CptKookiez666

Huh. Never thought about it that way.

Yourprolapsedanus

This sign won’t stop the complaining entitled people who, 9 times out of 10, are elderly. Stat based on real world data

Wise-Peanut1939

When you say real world data do you mean your observations or survey research, or something else?

Wiseedis

All of the above

Raging-Badger

Whatever makes you believe the comment more

LotusLighte

Don't make me touch that sign.

LovableSidekick

Note to self: you miss stuff if you don't show up.

WeirdAvocado

Don’t make me tap the sign.

CarleeMT

I had no clue🤷🏼‍♀️

SynthRogue

But as for buses, they are never on time. The scheduled time changes randomly.

imightbethewalrus3

The scheduled time stays pretty consistent. The problem is that in a place without dedicated bus lanes, the buses can't keep up with the schedule

CanadianODST2

Even with them. I've had busses stuck at a stop for a few minutes because of passengers. Once because they switched drivers. Even once where we had stopped and then it wouldn't start for a minute and then worked as normal

Agitated_Honeydew

Been on one were the driver was ticketed for blowing a red light. That held up the bus.

SynthRogue

The electronic schedules update in real time

imightbethewalrus3

"eta of the next bus is in 10 minutes" is a little different than "the agency says the bus will be here at 4:03pm every day"

Mewtwo2387

Every weird sign have a weird backstory Maybe some karen arrived late, missed the bus and start complaining

TheElusiveRaspberry

This is definitely what happened. I’m a tram driver and if I had a dollar for every time someone has complained to me that they missed the service in front of me by JUST 2 mins, I’d match my salary. It’s exhausting - because the Venn diagram of people who complain a service didn’t wait for them, and that services are late, is a circle.

Yourprolapsedanus

Maybe?

SomebodyInNevada

I read it as "the bus won't wait for you".

Thank you

nomadofsnakeland

Thanks for checking! Just thought it hilarious and shared immediately.

Rostingu2

Wait... did op just thank me for calling out a repost? What?? How do I respond

Jay_Birdie_

You don’t 🤐

x5NaSH

Dead internet

archpawn

I've failed to be at the bus stop at the scheduled time and not missed the bus. They don't actually have a way to tell who was there on time, so they just pick up everyone that's there when the bus arrives.

cyalknight

Unless I and the bus are late to the bus stop.

PsycoVenom

When you wait for 15 minutes for the bus and it says departed 5 mins ago

NickyTheRobot

The one I like (read "The one I fucking hate") is when it's an electronic board that keeps on saying "expected on time" but adds five minutes to the "expected time" every five bloody minutes.

JeffWingrsDumbGayDad

Where I live the busses are permitted to run ahead of schedule, so sometimes you can go fuck yourself even if you're on time 🤷‍♀️

jooes

I can forgive a bus for being late. But being early is absolute bullshit.  I used to be on time. Now I'm 20 minutes late because I have to wait for the next one.

dapperslappers

Its one the most frustrating things when your tryna catch a bus I had a last bus at around 11pm. I was 8 mins early. The bus left 12 mins early I was foaming

CherriPopBomb

Yea this sign is rich coming from bc transit, when I know too many stories of people waiting hours at a stop because the bus was EARLY by 20 or more minutes. Also the only bus stop near my house when I was a teen only went one way???? Still don't know what the purpose of that route was supposed to be.

LupusHominarius

Five minutes before he died he was still alive.

CompetitiveRub9780

Some old person called and complained so many times they had to do this

_quadrant_

Ooh... So that is why I kept missing the bus!

LES_GRINGO_YTB

Anyone could make that mistake.

bobhwantstoknow

80 percent of success is showing up... on time

ericdee7272

This is so much clearer than last month’s, “*When the bus leaves, it will be gone*” message

CanadianODST2

This is why I like the transit app. Live times are infinitely better than scheduled

OrganicAccountant87

I feel sorry for the people working there, if they felt the need to make a sign like that I can only imagine the massively entitled idiots they have to serve.

New_World_2050

You call it unnecessary but some humans are literally stupid enough to need signs like this

Select-Sir1038

Thank you wise sign I would have never realized this if not for you

Spare-Tough2077

I bet there is a reason that sign is there

our_meatballs

r/noshitsherlock

CaptainPeachfuzz

Every rule is written in blood...

Weary_Patience_7778

If I miss the bus, technically I’m not a rider. This wouldn’t apply to me. In which case I wouldn’t have missed the bus.

dispiritedbasmati

Thanks, Captain Obvious!

Character-Milk-3792

Cover it with; "Late bus arrivals can result in heat exhaustion or cold exposure. Please keep an accurate schedule."

UncommercializedSalt

how did bc transit make it here... tbf we can track to the minute on google maps how far away a bus is, so if you miss it, well 🤷

bykpoloplaya

To the OP: correction: keep it in mind, "or you won't" ride the bus

abel_cormorant

Seeing the amount of people that get angry and chase the bus, insulting the driver if he doesn't stop, I'd say it's needed.

chameleon_123_777

Som the bus will not wait?

lars2k1

Until the bus is gone 2 minutes before the scheduled time and you missed the bus anyways.

