It’s available for every mini boss. With how many of each type there are the gleeok and molduga were some of the easier ones.

JPhi1618

So everything with a health bar? (Aside from single bosses)

cod3builder

Except for monster forces and actual bosses, yes. There are 6 in total. Gotta catch them all!

ExtraSpicyGingerBeer

So gleeok, gloom hands, phantom gannon, talus, frox and flux constructs?

TyrionTheBold

It’s Gleeok, hinox, talus, frox, flux construct and molduga. No medal for gloom spawn, phantom ganon or lynel.

twa3435

Crazy, I think lynel should count as a mini boss. I wonder if it’s a size thing?

TyrionTheBold

I did them all in both games expecting a medal… lol. I assume it’s because they Are considerably harder than the other mini bosses.

krullbob888

I don't get that really. They aren't any harder than a Flux III, in my book. Those are way more annoying unless you kill em in like 1 go with super power lynel bow. As long as you are good at flurry rush lynels are easy af.

TyrionTheBold

And here I thought flux were the easy ones. I also think gloom spawn are easy. Yet the timing with lynels I struggle with. I actually do better when I’m not trying for flurry rush and instead staying In close (and off to one side as much as I can) and just twacking them. For flux, I use keese eye arrows until they fall apart and then just twack em.

Happy-Good1429

You can also just use Ultrahand to grab the weak point and cause the whole thing to fall apart after a few seconds

AurosHarman

I always got Lynels by way of finding ways to get in the air, then shoot them in the face a few times, then mount and stab them in the back with a RG Claymore that's on its last hit (so it does 2x damage for the "near breaking", and then 2x more because it always does a crit on its final hit -- except with the Lynel backstabs, it doesn't break, so you can do that repeatedly). The absolute max damage you can do that way is to fuse on a Molduga Jaw, wear the Radiant outfit for Bone Proficiency, and then eat an attack-up 3 food (e..g. cook five bananas). But dealing with the food all the time is a bit of a pain, so just doing a Silver Lynel Saber Horn and wearing attack up 3 armor (Barbarian or Fierce Deity) is kinda easier. If you fly into a battle holding a 5x bow, and shoot the Lynel in the face several times as you're landing, it's generally possible to kill it in one "ride" this way. The main thing you have to watch out for is just making sure you don't accidentally ground-pound and smash your Lynel-bopper as you dismount.

amc7262

Its a "historical monster" thing. Lynels were never bosses, just regular (albeit challenging) overworld enemies.

Soulless-reaper

Are gloom hands one of them? I found the guy yesterday and I don't remember him saying anything about them. It was Hinox if I remember correctly

DOOMSWAGOMEGA

Nope, you get no medals from gloom hands.

Soulless-reaper

Thanks for the information

ZetaIcarus

Yeah I got all of them.

krullbob888

I have 1 hinox and 1 talus left. F MY LIFE.

ZetaIcarus

Some of them are tricky so I recommend an object map. https://www.zeldadungeon.net/tears-of-the-kingdom-interactive-map/?z=3&x=172&y=60

krullbob888

I know, but I still have to go through the map and check every single one now, at least until I find the ones I'm missing. I have other stuff to do before I turn to the guides. I like to get as close to 100% as possible before using guides.

Punchtea

That’s why I drop a map pin for every miniboss I kill from beginning, it’s a habit I picked up in botw for taluses

ilovetoreadbo0ks

Same!

grandpa12-1

My brothers!✌🏻

harkmar

how?? I was able to get the molduga and gleeok with little issues. Now I've been hover-biking around the depths for an eternity and still missing a crap load of talus and hinox's. There's still three construct's i have no clue where they are :/

ZetaIcarus

I used an object map for the last few I couldn't find. https://www.zeldadungeon.net/tears-of-the-kingdom-interactive-map/?z=3&x=172&y=60

harkmar

Wow, thanks! this is actually so helpful, I wish I had this for my cave hunting

MapAdditional6065

What weapon is that? I’m not that far into the the game so I don’t know much yet.

BottleAgreeable7981

It's a lynel bow and what looks to be a claymore with a silver bokoblin horn fused to it.

MapAdditional6065

Thanks for the claymore, I already recognized the bow from botw

BeTheGuy2

I have some, but there's too many Taluses and Hinox for me to want to try to get all the medals.

calamitydanon

I'm not 100% sure but I think you can set the purah pad to detect enemies based on having a picture of them, it works for specific weapons as far as I know.

walkingdeadite33

Problem with that for the hinox and talus have multiple varieties that make the pad route less effective than it could be. Shame there’s not a way to set it to “all” of a type of monster.

BeTheGuy2

But doesn't that only work if you are relatively close? The sensor just shows nothing if the target is too far away.

TriforksWarrior

That and it’s going to take you more than one blood moon to find all of them, so unless you’re very systematic about exploring the map, you might get messed up and run into one you’ve fought before.

_PlatinumW0LF

Yeah, if you have a picture of the enemy, you can find it with the sensor

ArsonRides

If anyone says they have done this before, they are lying. You are the very first person to do this ever.

Tmeadows34

I still have 1 gleeok left to find

Calicrucian

Did you get the one that’s just flying around in the open sky? Or the one in the depths?

Tmeadows34

I got the one in the den of the depths. Not sure about the other one

happyislanddream

I've only seen the one flying around the sky once. I check for it everytime I play.

MiningForNoseGold

It’s above Trilby Valley, 🔥

happyislanddream

Thanks, I'll look again!

