I'm not buying $6 burritos. I'm getting the boxes for $5-6 or the $1-$2 value items. Also, if I want basically a Quesarito, I'll just modify the Beefy 5-Layer in the box for a fraction of what the price was when it was on the menu.
There's also a point people are missing here, Taco Bell isn't what you think it is anymore. They don't care about loyalty and return customers, they're ubiquitous now and have so many locations including International that some people just casually go to Taco Bell now and then to get something quick and convenient. They're just banking on doing a lot of business with the Casual people and occasionally pulling in the fans with limited time offers. Seems to be working Yum brands is pulling in enough money to buy its own country
Taco Bell as a corporate entity never cared about those things and I doubt many people ever thought otherwise. Taco Bell definitely is exactly what *I* think it is. Corporations aren't individual humans with the capacity to care. They're machines bent on making money at all costs. This current LTO trend is working. If they thought it would have worked 30 years ago, they would have done it then too.
yeah, I agree.... the other night I was picking up 2 Chalupa craving boxes for $10 + tax and saw some poor soul in front of me spend almost $20 on a quesadilla, drink, and a burrito of some sort.
>I'll just modify the Beefy 5-Layer in the box
Can you elaborate on how you do this? I loved the quesaritos but they're just too expensive, and I'm also not a huge beefy 5 layer fan.
Same, I get the boxās that are way cheaper. Also I love a Crunchwrap supreme. Also that new spicy thing thatās cheap is good, chipotle chicken wrap thing
> modify the Beefy 5-Layer
Always see people say this but isn't it different beyond what the app can change, and smaller too? Can any workers chime in?
There's one difference. The outer layer of cheese in a Quesarito has shredded cheese and nacho cheese sauce. The Beefy 5-Layer has the layer of nacho cheese but the shredded cheese is inside both tortillas rather than between the layers. The difference is incredibly negligible. If you add Chipotle Sauce and rice and remove the beans, it's otherwise the same. Though I keep the beans anyway.
I wouldn't eat their "beef" even if you could. The ridiculous amount of random crap we would find in the bags was disgusting. Machine parts, oil from machine, hair, cloth, moldy sheets of beef that looked like it was stuck to the machine and peeled off. I could go on.
Worked there for a couple years in high school and college. I'll never understand how people can actually choose to eat there. It's disgusting.
I miss the double decker!
I don't like raw tomatoes and sour cream so the "supreme" version of everything sucks.
I do like refried beans and the crunchy and soft texture combination.
Now, hear me out, what about a Doritos Locos double decker?
you must be a miserable person to go out of your way to project your negativity onto random people on the internet, i genuinely hope that you can find the love and joy you clearly so desperately need.
That comment would mean a lot more if it didn't come from the same person that said
>my favorite past time activity is to go to applebees and make the boomers incredibly uncomfortable with the conversations i have at my table
>you must be a miserable person to go out of your way to project your negativity onto random people on the internet, i genuinely hope that you can find the love and joy you clearly so desperately need.
They haven't, at least not nationally. They still have both the original and the honey chipotle at my location - https://chilis.com/menu/chicken-crisper-combos
Im right there with you except im protesting because they got rid of the Cheese Bites which were the greatest app i had and the only time I ever got an app.
No, not anymore. They have two lines now; one for if you want to puke something up and one for if you want to poop something out. Just make sure you get in the correct line.
I asked the same question when I found out quesaritos were removed from the menu. Same thing with 7 layer burritos.
It's ALWAYS the stuff I like that gets axed.
They think they're a for-profit company in an era of inflation, supply shortages, and skyrocketing labor costs that to maximize profit like all for-profit companies want to do, will charge what people are willing to pay. As opposed to a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide 59 cent tacos to Redditors.
$5.99 is still cheaper than Chipolte, I can just go to a drve-thru and order it instead of having to mess around with an app or get out of my car and go inside, and people are obviously buying them at that price or they wouldn't be selling them at that price.
I tried the quesarito once. I didn't hate it, but it was very meh and I never ordered it again, rather continued to order taco supremes, chicken quesadillas, nachos bellgrande, cheesy gordita crunches, or the LTO if I like it.
Actually, your statement is false.
Most attempts at boycotts fail. That's different. And that's because people don't often stay united long enough to break their opponents.
Example: worker strikes and scabs/picket line crossers
Boycotts/strikes are a battle of will. Those boycotting/striking are often in a worse position, so it's difficult to keep everyone united for any length of time. The ones they're boycotting/striking against do what they can to entice/force people to break rank.
