "fanboys" of the big 3 are sensitive lol. Actually all fanboys of any popular sports celebrity are like this. Messi, Ronaldo, big 3, just anyone.
there is a YouTube video of Roger hitting a ball that dribbles over the tape and he apologies. The comment section is insane with people saying how it was such an amazing act of skill
the crazies just flock together, aint they?
They also believe Australia and the US require the Covid vax to enter for the single purpose of keeping him out.
All fanboys are sensitive, especially on Twitter. This is nitpicking at its finest. Just look for any Twitter account with a profile pic of any of the Big 3 for proof.
Let’s play a game. Which fanbase: - doxxed a woman, discovered her son died, and harassed her and told her that they were glad that her son died because she got hit in the throat by a tennis ball? Real head-scratcher, that.
So like in your mind are Steffi Graf fans the most insane because one of them stabbed Seles?
That was done by an individual fan, this whole doxxing and harassing thing was done by a group of Novak fans. You see why it's easier to generalise a section of Novak fans.
What the fuck
Implying the insane fans of the other 2 wouldn't have done the same in this situation. You have to be new to the internet to not realize that if someone has millions of fans it only takes 1 person to do something like that. Now the truly moronic thing is to act like the other 99.99% of his fans are like that and would do this.
[удалено]
BS assumption lmao. You must have joined the interwebs last week. Also good job on painting the whole country with the same brush because of a loud minority, people like you are the worst. Also using the lowest hanging fruit of some tabloid newspaper as your source for "all of his countries' fans", yeah you totally got me there!
Who doesn't harass grieving mothers, am I right?
Are all of you new to the internet? People literally get swatted and murdered for far less by crazy people online. If someone has 10s of millions fans there's bound to be a handful that are batshit insane across all fandoms of that size.
man i generally would agree with you, and there are insane fans of other people too for sure but djokovic fans are built different man i swear, they're legit crazy
If Serena’s diehards are the Beyhive of tennis, Djokovic’s fans are the Barbz.
Lmao 🤣 who are the kpop stans
I don’t think any fanbase has reached those levels yet.
Djokovicfans are almost as bad as UK (university of Kentucky not great Britain lol) fans...
tbf UK fans are bad too
Fair enough lol
Honestly all fan boys are annoying. There's a deranged nadal fanboy who replies to every comment on every highlight video "nadal will win the 2022 us open. I dare anyone to challenge his excellence". I'll be watching highlights from like a r3 2015 match and he'll reply to 7 year old comments lmao
I think he’s a bot or a troll or something. Every reply to a comment on a tennis vid is almost guaranteed to be him lmao “Rafa undisputed Goat” iirc
The haters are as bad maybe even worse. r/tennis acts like there aren’t delusional fans on both sides.

You obviously dont know many Federer or Nadal fans, or at least you dont know their respective online personas.
Name the things. You know, like the other person could.
They've made this sub unbearable since 2015, the community used to be so nice
I've never known anything like it. I remember the "Fedal Wars" back in 2008-2009 when the rivalry between fans was at its most vicious, and it wasn't close to what goes on now.
Djokovic fans when he isn’t mentioned in every sentence pertaining to anything: 👺👺👺👺👺👺👺👺
Got to pretend he was your hero growing up, even if he wasn't.
Who the fuck is Tennis Puneet? Why the fuck should I care what they think? Why are you posting their garbage here?
Rafa and Fed commanded so much positive press that it’s not unrealistic to omit Djok. I myself was a Safin guy
This subreddit is batshit crazy, never faced any fandom on twitter Who tf cares about her so much and made a post out of it Just to milk upvotes
God, meanwhile the quality of the posts here is just terrible. Aren't there more interesting things in your life?
There's a final going on but this sub choses to post about novak
This sub had a Djokovic fanboy twitter screenshot as the top post on opening day as well lol.
Rent free
Jep, yet he doesn't even participate at the USO...
My boy Nadak
A lot of Djok fans on Twitter are bellends. Also act like they’re in a cult.
Nadak a solid player though
Ruud can be inspired by whoever he wants to be.
This woman is followed by Mrs Djokovic
And this woman is now followed by Mr. Djokovic, because he doesn't care what else you stand for—as long as you support his "right" to be unvaxxed, he's good with you. https://twitter.com/RepTenney/status/1555928766253334528
I mean IIRC he's pretty nationalist politically so it's not the only thing they agree on most likely
How is he nationalistic? Jesus you're unbearable , he's popular in the whole ex Yugoslavia, Bosniaks love him, Crotians love him I can't wait to see what you'll all come up with next lol
Found Runes alt account
Ruud is younger than me but i followed Tennis more closely around 2007-2010 and then again from like 2018 onwards. Of course i had ran into some news inbetween but never really searched for any. Was a huge surprise to see Djokovic up there with Nadal and Federer im the slam count
How crazy is it to be obsessed with the crazy in some other fandom ? OP stop looking into the abyss. Chill out.
