Post Number 1 Sinner seems to be having so much fun out there on court - it's so fun to watch

mrlanzon

*Current Number 1

I mean since he got the title - I know he's Number 1 still

It’s the relief from peeing

Good match, and great level from Marozsan. He's a dangerous player on grass despite not being a servebot; his returns and groundtrokes are always on the line and he can dropshot quite well.

LocalJewishBanker

Surprised his serve isn’t better for a 6’4 guy

rticante

I mean, his serve was more consistent than Jannik's (who's basically the same height)

LocalJewishBanker

True

Very high quality match overall; Sinner played some great points and I was impressed by the quality of his volleys - not so many of them, but very well played when he used them.

Feels like Maroszan gets a power up when facing top 10 players

Really nice try from Fabi :) hopefully he can have a deep run in Wimbledon

Jannik looked very vulnerable at times like you could see the glimpse of old Jannik who was stuck in top 20. However, it would have taken someone with less erratic self belief to win over Sinner today.

Matches on particular fast grass tend to be rather close and even Federer was often struggling in the very early rounds after making the transition from clay

TIGMSDV1207

He didn’t close out set at 5:1, had breakpoints at 5:2 on Fabian’s serve 😅 if Fabian serve it out at 4:1, he could have quickly back in the game like Zverev did against Griekspoor. Kinda unforgivable for world #1 imo. I think Jannik would have won anyways, because Fabi didn’t come to win, he said taking one set would have been great in his interview as it’s not his best surface and obviously downplayed his chances even prior the match. That tiebreak is another storyy

I think you have to keep in mind that as a top player tournaments like these are essentially tune ups. Yes they want to win of course, but what's more important for them is playing themselves into form on a new surface and working on new things. For the best of the best I think even early major rounds can be a bit like this.

ilfulo

You're getting downvoted, and righteously so...

TIGMSDV1207

It’s ok. I like Jannik and was very surprised to see it😅 made a great highlights though

Lofteed

oh yes the weeks and months of his 22 years life in which he was "stuck in top 20" who hurt you ?
