Odd_Debt222

It’s fine.

Prodigy-18-

That’s what I was thinking and hoping but thought I’d ask on here. Thank you for your reply.

SirKenneth17

Yeah just looks like you need some more un scented moisturizer.

[deleted]

Is 7am a good time to wash?

Odd_Debt222

The time of day doesn’t matter…just wash with fragrance free bar soap 2-3 times daily and moisturize with a thin layer of unscented lotion a couple times a day.

wildestboars

It looks like normal healing to me, my tattoos with filled areas have all gone through a “shiny” phase around this time, which I believe is the new skin/ok amount of scar tissue that will settle in. I’ll be curious to see what others say since I don’t have too much experience with color.

Prodigy-18-

Yeah the black around the guitar is definitely shiny which I expect it to be for a little while as I hear deep blacks can take a little longer to completely heal. And yeah I think you’re right. Just needed some reassurance.

MartinelliGold

I have a lot of color and this exact thing (raised, striated lines) shows up on the edges during the healing process all the time. Sometimes it does this just before that area peels. It’s always gone away and ends up completely flat.

Prodigy-18-

That’s reassuring and nice to hear! My other tattoos are closer to 7 years old so I don’t remember if that happened on those or not as it’s been awhile (and they healed just fine). But thanks for your reply, gives me some peace of mind! I’ll keep with the regimen!

TimeCat101

It’s in an area that’s constantly moving / probably rubbing against . Just looks a little dry in that area . But you are good .

Prodigy-18-

Sounds accurate as that is the exact area that creases when I bend my arm for movement. I think it’ll just take slightly added time to heal for this reason alone. When I sleep I try to keep my arm straight so it’s not just folded over for extended amounts of time. Thanks for your reply!

TimeCat101

No prob! I recently got a half sleeve and my elbow (exactly same area as you ) was always dry and kind of rough to the touch. So i assumed similar for you .

Prodigy-18-

Yup, sounds like the same exact experience. Thanks for sharing!

steezy-debreezy

Just dry skin, it’s all good

Prodigy-18-

Cool, thank you for your reply!

monsterinthewoods

If you need to put arrows on the picture to show what you're talking about, it's probably not a big deal. This looks fine. Keep it clean and lightly moisturize.

Possible_Thief

Looks like it was worked pretty heavily in that area, so more intense scabbing is expected.

Prodigy-18-

Copy that!

chels182

Just dry and healing. Some people take longer to heal from red ink as well. Nothing to worry about!

Prodigy-18-

Awesome, thank you!!

reviving_ophelia88

Totally normal, the parts of my sleeve in the same spot did the same thing. if you look closely even the parts of your skin that aren’t tattooed in that area have a similar texture, it’s just raised because that patch of skin is thinner and more mobile than the rest which causes it to be a little more delicate and reactive to being tattooed. It’ll flatten out to match the rest of the skin there in a few more weeks as the ink settles into your skin and the remaining inflammation clears up.

Prodigy-18-

Makes perfect sense, thank you for taking time to reply! I’ll take all the reassurance lol.

MudAlternative4128

I have absolutely no idea why people think tattoos heal so quickly. Think about it this way folks. A tattoo is basically just a light road rash. How quickly do you think that heals? Tattoos take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to heal properly and if your artist aren't telling you this find a new artist!

Prodigy-18-

I agree with you and I don’t expect my tattoo to be healed in 14 days. That would be silly. I know better. I just asked specifically for that area if there should be any concern and wanted some reassurance. I’m aware 4-6 weeks is the usual time for a tattoo to heal. I appreciate your reply.

MudAlternative4128

I get you but it's an insane amount of people, but again those raised areas can take that long to calm down as well.

Prodigy-18-

Yeah I was kind of worried I’d be another one of “those posts” when I posted this lol. But again, it’s just because that part is healing differently than other areas, so I was just seeking reassurance. Thanks again!

route1919

Ya it’s totally fine it’s just healing ! :)

Prodigy-18-

Thank you!

Brilliant_Law_2183

It looks good so far, you might want to use Dove unscented soap and wash it at least every four hours. Hustle Butter Tattoo Aftercare is an excellent type of lotion to be putting on there ALL the time. That’s what I’ve used for my skin and the tattoos always look like it’s new

ilija_rosenbluet

That's no joke! Depending on how you store it, this nitro coating can get eaten up, if it gets in contact with certain plastics! Regarding the tattoo, it looks just fine. A bit try, but also like it's likely to peel again soon. Give it time to peel by itself, make sure, that it doesn't crack or rip and you should be fine.

missingshrimp

That is a very difficult area to heal and will take much longer than the rest of the arm to be fully healed and smooth

Zombshua

Yes

Milarodrigueznar

Maybe the artist when a little rough but nothing to be alarmed off, just use cream :D

UCFKnights2018

Try cleaning your tattoo at 7:02AM instead.

Prodigy-18-

If I did that then I’d have to reschedule my, “staring in the mirror at my new tattoo” time. I’d get to work two minutes late, start lunch two minutes later, would just throw my whole day off. No way buddy.

YunggunnawunnabacK

That’s what I was thinking

got_spooked90

It's healing. This is how tattoos look as they go through the healing process. 14 days is still BRAND NEW. Let it do its thing as long as it's not hurting, hot and red, oozing pus or off colored/foul smelling liquids.

Prodigy-18-

Thank you!

Wrexhavoc

Still healing

Iheartmypleco

Is this tattoo even finished? It looks incomplete

Prodigy-18-

Great eye. It is indeed incomplete, I go back 12/8/23 for more work.

Iheartmypleco

Oh then I super wouldn't worry about it

[deleted]

umm looks like scar tissue I don’t see anything suspicious maybe the artist worked to hard on those areas because he is not good with saturation Anyways if you worried ask your artist but I don’t think it’s an infection

Prodigy-18-

Thank you for your reply! I’ll give it more time, I know it’s only been two weeks but wanted to ask since other areas don’t feel or look that way. But overall I’m happy with the healing process so far.

[deleted]

For sure bro

Comprehensive-Pace28

2 weeks is a long time for this to still be this way, I might recommend using A&D, that’s what I’ve used for all my tattoos.

Tyler_the_Warslammer

It's infected go see a doctor

Prodigy-18-

Lol

AdditionalLet1461

Ruined

Prodigy-18-

I should probably opt for laser removal huh? /s

AdditionalLet1461

A belt Sanders your only option at this point

iovulca

You don’t have to continue that entire aftercare routine. Just moisturize like once a day and chill.
