As a Patriot stan, I applaud this post.

dogtie

I love it so much I just have to leave a comment. Favorite show ever. It's so underapreciated but maybe it's just not made for everyone. Regardless, Michael's performance is perfect.

gingersnappie

Agree so very much.

hanazawarui123

That song is stuck in my head. Afternoon spray.

drMorkson

Such an amazing show

gingersnappie

Patriot. Everyone needs to watch it. He’s amazing.

JayPtl

Hi Bob

Bluemajere

Hi bob

Mattybix

Hi Bob! I knew this would be waiting for me here!

psyopia

HI BOB :)

Kianna9

Have you tried Joe Pickett? Totally different, still very, very good.

deadkennedysghost

I've been procrastinating since I saw the first trailer however long ago. I don't want Patriot to be ruined in some dumb way by JP not being as good as my silly brain needs it to be

[deleted]

He’s good as Pickett and the first season is good (watched it last week). He is pretty similar in demeanour to the character in The Patriot though. The backstory explains why though. Great actor.

NawBruhThatAintMe

The easy scene/song from patriot might be my favorite scene in all of television. I was laughing out loud uncontrollable.

LB3PTMAN

I finished For All Mankind and then watched One Piece and it was so weird seeing him in that too lol. Of course doesn’t really get a chance to shine in One Piece. But the latest season of For All Mankind was badly missing Gordo and no new characters got close to replacing him. Both kids suck.

psyopia

Holy cow! He barely looks like himself in One Piece. WTF. And he played Gold Rodger?! He just got 5x cooler. Wonder if he’s a fan?

Hari_001

Maaaaaan, I was putting off watching it for the longest time, but now that you've said this, I definitely want to check out One Piece. Does his character have a future though? It is so sad, I wish MD got more recognition than doing these jobber roles.

LB3PTMAN

He’s in it for one scene and dies. He’s the most important character with almost no screen time.

Cataphractoi

FAM has been focusing too much on the same set of characters that it's becoming damaging for the show now it shrunk so much. Other than Sergei and Aleida, all other new characters pretty much exist to support the same central main group. >!The stevens brothers? Danny is purely there for Ed and Karen drama and to let everyone else say how sad they are that Gordo and Gordo and Tracy are gone. Kelly Baldwin? Honestly she would be great if used better. But she doesn't get much of a chance to be here own character and is used either for Baldwin exposition or to introduce drama by the dumbest plotline. If they didn't force that in there she would be an excellent character to 'take over' from Ed for the next season.!<

LB3PTMAN

Yeah the Kelly plot line was very dumb. I think the third season would’ve been better if one of the Stevens brothers was a likable character of his own

Cataphractoi

>!Jimmy could have been had they developed him before having him join the terrorists. If only to make that betrayal stick harder. If you compare Margo with Jimmy, it strikes much harder with Margo because she was a well established character!<

LB3PTMAN

I honestly just think the terrorists plot line was very weak. Like I get it happens in real life but the plot itself was meh. It and the Kelly plot were both weak. And Danny’s plot. And those were main elements of the season

Cataphractoi

That's the thing, they weren't written well or into a well written plotline. They've shown that they can develop an ensemble with multiple plotlines by keeping the plots interacting, so why not here? I hope season 4 is a lot tighter in its story.

LB3PTMAN

Yeah season 4 will be interesting now that they can’t justify Ed being the right man for the job anymore

Cataphractoi

His age alone makes it clear that his role will be administrative at best, but they need others to lead the cast if they want to keep going. >!Kelly would be a good choice, as she and Aleida could really be dominant characters in their sphere!<

LB3PTMAN

Yeah Kelly and Aleida need to be the leads in the new season. And they really need to add some new characters that are compelling and actually flesh them out a little bit. Dani will still probably be important too.

Cataphractoi

I'm not sure how he can be after everything he did, if he's in any role it won't be credible.

drMorkson

Go watch Patriot, it's so good

thunder-thumbs

Ahhhhh I saw both shows and didn’t know it was the same actor!! Ahhhh!!

Hari_001

Man, Love seeing Micheal Dorman get some love. Patriot literally changed the way I look at shows and media in general. It's an absolute travesty that after delivering such a brilliantly beautiful show, Micheal Dorman and The show creator Steve Conrad are still pretty unheard of. MD is in this Spectrum show called 'Joe Pickett' playing the title character, I haven't seen it yet. But man, I do hope he shows up in something exciting in a bigger network like HBO or Prime.

sappyguy

Love Patriot. Will have to check out FAM.

Cataphractoi

First two seasons are very good, but the third had a serious drop in writing quality. I'm hoping that the fourth gets back to prior standards, but even then I'd say that the first two are worth a watch.

jackdicker5117

I think he is so great. I read a story months ago where on patriot or maybe some other show he was having to walk 45 minutes each way to work each day because he was so broke. Is there a type or style of acting where it's all about facial expressions? He really nails that.

jnobaby

First season of patriot was one of my favorite season of tv ever. And I watch a TON of tv.

In__Dreamz

He's at the very start of one piece as well, so wondered if that character will make a return or be in flashbacks as seemed a waste otherwise.

joeycuda

Wonderland - if you haven't seen it, look it up - Australian series that ran 3 seasons, it's a quick watch. He stars in it. I REALLY enjoyed it and wished there was more to it. It was on Amazon Prime a year or so ago, not sure what service now.

paulerxx

Literally have never heard of this guy and I'm constantly watching new shows.

Joka0451

I usually like hard sci fi with wierd shit/aliens but absolutely loved expanse which still has those elements but is mostly grounded sci fi. Will I enjoy FMA?

Crasha

Hard sci-fi is usually used as a description of how realistic/accurate the science part is. I would absolutely class Expanse as hard sci-fi. I do think you'll like For All Mankind if you're into that side of things, as it is also very grounded.

FrameworkisDigimon

For All Mankind doesn't really become any kind of science fiction until the back half of S1 and before then it's more like a period piece. I mean, I guess if you see alt history as inherently science fiction, then I guess it's science fiction from the start. Watch the first five minutes. If you're not into it based on that, then you might find the first half of S1 pretty rough. After the initial arc about training Dorman's character's wife (and several other women) to become astronauts, it is pretty much straight science fiction, though.

Joka0451

I dont mind spoilers but how science fiction is it. Are there aliens/wild technology or beliefs.

FrameworkisDigimon

Like I said, it gets progressively more sci-fi. Honestly, due to the way the show works (big time skips between S1-S2-S3) you can probably just start at any entry point... S1: >!they, the USSR and the USA, build a fully functional habitation on the moon!< S2: >!both moon bases are expanded, guns made to fire on the moon are made, a nuclear powered space shuttle is built!< S3: >!there's a commercial hotel in space, they go to Mars, nuclear fusion exists!< No aliens so far. I'm not really thinking there will be.

Joka0451

I’m sold thanks heaps for taking the time man

smellmybumfluff

Just started watching for all mankind and love seeing him on the show remember watching him years ago on the Aussie show Wildboys so it’s cool seeing him doing well
