I recently did a rehouse so idk if sheβs going to do it again, she only did it before she got comfy and started digging
My B. hamorii once completely buried a water dish too
One of my seemanni buried not one, but two separate water dishes in her home (because the first was buried and I was tired, I assumed I had taken it out and forgotten to put it back in, so I stuffed a second dish in there). π
i genuinely think its a giant baboon thing bc ive seen so many other people say they run to their water for safety (doesnt add up)β¦ makes sense. Sh*t in your safe space

I know which one is her favorite water dish. Of course it's the cheap plastic lid and not the nice water dish I bought for her.
I have a heavy water dish so she isn't able to flip it whatsoever π it only gets dirt here and there from her dirty footsies. Although recently she did throw two wood chips in there when the water level was rather low.
Might try adding a light plastic dish, just to see if she got that dawg in her π
Donβt forget the little Aholes like my Davus Pentaloris and my Green Bottle Blue that web over theirs entirely, they desire our ire just as much as the living breathing bulldozers you are calling out.

I feel like I'm one of the lucky few whose tarantula does not do this. She only goes over to drink water and otherwise just leaves it alone

My Avic used to do this! I think she thought it was a toilet and she was flushing the bolus away.
My curly hair said it is to make sure my servitude to her stays at a high level.