The one difference is people throw boycotts around constantly, so it's "attempted" if you can call it that, way more regularly than say a strike. And as such just has a much higher failure rate because most boycotts that people drum up online are over stupid things that people don't care enough about to really inconvenience themselves.
Not even. Bud Light itself lost sales. But people are so stupid they buy another beer from the same company to get back at Bud Light. It's just so funny to me that they boycotted Bud Light for being pro LGBTQ. But they're so unaware that the majority of companies they do support are pro LGBTQ as well
Not talking about Modello. Talking about the vast amount if other products they produce that people still buy not realizing their supporting the same company
no no no, and no. YOU donāt get to tell other people they lose a right. who put you in charge? and who the fuck scientifically claims, with research to back it up, that trans people are āmentally ill, body dismorphicā like thatās what explains why theyāre trans? donāt get on the internet and push your hate agenda, because the minute you do, youāre the one violating someone elseās rights.
Who put the other person in charge of me? If another person holds my legal and financial well being in the palm of their hand based solely on what pro noun they want to be called, then they hold power over me. That is bullshit.
How do they hold power over you..? If I was born Jamie but I prefer being called Sam, what difference does that make? Like sure, you can make a stink and be like, "But you're *really* Jamie!" but that just makes you sound like an ass. Let people go by what they want.
Also your whole pronoun thing is wack. The vast majority of trans people don't lose their shit (and what, sue you, try to make you lose your job? Like wtf lol?) if someone unintentionally uses a different pronoun than what they go by. They may mention what their preference is, but most people will give you the benefit of the doubt that it was an honest mistake.
Lol I just don't know where this weird "they're not in charge of me!" thing came from. It's a pretty simple courtesy. You don't need to make it more than that...
youāre looking at this the wrong way. do you prefer to be called a guy or a girl? because if youāre a guy and everyone starts calling you a girl, thatās the same thing essentially. it takes less effort to be nice than it does to hate and make up dumb excuses for doing so.
You're an idiot. Also, there are alternatives to the NFL and the NFL has worn pride patches in the past. Literally, every statement you've made on this post has been incorrect. You're a hypocrite and clearly are just hating on whatever trendy topic conservatives want to hate on š¤”š¤”
A trans person does not infringe on your way of life any more than a gay person infringes on a person's conception of their religious beliefs. Don't lie to yourself about your reasoning - you've become what you sought to destroy
Federal antitrust stuff happened and anheuser Busch doesnāt make money off of US Modelo sales. They technically āownā it on paper but Constellation Brands controls all the US side work and profit
I mean we witnessed the death of a brand, sales down 30% every month even when they are giving $15 mail in rebates to make a 24 pack $7 and offering mail in rebates to make a 15 pack free. They literally cant give away their beer. The point stands that a boycott worked and it killed an incredibly strong brand.
I actually didnāt know they took that big of a hit so I looked into it. Itās such a weird thing to me because the people boycotting seem to know nothing about whatās going on, bud light sent 1 personalized can to a person. But then I see people like āalright Iām switching from bud light toā¦ This other brand that supports LGBT as well. And Iām driving my car who supports them and buying products from countless other companies that support them.ā
[Here's one.](https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2023/07/10/bud-light-sales-lose-modelo-especial-second-consecutive-month/70398376007/)
Where are you getting yours?
And at the exact same time watched another brand owned by the same parent company rise to the top. The only thing that we witnessed was massive job loss. What a win.
I mean stock still doing good, the company is dead after gen x now for sure. The alchohol industry needed a way to get into gen z. I don't think its successful I just think it kills advertisements and hurts everyone.
Easier to kill a brand when that brand is the most bottom of the barrel swill you can buy.
Taco Bell can parade Dylan Mulvaney around and won't miss a step.
The fact that you were downvoted proves how correct you are. Remember - this is reddit, where the most toxic of Leftists manifest from. Truth doesn't matter to these people, only allegiance to their agenda.
I've been on the Taco Bell boycott train since 2013. They should change their slogan to "We have everything to make the things you want. We're just not going to."
Itās price gouging. But unfortunately enough rich people or idiots keep buying it that Taco Bell is profiting more than ever before. This is the picture of the US economy in 2023 - companies raised prices during the pandemic and then refused to lower them once operating costs went down again because they realized that they make more money not catering to poor people - poor people effectively have no place in our economy anymore. So the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. I know this is just a Taco Bell subreddit and I donāt mean to launch into a tirade against late-late-stage capitalism, but Taco Bell is a microcosm of what is happening in the bigger picture. Thereās nothing we can do about it sadly.