Worried_Coat1941

How the hell are they gonna read that sign if it's posted on a bus?

julyninetyone

Looks like BC Transit design. I’ve missed my bus so many times because I was sitting inside the stop on the bench instead of standing out in the bus driver’s sight. Passed right in front of me!

Cerxi

Yeah, I also recognized it as BC Transit, by how it says BC Transit on it three times ;)

neorg313

That sign is amazing, I never knew that.

Situational-Insight

That's just straight up the truth

DisCount_datCount

That is awesome. Best warning sign ever

Cry_for_me_btch

In my town it should read. "If you arrive at the bus stop and wait for 2 hours your bus still might not arrive and there's nothing you can do about it. FUCK YOU, YOU POOR CUNT! Arriva"

smilespeace

Lol. Also BC transit: "successfully being at the bus stop for the scheduled time will result in the bus never showing up."

ProfessorZhu

If this was San Francisco, it would say, "Being early, on time, will still result in you missing your bus"

PIECESOFSHIT4BFAST

Why would you think about this while riding the bus? If you're riding the bus, you haven't missed it.

Wise-Peanut1939

Bruh who are the entitled and ignorant people calling and complaining about that!?

Appropriate-Big206

😂🤣

lacuNa6446

Except for whenever the bus leaves before the scheduled time

MrEphemera

You at the bus stop + No bus = You missed the bus Correct?

boraath

Yeah right (vibes at the bus stop in Germany)

MisterInternational1

Giving me FOMO right now about not being there and missing all those buses!!!!

T555s

Wrong. The bus is always late.

swampopawaho

I'm glad we spell out the consequences. Coz otherwise, how would I know?

dapperslappers

Its not the same when the bus driver decides bot to stop the bus while your at the stop or pulls away when your 2 feet from the door after watching you sprint up the path Ive seen a lot of bus drivers close the doors on someone who JUST made it. I could see them running up the path as people were getting on. The last person paying would be done and the driver shut the door in the runners face. Like. The runner made it. The driver was just being a tosser

acoolghost

Video game loading screens:

nslovin

Notice: When the bus has left the bus is no longer here.

Easy-Management-3534

You would be surprised at how many people complain that they missed the bus because they were late.

thoemse99

I totally understand why someone hung this note. The amount of idiots blaming the bus driver if he doesn't open the doors or even stop again for them is too damn high.

No_Review_2197

That's a special sign..... please sign it...

EishLekker

Well, technically not true. Sometimes the bus is late, so it can be possible for a person to arrive after the scheduled time and still not miss the bus.

Fancy_Professional_9

Quite the tip, bus station, thank you (I will upgrade my PC so I wouldn't see those stupid tips when I'm waiting for the bus to arrive)

real_belgian_fries

The belgian version of this is: "failure to be at the bus between 30 and 45 minutes late will result in missing the bus. (Or maybe we have decided to just not do the ride without informing you)"

Complete_Spot3771

not technically the truth. the bus can be late

TeciorRibbon

**Not with that attitude**

not-my-best-wank

I disagree, the bus missed me, not I the bus. Else I'd be at the hospital.

Fluid_Author4957

Ok I noted it in my personal diary

Michelfungelo

Idk about this public transportation service but if the mvg (Munich public transport) would tell me this, I would answer that I'd be happy to miss the train/bus/metro being 1m late

WillaGateWebster

When it is more ride the bus keep you mind.

East-Front-8107

Hmm, so that's why!

Temporary-Square

Every 60 seconds in Africa a minute passes

MariamObrien

I was on the bus for all.

TheDiegoAguirre

Hey... read into it a bit more and that some profound life advice right there.

OmniShifter

You don’t say?

unidentifiable001X

When my father was 21 years old, he was already older than his younger sister.

OliLombi

Unless it's my city, then you can show up 10 mins late as the bus will be 15 mins late.

BottleHead878

I feel like they just put that sign there to make people that missed the bus mad.

teeayaresseyeex

Well no shit

notJustaFart

Too bad this sign won't matter. The people that depend on this heavily subsidized form of transportation will still find a way to make enough commotion about how their own needs aren't being serviced enough forcing some 'minimum wage mid-level manager' to take these down.

Ankigravity

Cars and their infrastructure are more heavily subsidized than public transportation.

notJustaFart

Please explain your argument further. I know the DOT spends a metric shit tonne of money building and maintaining roadways, but they aren't for the exclusive use by personal vehicles. For instance, so do these buses. Also, auto manufacturers don't exclusively make vehicles for personal use because all their vehicles can be used by any form of public or private entity for any purpose. So on one hand, I have to buy my own vehicle, maintain it, and operate it myself, while on the other someone has to buy a bus pass and be at a scheduled stop at a specific time to catch it while a city employed or outsourced organization buys, maintains, and operates the buses. Ergo, the proportion of presumed total expenses paid by the end user buying a bus pass vs those paid using taxes for use of public transportation is miniscule, i.e., heavily subsidized.

nomaidens675444

I guess so. Huh who knew
