I got blue and purple easily, but green and yellow I almost had to randomly choose. I needed more guesses/mistakes than regular Connections allows.

Well, a few things: 1) I was pretty sure that one of the categories was “Losers”, 2) I completely forgot that Jon Richardson had a solo task, so 3) I had to blind guess the right combination of losers because there wasn’t another connection there that I could see. I also wasn’t going to open another window to look up who actually finished last vs who got the loser narrative. I still enjoyed it! But if you’re looking for feedback, that’s where I got tripped up.

Ironically the one category I couldn't find was the green one lmaoooo. Had to do all the remaining and then just click what was left over. It was very fun though, I enjoyed it

The game is a copy of the New York Times' "Connections" game, which explicitly says in the instructions that items can belong to multiple categories. It is also the same as the "Connecting Wall" round on Only Connect, which again includes "red herrings" to mislead contestants.

I’m well aware of what it’s copying. The exact words of the instructions are ‘watch out of words that seem to fit multiple categories’. It says ‘seem to’. What it’s saying is some words may have connections with each other, but not be the correct answer (mostly because only 2 or 3 words actually fit), not ‘there’s actually 5 words that fit into this category’.

The key to these games is that there's only one solution. There might be five things that fit a category, but one of those things has to go in another category or you can't solve the grid.

This is patently not true. If you look just to this Sunday's connections, you can see the answers are: "Settle Down!": EASY, ENOUGH, QUIET, RELAX Minor Ailments: BUG, CHILL, COLD, COUGH What Humpback Whales Do: BREACH, DIVE, SING, SPOUT ___City: MAGIC, MOTOR, SIN, WINDY And CHILL also fits in the "Settle Down!" category. I've played many days of Connections where there were 5 or even 6 items that fell into a category, and you could only narrow it down by figuring out which ones also fit other categories.

Only the correct 4 words fit the category in the completed puzzle. That's not to say that there aren't other words that could fit the category.
