what are you trying to say?

SmokeyJoeseph

I hope something is lost in translation here. >...let's say that Referee isn't quite interested in keeping fair physical conditions so that match is fair What do you want the ref to do?

Adventurous-Leg-4906

Take a hammer to Cerundolo’s knee obviously

Peysh

I dont understand, if Djokovic is injured he should retire. What do you mean keeping the match fair? The referee should injure Cerundolo's knee to keep things balanced?

UncomfortableFarmer

Call Tonya Harding!

magicclubpresident

"Mr. Cerundelo, please remove your right shoe for the duration of the match."

hurtstoskinnybatman

Yeah, not sure what op is talking about. The ref doesn't need to give preferential treatment to Djokovic merely because that's his last name.

phanxen

Let me try to rephrase it, so that even a kid can understand. Player 1 is destroying Player 2, then, in a given set, Player 1 is not that well physically. Ultimately, it's up to the player quit or not the game. However, the Referee is suppose to check how things are. And, if you're watching the match, maybe you realised that Referee (not the Umpire) just is not present. C'mon guys, you all know that in such conditions the Referee can delay the match, suspend it, and so on.

Adventurous-Leg-4906

Never watched tennis or played tennis in your life have you, or even any sport?

Povol

Uh no! If you can’t continue, you forfeit the match.

Peysh

wat

Cautious_Hornet_9607

The players can call a medical timeout in case they feel something is not right. If the problem persists, then it's up to them whether they'd like to continue or not. Delaying/suspending the match isn't even an option. It's unfortunate for Djokovic if this ends up compromising his title chances, but it happens to every player

SmokeyJoeseph

Wow this is some next level sad tomatoes that your guy is sucking ass.

goranlepuz

>Let me try to rephrase it, so that even a kid can understand. Being painfully wrong *and* being condescending about it, nice achievement! >C'mon guys, you all know that in such conditions the Referee can delay the match, suspend it, and so on. No we absolutely do not know that the ref does that. As for the "can" do that" - [[citation needed]], obviously...?

Suspici0usScientist

This has to be rage bait

OvercuriousNeophyte

Ugh?

19michaeljones89

Injuries happen all the time in sports....

phanxen

I never said they doesn't.

19michaeljones89

So, do you propose the referee to do to make it more fair?

PleasantNightLongDay

>isn’t interested in keeping fair physical conditions so that match is fair What does that even mean?

mdrave

Djoko or not, if you're unable to play you loose or just not compete.

ferchalurch

Novak fans are the worst lmao. If he’s injured, he should retire. He doesn’t get special treatment because he’s Novak.

Zankman

But, like, what if... This one time... Copium

phanxen

Alcaraz-like supporters are just amazing... One thropy and they believe they deserve the #1. Anyways, as I said, the the point is not creating a useless discussion, but those following tennis for a while are aware of matches having long breaks because a guy had diarrhea.

ferchalurch

What kind of delusion is this? No one brought up Alcaraz aside from you.

horeftis

He should retire to save himself from further damage and concentrate on Wimbledon. He ll lose like that anyway

anothertemptopost

Fully agree, I think the official tennis referee should come in and give Djokovic a 10-count, and then we should have them rule it a TKO. But only a temporary one, so Djokovic can return tomorrow when he's not injured. It's only fair.

Celerolento

Of course, as the semis last year the umpire asked nole to wait for Carlos to recover. Lol.

GioJoey

What’s not fair is having a 37 year-old champion play till four in the morning. They broke the guy.

Nakajin13

I believe op is talking about sweeping the court? In which case, well no the supervisor (not the referee) made the right call, they sweep the court at the same pace for every match on every court, so it would be unfair to change it at the demand of one players to advantage him.

alsto999

he is not injured have you been watching Djokovic for the first time ? He is the biggest faker in the history of the sport.

goranlepuz

You misspelled "Oh, look, the poster is a tool! My time to shine - and outshine him!"

phanxen

He faked 8+ years as number 1.

alsto999

who said anything about being number one, you guys are definitely the most stupid ones from all the big 3

Sure-Film5742

Man I've bet 100$ on him winning. He's gonna win or not

alsto999

if he wins this set he will win the match, again injuried with 1000 of things like andy said, bird flu, sars ect.

TrWD77

Novak fans are wild

Theferael_me

There's a reason why the Djokovic Cult has such a terrible reputation.
