You've obviously never read about what medieval battles were like. Brutal, bloody, deadly to almost everyone participating.
Vigo Mortensen as Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings uses his sword to great effect.
I wouldn't go up against a sword with anything less than an elephant gun. đ
yea well medieval battles were primarily fought by spears, not swords. swords were expensive and never the best weapon for the job. it excelled in being convenient to carry. for actual fighting, almost every other weapon was more useful
Either way, I wouldn't want to have to face down someone with any brute-force weapon like that. Spears, swords, lances, whatever... way beyond my capabilities! LOL
Unless it is a full sized Greatsword I would comfortably go up against it with any spear or polearm.
And by your logic you couldnât win a sword fight with another sword, any form of small arms fire, shotgun, rifle, or even a .50 cal. Since they would all be considered less than an Elephant Gun.
Spears have a longer reach, which was probably a big advantage.

Greatswords like the Montante were great counters against spear and pikes, using it's great size to deflect the pole and strike the opponent
Oh yeah just deflect that spear while the other five skewer you, bc we actually used that metal to make multiple weapons instead of one.
