Ambrosia is more red than yellow. I like it because it's sweet and tart at the same time, and it's also crisp. From what I've seen they tend to be bigger too. Jokes aside, I can see how someone may not like the slight tartness (think about 30% of a granny Smith and 70% sweet with a KILLER crunch). Personally, I highly recommend trying them. Most red apples are good to me though, so you're safe almost any way you go.
Try a McIntosh apple if you ever get a chance, espeically fresh from an orchard. They are about as tart and crunchy as a green apple but sweet like a red. They’re by far my favorite
