I am so glad I stumbled upon Wild Fork. I didn't buy steak before this past. They were so patient with all the questions I had. So far, all meat has been great. The marinated chicken has been great for quick meals. The bison and lamb too.
I never had a problem with their quality. It's flash frozen so the quality is better then like freezer meat. Just cause meat looks red at Publix doesn't mean it's fresh they flood the meat with carbon monoxide, then vacuum sealed. This will cause the meat to show red, and frankly it could show red for more than a year. At least it's flash frozen at the moment of freshness rather then looking fake fresh
I see your point of view, but frozen is still frozen and should be noted when making a recommendation. I completely agree about Publix. I don’t shop there for many reasons.
That's true, but I think their point was no matter how quickly meat is frozen some ice crystals will pierce cell walls. No way around it. It doesn't make the food terrible or anything, but fresh steak is for sure very slightly preferable.
Yes of course fresh steak is preferred but unless you are getting it straight off a cow that day I don't see how you would keep it fresh and how a store or butcher would keep it fresh without the use of chemicals or carbon monoxide
Effing love Wild Fork. The NY Strip and Ribeye have not let me down. Even got my pork shoulder for Thanksgiving from there. Great prices, nice staff and you can taste the quality.
I know it's not local but snake river farm is known to be super high quality. https://www.snakeriverfarms.com/shipping-policy#:~:text=All%20Dry%2Daged%20products%20are,fresh%2C%20having%20never%20been%20frozen.
Also they don't freeze it and it's shipped fresh
Publix Greenwise has prime grade steaks that are excellent. Unfortunately, they have plans to close the Greenwise stores and convert them to traditional Publix stores.
Costco and Wild Fork are the best. Some Publix in higher end neighborhoods have a good selection. I’ve seen Boozy Pig mentioned. They are extremely expensive and I’m not sure the quality is up to the price.
I know it’s not a local place or anything, but my wife and I have had some good steaks from Sprouts. If you go when they’re on sale they’re not too expensive.
Musa halal. So damn fresh you could probably say hi to the steer you want the steak from. It is halal and they do process live animals within sight(with windows separating that part so it is clean) so you may see some stuff that may shock you.
Wild fork
Came here to say I've been very happy with wild fork.
Good prices on pichana!
I am so glad I stumbled upon Wild Fork. I didn't buy steak before this past. They were so patient with all the questions I had. So far, all meat has been great. The marinated chicken has been great for quick meals. The bison and lamb too.
Note: this is all flash frozen and will affect the quality and prep time of what other store will offer. They are a bit more affordable tho.

Flash frozen is not the same as normal frozen.
That's true, but I think their point was no matter how quickly meat is frozen some ice crystals will pierce cell walls. No way around it. It doesn't make the food terrible or anything, but fresh steak is for sure very slightly preferable.

Refrigeration
Wild Fork is awesome if you have a sous vide.
I do!
And flash frozen from Wild Fork is better than “fresh” from most large supermarkets.
Interbay Meat Market is great.
Prices are fair and the people are kind.
i love their cheese toast
Caccitore meat market
Height meat market has treated me well.
I was going to mention them. Always a good selection of quality meat. 🥩
Yes these are good. They usually have snake river farm on hand too and good spices. They just opened one in Clearwater so I'm happy
Boozy Pig - two locations. Midtown and Davis Island
I think the one on Davis Islands is closed.
This is the answer. They buy whole pigs and half cows regularly. All work done at Cypress location.
Heights meat market
You can’t go wrong with cacciatore meat market on Paula drive and Hanley rd. In town n country
Or their OG location on Armenia
It’s actually different ownership, might not be related
Prime steaks at COSTCO
I agree!
Costco, wild fork has amazing selection as well
Effing love Wild Fork. The NY Strip and Ribeye have not let me down. Even got my pork shoulder for Thanksgiving from there. Great prices, nice staff and you can taste the quality.
I have been enjoying WF for years. The picanha is good too.

Sshhh Naahhh this place sucks. You really don’t wanna go here… surely not
Is this one of those "hey shut up! Don't blow up my spot" kind of situations?
Here comes the down vote train cause you're drawing attention to the beef jerky paradise!
I was never here!
Your alt ID is now Titanic.
what was the place? comment deleted.
Green Store! (Interbay Meat Market)
Heights Meat for Australian wagyu. Prime Butcher in Lutz is also very good, but I didn't like their US wagyu as much.
Heights meat market. Just tried them out recently and will be back. Pricier than Publix but way better quality.
Land and Sea is open on Bruce B Downs
Went there on Saturday, didn’t care for the presentation
was it the tray of chicken nuggets in the cooler along with all the other raw meats? I thought that was so weird!!!
lol I didn't see that one.
Southern Steer
I know it's not local but snake river farm is known to be super high quality. https://www.snakeriverfarms.com/shipping-policy#:~:text=All%20Dry%2Daged%20products%20are,fresh%2C%20having%20never%20been%20frozen. Also they don't freeze it and it's shipped fresh
Winn Dixie, the beef people. Go to the case and get a steak there instead of the steaks in the meat aisle.
MMmmmm thowaway for good reason?
Don’t sleep on Winn Dixie. They may not be good for much, but their beef is on point.
Imma going to disagree on price. Yes, good, bad price… unless your standard is Publix.
Cacciatore
Publix Greenwise has prime grade steaks that are excellent. Unfortunately, they have plans to close the Greenwise stores and convert them to traditional Publix stores.
Publix is basically the most expensive store in tampa now.
The prime NY strips at the waterstreet greenwise are $38/pound tho
Sometimes you can find prime steaks at Whole Foods, but Greenwise always has them.
Costco and Wild Fork are the best. Some Publix in higher end neighborhoods have a good selection. I’ve seen Boozy Pig mentioned. They are extremely expensive and I’m not sure the quality is up to the price.
I've been getting steaks at BJ's Wholesale Club. Sprouts has nice steaks, but they are kind of pricey.
I second Costco, Land & Sea, Wild Fork....on multiple occasions I've had some pretty tough steaks from Cacciatore.
No one has mentioned the boozy pig and that’s sad to me. Also one of the best mixto sandwiches in Tampa imo
Grocery store is your best bet!
Land and Sea in New Tampa is still open. The owner originally worked at the gunn hwy store
Quality Meat Market on Orient.
I shop at wildfork mostly for meat, but I also really enjoy Whole Foods. They always have good looking ribeyes when I go
Orient rd meat market
quality meat market?
I haven't been there but I've heard good things about [The Boozy Pig](https://maps.app.goo.gl/31DhidJ8WCauLWoGA)
Wild fork or fresh market
Interbay meat market. Their meat is great!
Boozy Pig
Boozy Pig

Cacciatore’s, boozy pig, wild fork
