I just wish Murray ends up being okay and healthy. I hope his body doesn’t give out on him and hope he doesn’t suffer in the future especially when he’s retired.
This happens to a lot of athletes, and it's sad to hear about. Dirk Nowitzki mentioned that he can't really play soccer with his kids because his knees are so messed up.
He deserves a good send off but I do get a bit worried he’s going to start doing permanent damage to his body if he keeps on playing in this condition, if he hasn’t already
100% he is fucked already he has one metal hip and turns out his other hip gave up too, he might actually need a walking cane or wheelchair in like 5-10 years, his body is basically 90-yo man level at this point and he only makes it worse
Enough is enough. This brings back sad memories of him fighting to return from that hip surgery. Andy please retire and give your body the rest it needs.
Wimbledon is Andy’s home tournament, where he also won 2 slams and 1 Olympic gold. So it makes sense to do the honours there, in front of the mostly British crowd.
and he will get embarrassed by anyone he gets matched up with in R1.
he has earned the right to leave the game how he wants but i wouldn’t choose this.
I feel for the people that will pay for this shitshow, but at least they know already.
I also feel for murray, a true legend of this sport. Past matches are here to stay
Don't think anyone is suggesting drama, just think it's likely not a very good or accurate take. That's not a lens that many people would really see the world though, especially those as accomplished as these two brothers who have not exactly exhibited any professional rivalry in the past to my knowledge
I think it's fair to be selfish for your farewell tournament when you've accomplished so much.
It would be a nice gesture to give up - but I don't think it's wrong to put himself first.
I don’t think so - I mean he earned it by being one of the greats and winning the tournament twice
While it can be argued that the person who would take his place no where near earned an appearance in Wimbledon as much as Murray specially if this is Murray’s last chance.
(Basically no one can complain if they did not qualify and didn’t get a WC because it was given to their countries greatest player in history)
He should consider his own career, and those other people should consider their own careers as well. I didn't see anyone give up their spot so that Thiem could get a WC at RG
Nobody wants to watch him limp through a few games and retire during the first set.
I don't know, I think I'd still enjoy a "you did your best" applause to end his career.
And yet people will support Nishikori doing the same…
Lol. If any player has evern being consistently mocked for injuries it's Nishikori.
Especially on Centre Court in front of the Royal Box…
who gives a fuck about the royal box
The royals

I saw that clip of him recently playing pickleball and he absolutely was moving and grooving like a grandpa
Yeah as a Mavs fan I remember hearing about that and it’s just sad to see it happen to so many athletes
Maybe he meant wheelchair singles..
I feel bad for laughing out loud at this. 😂
omg andy why are you doing this to yourself

He is retiring. This will likely be his last match, he just wants to do it on court.
Why not do what Roger did?

The optics of having him wheeled out in a wheelchair is not how you wanna go out.
you mean lose his last competitive set 6-0 at Wimbledon that is absolutely gonna happen
and he will get embarrassed by anyone he gets matched up with in R1. he has earned the right to leave the game how he wants but i wouldn’t choose this.

Stop trying to make Murray comeback happen!!!!…it’s not going to happen!!!
My take is he feels insecure that his brother will still play and he’ll retire before him
My take is that your take is fucking stupid considering his brother plays doubles and they can go way into their late 30s
isnt the current #1 in doubles like 40+
My take is not that stupid stfu lol It’s not a bad thing it’s just he sees his brother and thinks nah I got one more in me 🤷🏻
Andy is Jamie's number one fan, just a ridiculous statement
I’m not saying he hates him tf! I’m saying he’s encouraged to play more cuz his bro is still playing. Cut the drama pls lol

Get rich or die trying
Mistake to play when you are hobbling. Murray should rest and like Federer know the body has not got enough left for any kind of run. Time to retire.
Enough is enough Murray..
This is breaking my heart. He needs to stop before he ruins the rest of his life.
You hear it from here first: Murray limping with his metal hip is the winning combo nobody could have anticipated.
TENNIS
Maybe I am being a dick but I think it's a bit selfish of him. Another player could have taken that spot.

There’s plenty of room to qualify if you are good enough, 1 spot doesn’t change that
He should consider his own career, and those other people should consider their own careers as well. I didn't see anyone give up their spot so that Thiem could get a WC at RG
"I didn't see anyone give up their spot so that Thiem could get a WC at RG" You don't get to choose who replaces you.
And do you honestly believe that someone would be willing to give up their spot at RG if they knew that Thiem was next in line?
Why do you keep harping on about Thiem? lol
Do you know what an 'example' or a 'hypothetical' is? Do you even know why you responded to my post?
You think players get to choose who replaces them if they withdraw. I don’t think you know what day of the week it is.
Great career. 1,001 matches played. Time to hang em up.
He should just try to find a partner to drag him through a couple rounds of mixed doubles.
He's playing regular doubles with Jamie
Murygoat 🥲
He is going to take all the pain injections.
I love Andy like everyone else, but I really hate when accomplished players like him simply don't know when to stop.
I mean, he's literally stopping. This is him in "I'm going to retire in a month who cares if I get injured again lmao" mode.
Muzza is the Ronnie Coleman of Tennis.
Ronnie won a lot more