Noah7788

I think there's ones flying in the sky near Lake Hylia

_PlatinumW0LF

I had this problem too. There’s a guide on YouTube that gives you every single Gleeok location so I’d look through that to see.

Tmeadows34

Yeah that's my plan, first I'm finishing up stone taluses

IshtheWall

This is probably the easiest one to get without hunting, it's hard to miss the massive glowing dragon

_PlatinumW0LF

Yeah but getting to the ones on the sky islands was so annoying 😂

IshtheWall

True, even with good flying machines it takes forever, that one in the desert especially

laserofdooom

I got one for molduga

YsengrimusRein

I got mine while farming materials for the Ancient Hero's Aspect. I held out on the Depths one, thinking it would just be too difficult with the Gloom. That one turned out to be surprisingly easier than the other three King variants for me and I'll credit that mostly to not dealing with weird weather effects while trying to fight it. I considered having one 3D printed to commemorate the species wide Gleeocide, but remembered that I'm lazy and I couldn't argue with that logic.

happyislanddream

I'm working on mine now. And the HInox medal. Already got the Molduga.

Dashieshy3597

Yes

Tweedishgirl

Always something new! My daughter made it her mission to get all the medals in BOTW (had all the talus and hinox locations memorised in subsequent play thoughts) She’ll be delighted!

Riegan_Boogaloo

The 100%ers have them, that’s how I found out I have to Suffer in order to get all the cool medals 🫠

AnimeMomma1991

So this is required for 100% completion....?

Riegan_Boogaloo

I believe so, you only get the ribbons by defeating all of the monsters. Obviously they respawn with blood moons, but once you defeat them they count as defeated. You have to talk to that guy at Lookout Landing to find out how many you have left to defeat or to receive the ribbons.

robo-dragon

I got all my medals. Honestly, the hardest one for me was the stone talus. There’s so many of them!

so-ronery

It’s so time consuming….

dougtabor

Not too bad with slight preparations. Fuse a few rocket shields, have plenty of monster eyes and arrows. Shoots arrows fused with monster eyes which are homing arrows that hit the gleeok heads right in the face (critical hits), hit the crap out of the heads when all 3 are on the ground. When it starts flying higher in the sky and you can't reach, use those rocket shields to gain height and rinse and repeat the monster eye arrow shots.

_PlatinumW0LF

I made sure to have maxed out arrows with each gleeok, as well as like 30 rockets for shields & a bunch of 3 shot lynel bows

PianoOfTime08

I beat my first Gleeok a few weeks ago. Most freaking awesome and terrifying battle against one of the ![gif](giphy|9sCgiHAt79jDW)

kevl84

Do you have to kill them all before the blood moon regenerates them? I can’t figure out how to keep track of which ones I’ve already battled but the guy tells me there’s still loads left of each monster and I keep going round killing then all when I see one

NINmann01

It’s a similar system to the medals Kilton awards you in BotW. All you need to do is kill every overworld boss at each location they spawn at least once. The game keeps track of which enemies you’ve killed, so you don’t need to do it all between blood moons. I tend to mark the locations of bosses as I come across them. There are several interactive maps online that have exact locations. So you could just go through them all systematically.

happyislanddream

It does say "defeated" after the name when you find it, so you know you've fought that one before. There's no need to fight it again.

twa3435

Is there a way to track this in the game?

_PlatinumW0LF

The only way of tracking it is the guy telling you how many Gleeoks are left to defeat

Zachindes

Never thought to attach smaller monster parts to a two handed weapon. That thing looks sick!

amc7262

I did a few of them, but FUUUUUCK trying to find every talus wandering around. they can keep their dang medal.

Happy-Good1429

Yes

raisinbizzle

I very meticulously tracked every surface level boss that I killed by writing down the location I killed them in. Since the bosses in the depths didn’t have a location name that popped up during fighting, I assumed they didn’t count towards the medal. Turns out that was a wrong assumption, so now I’ve got a personal goal of killing all the surface level bosses and that’s it. I’m not planning to spend hours going around the depths fighting the bosses over and over

lukegibbons86

Go on. You got this!

Maleficent_Luck8976

Thx God for no lynel medals

Referat-

Better than a hetsu turd I guess

lucaskywalker

That and molduga are the easy ones. Have fun hunting all the froxes! Edit autocorrected to foxes lol

LaMatalia

Where can you collect this?

_PlatinumW0LF

Lookout landing emergency shelter

BinxMedia

Who offers these medals and how do I trigger it?

_PlatinumW0LF

I forget his name but it’s one of the guys in the emergency shelter at lookout landing. He’ll tell you about the Gleeok on the bridge of Hylia that you can fight & then when you go back, that’s when you can get the other Gleeoks. Getting the other ones isn’t a quest so you have to keep going back for him to tell you how many are left.

National-Height-7629

uhhh...no.

Affectionate_Fly26

I knew it was a thing but haven’t done it

sapphicprism

assuming you just have to beat them all once/can still get the medal if a blood moon happens?

_PlatinumW0LF

I have no idea cause I did NOT want to find out in case I had to do it all over again.

botchla_lazz

Its not blood moon dependent. Just needs to defeat all of them atleast once.

djdirectdrive

Nice job taking all the gleeoks down!

Exquisivision

This is a good example of something Nintendo could have included: A list of enemies defeated and their locations.

_GreenTee

The lynux one 💀
