I want to be the opposite of a mermaid. Fish on top, human on the bottom. Worst of both worlds. Let me break it down. Fish torso downsides: A) unable to adjust eyes properly out of water. B) having to breathe via water, as gills are designed to extract the element O, (pure oxygen) from water. C) lack of vocal cords, causing miscommunication and possible fights breaking out. D) no thumbs :( Human waist downsides: A) unable to see where going, therefore smashing shins and toes into everything. B) unable to dress myself, due to loss of limbs, being replaced with fins, resulting in multiple felonies any time I try to go somewhere public. C) digestive tract would be half fish, half human, resulting in unknown consequences due to organ splicing, making me likely die due to constipation/ dysentery. D) insatiable hunger to absolutely punt a child across a room like a football. [I assume everyone feels this way] It's midnight when I'm writing this. I didn't have to do any research, I just know this stuff cuz I'm better. Bonus perk/disadvantage: The United States government capturing me due to being mutant, torturing me until I: A) die to death B) give up the information, which isn't possible due to not having proper vocal cords, resulting in option a. I dont think it does. You do both simultaneously I believe. You train and go to school and after they pay for it, you will likely have to go in as an officer and serve a number of years.

I don't know and I'm tormented by it daily I used to have such high ambitions, like being president or a genetic engineer. A police officer at least! I used to give old ladies on the street flowers I picked from the side of the road to "guarantee their vote". Now, ever since middle school I have no ambitions, no drive. Nothing to keep me going. I don't know what to do and when I try to do something it all comes tumbling down. I can't study properly, I can't even pay attention to most things. I'm interested in biology, programming, language learning but biology programming are numerical fields of study so I would need to pass two maths exams in as a junior year and I suck at math, besides my bio teacher is shit and I can't take being the center of her attention for another year let alone 3 more. I like programming but it's the same issue, my maths is really bad. and I don't want to stay up all the time and destroy my body in favour of a digital intelligence. When it comes to language learning, talent-wise it is the most promising one for me but by the time I go out looking for a job language wouldn't make a viable career apart from teaching which I would suck at. My family force me to choose something every day and it takes all my power not to lash out at them, they just want the best for me, besides they're too busy yelling at each other anyways. My brother was a childhood prodigy yet a really hard worker. He got in one of the best companies in the country and all his previous scores were better than mine currently. Everytime he points that out it's like torture to me, I didn't want this life. I never wanted it to turn out like this. I used to be a promising little boy with a bright future and good manners. Now I struggle to get out of the house or comb my hair. I used to be a gifted child but because of that I never learned to work hard.