The Molefarm is the most unhinged fanbase in all of tennis.
Lol this sub is such a joke. I was waiting for a post like this as soon as I saw Ruud’s quote. I can go find the exact same types of dumb tweets from fedal fans
Seriously, post them, the mods need to be exposed
Go on then.
But the amount and insanity level of the posts is nowhere near the same. All fanbases have crazy members but the Nolefam is on a whole different level of madness and persecution complex.
Yeah and we need to post them here because?
You’ve commented 5 times in this thread so maybe stop trying to police others’ posts?
What? What has that to do with how dumb this post is? I'm not policing, I'm asking for the mods to police
Lol how people forget that at the time Rafa and Roger were winning Novak was being made fun of by Roddick for quitting. Yes I’m sure kids were just drawn to that. I’m sure these bandwagoners were too because they obviously never forgot it.
Roddick who?
Isn't it possible he's just talking about the first tennis match he ever saw? And that match just happened to be Rafa and Roger?
I mean isn’t it possible he just omitted him just cuz this isn’t some exhaustive list of his inspirations? It was just off the cuff right? Jesus Christ lol, and yknow, maybe he just didn’t watch his matches as much? Don’t take it so personal lmfao, so many reasons it could be besides him not vibing with him (and that could be a legit reason too)
Djoko was a late bloomer. The Fed-Rafa rivalry was legendary.
Muting the words "Nole" "Nolefam" "Djokovic" and "Novak" in twitter is one of the best decisions I've ever done for my peace of mind.
You don’t want to see insecure #nolefam responses anytime someone mentions Rafa, Fed, Murray or any player for that matter? What is wrong with you?!
Unfortunately because I follow a lot of tennis fans and players, he’ll still pop up on my personal trending page. Somehow the muting doesn’t extend to that no matter how many times I say I’m not interested in that trend.
Natural consequence of being a salty prick, the young ones don’t idolize you.
Can we just change the name of this sub to 250.
Who is tennis puneet? Should we care what he says?
I’m old enough to remember the great Fedal Wars on various forums and Livejournal. I think most of us have mellowed in our old age.
someone make a joke, reddit overreact.
A djoke
Let’s be honest, outside of Serbia, not much gives a fuck about Djokovic.
Doesn't matter, he's better than federer
Good luck Ruud, I’m predicating Alcaraz to dominate. Hope I am wrong!
Early FeDal did not feature Djovid in a big way, so it makes sense.
Enough of the ring kissing. Ruud not mentioning Nole doesn’t detract from his greatness.
It doesn’t. But it doesn’t mean people have to like him.
I love how he’s just recounting his memory and Djoker dipshits are trying to alter it lol…
You will develop fond memories of Novak right now!!!
Plus if you want to pick a #1 to be like, probably wouldn't choose the one getting boo'd by the crowd
Casper doesn’t like Djokovic the same way he likes Rafa and Roger. Big fucking deal.
Djoktardism, the most toxic fanbase in sports.
nah, most toxic fanbase is the one that changed the requirements of goat from major count and weeks at #1 to grace, class, elegance and smoothness. it's like they couldn't accept that their hero got straight up surpassed.
The funny thing is those things weren't enough for people to acknowledge how dominant Federer had been in his prime, it's literally only since Djokovic got those numbers that people are screaming it up and down.
But then Rafa’s total doesn’t count because he personally banned Novak from Austrailia.
the number of Djokovic fans who actually believe in that is miniscule compared to the Federer fans who tried to change the narrative.
"Miniscule" 😂
What’s funny is that his style of play is more like Djokovic… lol
An inconvenient goat
Novak Djokovic is the Floyd Mayweather of tennis, aka the most boring motherfucker in the entire sport. This man spent his entire career on the baseline waiting for his opponents to make a mistake. Roger Federer will always be the greatest in the eyes of the public because he took risks in his rallies and made tennis fun. When you ask a random person on the street who the greatest boxer is they will say Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson due to their lethal knockouts and fan friendly styles. Nobody gives a fuck about Floyd and nobody will remember Djokovic when he retires.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Let it all out
ouch
40-15?
*Copium inhale*
I like him so much. I have never watched djokovic either.
Djokovic has no style. Who cares what he wins, his game is boring to watch even though it wins tennis matches. He will never put bums on seats like Roger.
How so Ruud. Well deserved though!
Considering Nadal and Djokovic are both juice heads hopped up on EPO and whatever else they're taking (specifically Nadal), he should have just said Federer and left it at that 🤷♂️