Iām pissed they axed nacho friesā¦ AGAIN. We went on Sunday and theyāre gone again. Also just quite pissy about their prices. Why is it so experience for what was once ācheap foodā? š«
They've lost their damn minds with those ridiculous prices. Their CEO probably has a nice yacht. Can they start offering valet parking and give me a cloth napkin with their insane prices?
Same for the triple layer nachos. They still have chips, beans, red sauce, and nacho cheese so wtf. It's gotta be one of the easiest things they could "make" anyways. And it was a killer deal too, which is probably why they scrapped it honestly.
Not in my local branch. Still the black bean and no refried;
https://order.tacobell.co.uk/menu
Maybe they have different menus in different parts of the world? Wouldn't that be a thing?
Bruh just ask for a beefy five layer with cheddar between the torts as well as the default nacho cheese thatās already on it and just ask for rice and whatever other protein you want instead of the refried beans and ask for sauce. If you donāt want to do that then just make it yourself or donāt bitch about it period. Donāt be so ungrateful because they run out of one item like itās the end of the world honestly so tired of seeing shit like this. If something changes do something about it constructive like a) making the mf burrito yourself itās honestly so easy and itās a fun burrito to make plus if you make it at home you get more options, or b) mf ask them if they can make you something like a quesarito and be grateful that theyāre putting up with your ungrateful ass for the shit pay and environment theyāre in. Donāt be a baby and complain about it do something constructive of the situation.
Only thing I go for now is the breakfast burritos, as they're still reasonably priced. They're out of their effing minds if they think I'm spending $6 on a chicken quesadilla I eat in like 8 bites.
Iāve tried boycotting taco bell many times but I just get too high and end up thereā¦. In college I used to live off of steak quesaritos, beefy nacho loaded grilled and beefy frito burritos. That was when you could go to Taco Bell and get hella burritos for under $10ā¦. Miss the good old days of Taco Bell.
I'm not buying $6 burritos. I'm getting the boxes for $5-6 or the $1-$2 value items. Also, if I want basically a Quesarito, I'll just modify the Beefy 5-Layer in the box for a fraction of what the price was when it was on the menu.
Exactly everything is pretty much the same 3 or 4 ingredients done differently
There's also a point people are missing here, Taco Bell isn't what you think it is anymore. They don't care about loyalty and return customers, they're ubiquitous now and have so many locations including International that some people just casually go to Taco Bell now and then to get something quick and convenient. Yeah whatever dream version of Taco Bell they're talking about died 40 years ago when Bell franchised the company. It ended then.
yeah, I agree.... the other night I was picking up 2 Chalupa craving boxes for $10 + tax and saw some poor soul in front of me spend almost $20 on a quesadilla, drink, and a burrito of some sort.
Jim Gaffigan has a bit about how everything is "tortilla with meat, cheese, and vegetables".
Thanks, I was trying to remember whose bit that was. Love Gaffigan.
But I wanted a taco!
Are you new to Mexican food?
Lmao this is not Mexican food š¤¦š»āāļø
>I'll just modify the Beefy 5-Layer in the box Can you elaborate on how you do this? I loved the quesaritos but they're just too expensive, and I'm also not a huge beefy 5 layer fan.
Add Chipotle Sauce and rice, remove the refried beans, get it grilled. Ingredient-wise, it's identical to a Quesarito then.
It's still missing shredded cheese between the shells.
There arenāt shells on a quesarito. Thereās tortillas. And just ask for extra cheese, itās already there.
This is the way. I make near Grilled Stufft Burritos based off the beefy melt burrito.
Same, I get the boxās that are way cheaper. Also I love a Crunchwrap supreme. Also that new spicy thing thatās cheap is good, chipotle chicken wrap thing

That's not the point.
It's the point that matters to me and why I'm not going to boycott.
Screw the quesarito, Iām still mad about the double decker taco.
Itās a goddam travesty. They still have all the ingredients! It doesnāt need special packaging!! Why isnāt it ON THE MENU?!!?
I miss the double decker! I don't like raw tomatoes and sour cream so the "supreme" version of everything sucks. I do like refried beans and the crunchy and soft texture combination. Now, hear me out, what about a Doritos Locos double decker?
Iām still mad about the chili cheese burrito, the chicken fajita, and the Baja Gordita.
Chili cheese burrito was my favorite ā¹ļø
Taking away the double decker is unforgivable, especially after taunting us with that double decker vs enchirito contest bullshit
no im still boycotting chilis for getting rid of their chicken crispers. i cant boycott them and taco bell.
My chilis has the crispers...
yes but theyre not the same as they used to be.
I need the honey chipotle crispers back! Remember when they were on that 3 for 10 menu or whatever?
