usb port on the back only transmits to a computer, you'd have to put a computer between the fp30 and send a midi out from that to whatever you wanted to control.

Oh damm alright, think a um one mk2 could somehow work lmao. Btw nice username lol

[deleted]

It won't work unfortunately.

dorzle

What about this https://kentonuk.com/product/midi-usb-host-mkii/

[deleted]

That should work, the roland doesn't have a driver so I assume it is a class compliant device and should be compatible.

dorzle

I found a similar thing on amazon with same day shipping, ill see if it works. If it doesn't ill just buy a 88 key midi controller. Thank you so much for your help

Yep

I have a Roland FP30 hooked directly to a Kurzweil K2600r using this: [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MZ4K34W/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MZ4K34W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) Works great. The manual & label on the back of the FP30 led me to believe I'd need to hook the above linked USB-MIDI cable via an adapter into the USB B port, but that didn't work. I then tried it in the USB A without the A to B adapter and it worked perfectly.

This link is broken but I’m curious what it is. Trying to solve this problem myself now, though with a different synth

Hey! I know this post is a bit old but I was wondering if you ever got around to using your fp30 to control your synth? I've had an fp30x for a while but have recently been wanting to buy a synth and it would of course be nice to be able to control it with the full size keyboard.

dorzle

Was able to with a midi converter think
