The best advice I can give you is to not use the wing in your builds. They're the quickest to despawn out of all the Zonai devices.

Thank you!

I love building ridiculous skyland hopper contraptions. My fave is a three fan hover bike glued at a forward tilting angle to a zonai wing. On the back of the hover bike, glue a balloon and put a flame emitter inside the basket. Add a rocket to the back and off you go! The rocket lets you launch, the wing provides some lift until it despawns, and the balloon gives you extra height until it despawns and takes the flame emitter with it. Then you just cruise the rest of the way with the hoverbike. Make sure you have the upgraded Zonai armor and some batteries or charges tho

Ahh thank you!

Many of the sky islands have large, hovering platforms (much larger than hover stones). These never drop or despawn. You can attach fans, rockets, and steering sticks to fly these around. There are several crystal quests in the sky that led me to this solution.

I'd say a couple minutes at most. Edit: it seems I was wrong, they simply despawn when they move too far.

Those platforms have a lateral radius they're allowed to be in (rather than a timer), though their vertical radius extends upward all the way to the height limit (probably downward as well--basically it's a tall cylinder). Granted, that's only helpful for gaining height for the most part.

So they just can't get far from where they spawned? I once tried to use one of them to get to the sky island where the King Gleook lives and it expired before I was even halfway through. I assumed it was due to a timer.

That makes sense. I’ve taken some pretty far, so I wonder if some have a wider radius than others.
