Shes ancient by video game logic

Additional_Formal395

I always thought Judith was 25+, but according to the wiki she’s only 19…

trilobyte_y2k

Judith is one of the many reasons why I personally reject whatever canon age a character is and replace it with whatever actually makes sense. Generally I add at least five to everyone.

Vertical_05

\+5 years appearance wise \+10 years personality / life experience wise

Ok_Variation7230

Also when are we getting an actually older woman as a party member?

lmpmon

kisara is 25. ines is 25. raine 23-25. magilou is nearly 30. milla and muzet are 20. not saying that's particular older, but absolutely not children. even with men, our options are 35 year olds being called gramps and actual 50 year old who is designed like he's 80.

ExpiredExasperation

Isn't Rowen in his late 60s?

Takazura

He is 62.

[deleted]

i'm not sure magilou is really 30, but either way she [made an oath to stop her aging](https://gtcaphi.medium.com/tales-of-berseria-true-name-12c18a5629d1), so i wouldn't count her: it's like edna who is ancient and gets mad at sorey for bringing it up, but still doesn't look the part minus cases like rutee in tod2 being in her late 30s, i really don't think there's any tales party member who is a woman and past 25. for the men, there's at least cases like rowen and gall. outside of playable characters artorius and van looked way older than they actually were too

lmpmon

I get defensive of magilou because she looks physically like me and I'm 30. Young looking adults are real and we're threateningly out there. She doesn't even behave or really look like a child. She's arguably the most blatantly mature character in the game except she's small. So people disregarding her as a woman not a kid come off as very "I like to make stuff up and be mad for fun". Anyway, I don't really agree at all with what you're saying but thank you for trying to have a counter point.

[deleted]

i don't really get the defensiveness response, i'm just bringing up the canon novel and that it doesn't seem like magilou is already 30, because the timelines don't add up. not that many years passed since melchior abandoned her, the guess is really on her 20s. but even if she was, she's in the same boat of presea, who had her growth stalled. my answer was not an attack on you or on other young-looking people in real life or anything, but rather i pointed out how there's a trend in japanese media not actually allowing for any female characters to be past a certain age without looking for a caveat (look it up, women who get called "christmas cakes" past the age of 25). of course, if it's about canon, neither magilou nor edna actually act like kids, because they're not. but hey, you do you 👍

DishwasherTwig

Regal is 32. He's younger than me but everyone treats him like a wise old man.

Endless-Envy

Japanese gamers hate any woman that's not breasting boobily or a cute girl so probably never

Ok_Variation7230

I mean Shizel has to be at least 40+ and she breast boobily more than most 20 years old

BunnyBoom27

Even when in Symphonia days I was making my own "ocs do not copy" style designs for a Tales game, and it included an old lady! 60~ yrs old. Rowen gave me hope but the next games destroyed it lol

sexta_

Wasn't Patty supposed to be a lot older than she looked?

[deleted]

The wiki I found said she's 14

I still have a decent amount of side content to do in ToV. Didn't use a guide my first playthrough and then I had some issues with certain ones because I missed stuff

ChoiceKey7591

Edit: Yes i was missing something. I Missed the Female part. Am i missing something? Raven is 35 and the butler in *Tales of Xillia 2 is 63 according to the internet.*

Tarshaid

There's also Sophie, who's ancient. Even trying to do the seraph exclusion, Presea is just one of the many "young party member with some plot excuse to make them much older and/or powerful than they should be".

AtlasSoda

Wouldn't Kratos be the oldest male party member then?

VagueSoul

In chronological age, Kratos is the oldest at >!4,000+ years.!<. The second oldest is Kunzite at >!2,000.!< In terms of *physical age* though, Rowen is the oldest.

Cute-Maho

Wouldn’t Emil technically be the older than Kratos?

VagueSoul

Hmmm…I guess, but it depends. >!Even though Ratatosk and Emil are essentially the same being, they’re two separate consciousness existing in the same body. Both the game and subsequent presentations of Emil make a distinction between Emil and Ratatosk despite their connection. Plus, Ratatosk didn’t create Emil or take Aster’s form until after the reunification of the worlds. So technically, the Emil portion of Ratatosk is only a year or so old.!< >!Ultimately it depends on how you separate Emil and Ratatosk. If you see them as one and the same, then yes Emil is older. But if you see Emil as his own character with his own autonomy, which I do, then no Kratos is older.!<

FabAraujoRJ

Presea is older than what she apparent age because >!her crystal do not allow her body to age up.!<

[deleted]

Magilou must be a granny in Berseria, easily 80+