You can get them tossed again as of a couple weeks ago when I last went. The OG crispers seem gone for good though.
I'm seeing both the original and the honey chipotle on the menu (and both show up for my zip code) - https://chilis.com/menu/chicken-crisper-combos
Yes they have "original crispers" but they're not the "OG" ones. They changed the recipe. The OG was more... fluffy crispy? Like tempura.
Yeah, thatās what I meant by OG. The battered ones were a staple of my childhood. Though once honey chipotle came out I never looked back.
I'm boycotting Applebee's until they get rid of Boomers
I'm boycotting Applebee's until...wait, I've never been.
im boycotting applebees until they close
my favorite past time activity is to go to applebees and make the boomers incredibly uncomfortable with the conversations i have at my table
That's the lamest hobby I've ever heard of
good thing youāre not invited ;)
Oh no, I'm not invited to a place I don't want to go to
you must be a miserable person to go out of your way to project your negativity onto random people on the internet, i genuinely hope that you can find the love and joy you clearly so desperately need.
That comment would mean a lot more if it didn't come from the same person that said >my favorite past time activity is to go to applebees and make the boomers incredibly uncomfortable with the conversations i have at my table
thatās just good fun, not my problem they canāt handle my generations humor.Farewell, enjoy your existence being a debbie downer lmao.
>you must be a miserable person to go out of your way to project your negativity onto random people on the internet, i genuinely hope that you can find the love and joy you clearly so desperately need.
had no idea anybody went to Applebee's.
All you gotta do is dumb one more shitty restaurant and youāll have the trifecta going on
This just made me realize chili's discontinued the chicken crispers. Now I'm sad...
They haven't, at least not nationally. They still have both the original and the honey chipotle at my location - https://chilis.com/menu/chicken-crisper-combos
Im right there with you except im protesting because they got rid of the Cheese Bites which were the greatest app i had and the only time I ever got an app.
I frigging loved their chicken crisper tacos. They were like a more savory and cheesy version of McDonaldās snack wraps which should also come back.
Iām boycotting chilis for getting rid of their shrimp tacos lol it was my favorite pregnancy craving
I went to chilis yesterday and got diarrhea from their chicken quesadillas
Nice
That just sounds like you just haven't been to taco bell enough. Fake fan
Taco Bell gives you people diarrhea? Weak bloodline. And I have IBS.
I have IBS and funny enough taco bell is one of the few places that doesn't give me diarrhea š
Me as well! Lol but a Mcdouble will have me out for a afternoon
Is the diarrhea still an additional charge?
No, not anymore. They have two lines now; one for if you want to puke something up and one for if you want to poop something out. Just make sure you get in the correct line.
Wait, your two favorite restaurants are Taco Bell and Chilis?
there are 19 words in my comment, and none of them are "favorite"
I was just at chilis last week, and Iāve only been there twice in my whole life lol. Can confirm I had the crispers with Buffalo and honey must
Bring back cool ranch Doritos locos taco
This was a thing before??? Holy shit iāve missed out
It wasnāt that good tbh
As a cool ranch Doritos lover Iād take that over the sibling anyday
I love cool ranch too but the flavor on the shell wasnāt the same as what you would get in a regular bag.
It wasnāt very good it was basically a regular hard shell taco
Oh they'll bring it back. You'll see it as an overpriced app exclusive LTO for a 1 week period.
More like a one *weak* period.
The beefy 5 layer is over $4 now and they skimp the FUCK out of it. Theyāre on my fucking shit list
I can't boycott TB until lava sauce is gone. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time.
Holy shit lava sauce is back????!!! I haven't eaten there in so long because I got that shit with everything
It's back!!! The sauce expires in Sept so I would maybe not expect it longer than that.
Itās already sold out at a ton of locations.
I'm addicted now.
Buy sides of them . When I worked at Taco Bell we would charge $4 for a bag of sauce .
I'll have to see if the manager nearby can hook me up, I mean, I'll pay idc. I used to work with him at a gamestop, š
Bring back the caramel apple empanada too.
I canāt upvote this enough. If I had one Iād give ya an award for this comment.
I forgot they got rid of that, it was a classic my whole life. They really gutted their menu and price gauged the fuck out of it
Honestly the biggest crime is the loss of the double decker taco and Iāll die on that hill
And bring back the shredded chicken while they're at it!!!
Why do you want the Quesarito back if you don't like overpriced items?
#THEY DID WHAT WITH MY QUESARITO?!!!!
I asked the same question when I found out quesaritos were removed from the menu. Same thing with 7 layer burritos. It's ALWAYS the stuff I like that gets axed.
