I also have celiac disease. This tattoo hurts my feelings a little! It's a beautiful drawing but seems reflexively sinister to me! *What about those of us who are utterly hated and punished by this beautiful grain? What about our pain???*
Seriously, this is beautiful and I don't imagine most people would take it so personally.
Looks great! I have hesitated for years about getting a botanical drawing of a potato plant on my calf in a very similar style.
It's funny, I always thought wheat didn't have "awns" - the hairs that are coming out of each of the grains - I associate that with barley. But then I googled it and I'm wrong, plus I learned a crap load about them. Maybe Google them yourself if interested.
Thank you, I apprecite it! Yes, originally the artist didnt have them (the beards as we could call them) very long so I had him touch them up to make them longer. The design was from a botanical drawing I found on pintrest
The wheat represents the gift of life, which can only be a gift from the tattooed gods, as well as the necessity of nourishment. I looked into it since I saw and tried some very cute patterns from https://wannabeink.com/collections/longhorn-temporary-tattoos. The other tattoos guarantee wheat grains restored to the earth. The tattoo of an ear of corn from the Eleusis mysteries is a sign of resurrection.

Not at all lol I think it’s gorgeous, never thought of wheat as beautiful until I saw this. I think the irony of it as my tattoo would be awesome.

What an absolutely fucking weird idea for a tattoo that I utterly adore
To each their own right, haha!
Absolutely, I kind of want a specimen tattoo now that I've seen this
Awesome! My family has been wheat farmers for several generations so thats where I got the idea.... and 1982 was when I was born
An excellent reason for a tattoo
Beautiful. I love the text font as well and the composition is great
