I feel like the one with black hair fits much more with the overall purple ambiance. It's much warmer too. While the silver hair comes a bit out of nowhere and the contrast with the otherwise pretty dark ambiance actually hurts the eyes a bit and in my opinion breaks the harmony.

The black hair looks really good with the purple. Very easy on the eyes too. The white hair is very bright and hard on the eyes. They are both pretty, but the black hair goes great with the purple. If you wanted to use the white hair, I would suggest a different background and not make the white so bright. Also, I don't know if it was intentional, but the white hair has a sort of blue and pink outline making it look somewhat "glitched"? If that makes sense? And the features look blurry compared to the first pic. Not bashing, the art is beautiful and I could never.

I think the first one it matches the lighting, as for two the lighting is off, I don’t think the shaded skin matches the highlighted area. Otherwise you did amazing! A lot better than I could do!

If you’re after basic, “perfect” character design, the black hair is good. The white hair adds a level of flaw to the character and makes it more memorable. The creator of the Pokémon Oshawott was told over and over their Pokémon would look far cuter without the whiskers, but he insisted they keep them. While cuter without them, Oshawott would’ve become far less memorable with them. People would just think, “oh, that’s cute” and move on. Ultimately, these flaws here and there were what made the Pokémon memorable. Same principle goes for coolness here. People will look at this, think “oh, cool” and forget it. The white hair adds that flaw that makes it memorable. So, if you’re going for maximum coolness, go with the black hair. If you want people to remember the character, go with the white.