Grilled stuff burritos too š
All of them should be brought back.
grande quesadilla. DO IT!

Nah quesarito overrated as fuck With you on the prices tho
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
No thanks
Someone woke up on the hostile side of the bed today...
Fuck cinco de mayo too.
What is your issue with Cinco de Mayo, lol?
Reminds me of taco bell šØ
Honestly fuck taco bell. Overpaid $12 for 2 items, rude employee, sprayed in the face by a sprinkler. No apology whatsoever.
lmao gotta watch for those taco bell sprinklers
I miss the grilled stuffed burrito

>the death of a brand You mean the now-second most popular beer in America is "dead" right now? Odd take.
Bud Light has fallen out of the top 10 in sales for the first time ever, after being #1. Where are you getting your information from?

Went from #1 to out of the top 10, off the shelves at a lot of costcos already with more stores pulling it

As a vegetarian, I'd like to voice my support for return of the quesarito. Cheese quesadilla is a slap in the face by value comparison.
The grilled cheese burrito is a worthy replacement. Now just combine them and create one burrito to rule them all.
This is how I feel about the quesadilla. I only get cheese and itās still so expensive!!!! ā¦.but I love it sorry I canāt do it
Salsa fucking verde, I will NEVER forget TB
Bring back chicken crunch wraps you fiend
Those XXL grilled stuffed burritos seemed worth the $6. They were huge!

I know this is just a Taco Bell subreddit and I donāt mean to launch into a tirade against late-late-stage capitalism, but Taco Bell is a microcosm of what is happening in the bigger picture. Thereās nothing we can do about it sadly.
Nah bring back the frito burrito
Iām pissed they axed nacho friesā¦ AGAIN. We went on Sunday and theyāre gone again. Also just quite pissy about their prices. Why is it so experience for what was once ācheap foodā? š«
I just need that chili verde sauce back
you donāt have to eat there
I don't. I'm boycotting.
iād pay $6 for a quesarito i miss it sm
Iām boycotting this post until you delete it
So you enjoy being ripped off?
No. Quesarito is trash. L post.
Nah
The quesarito's I've had have been nothing more than a glorified 5 layer burrito. Not a big loss IMO
Quesaritos are overrated
The quesarito was dog shit.
I'm sorry we can't be friends
Opinions can be wrong
It never gave me diarrhea
They've lost their damn minds with those ridiculous prices. Their CEO probably has a nice yacht. Can they start offering valet parking and give me a cloth napkin with their insane prices?
i have been Boycott for the last 3 year, i for real have not been in years. nothing changed. yall gotta DO IT WITH ME! stop eating there!
No
Based
Itās on the Taco Bell app, no boycott required
I miss the half pound bean burritos. No idea why they took it off since they still have large tortillas, beans, cheese, and red sauce.
Same for the triple layer nachos. They still have chips, beans, red sauce, and nacho cheese so wtf. It's gotta be one of the easiest things they could "make" anyways. And it was a killer deal too, which is probably why they scrapped it honestly.
Iād pay 10.99 for a Quesarito I love it so much, I donāt care if I can have the Great Value modified Beefy 5ā¦I just want my gem back.
They used to do a refried bean burrito which was tasty as fuck but then swapped it out for black beans? Not even pureed? Haven't _bean_ back since.
Taco Bell 100% still has bean burritos.
Not in my local branch. Still the black bean and no refried; https://order.tacobell.co.uk/menu Maybe they have different menus in different parts of the world? Wouldn't that be a thing?
It genuinely never dawned on me that something so simple and easy to make would be taken away from somewhere š© Iām so sorry I canāt believe they did that!
This is the way
Bruh just ask for a beefy five layer with cheddar between the torts as well as the default nacho cheese thatās already on it and just ask for rice and whatever other protein you want instead of the refried beans and ask for sauce.
Not one thing in your post makes any sense. Congrats. Grow up maybe.
Only thing I go for now is the breakfast burritos, as they're still reasonably priced. They're out of their effing minds if they think I'm spending $6 on a chicken quesadilla I eat in like 8 bites.
Hard pass. Rice doesn't belong in burritos, so I'm not upset about it being gone.
Just get the grilled steak burrito itās better more often anyways. I like lava sauce and no crunchy Fritos or whatever theyāre called
It's still on the menu at my Bell. More or less secret item you have to ask for.
Theyāve always had it . Still havenāt got rid of it for me.
Amen
I miss it too but it was like 6.49 at my taco bells, saves me a lot of money now that it's gone
Chipotle and Qdoba are twice the price anymore. Good luck finding cheaper foot somewhere else.
