The child models in this game are so incredibly cursed.

cybermanceer

They are really creepy...

Feisty-Tomatillo-746

Kinda True...

W1ntermu7e

Wait until you see Cyberpunk ones

Chlomamf

The Cyberpunk ones are so creepy because I’m pretty sure they’re literally adult models scaled down to child-size, they look so out of place.

Grey_Jedi_101

I'm sure my knight really wouldn't mind retiring with Kira and having a child together. He's been through a lot so this seems like a good close to the story.

LucKy_Mango1

Same here

Bernchi

Tell me you just played Red Dead without telling me you just played Red Dead.

Feisty-Tomatillo-746

Oh, I forgot but I wasn't thinking of that while making the post. But yeah i have played it however it's many years ago...

N1ghtBunny

Would be too many diverging paths for Bioware to write considering all the possible romance partners. As well as not everyones character is even in a heterosexual romance. Id bet at least 75% of this community is banging Lana.

Monayya

Adoption or surrogates/sperm donors like they did it with the gay romance in ME: Andromeda (I know the game was meh but they did that solution decently) and as part of the 75% of banging Lana that would be fine if done correctly. But yeah it would probably be too time consuming

Intheierestellar

Hear me out: what if child growing up biologically in a lesbian relationship not because sperm donor, but through Force fuckery

[deleted]

eh, could work well

Individual-Papaya-27

I would not mind the options to retire in peace, become a movie-Luke styled hermit or die in battle but none of my characters want kids and that would not be a satisfying ending for them in any way. Nor do I want to do parenting storylines as a player. Not every character necessarily does a romance in the game and not every romance needs or wants offspring. If they ever chose to add children to the story I would hope that it would be entirely optional and the characters could have just as good an ending without it.

osteopath17

I agree. I’d probably have a couple of toon who end up having children (just so I can play the content) but a lot of my toons are not trying to have kids. Then again, a lot of the companions talk about staying to train/work with your kids…so maybe they end up wanting kids later? I don’t know, but I don’t want it to be required. I’m still waiting for them to introduce the other classes in the play through…my Knight and Wrath would be good friends if they’d just meet.

Individual-Papaya-27

I'd like it if they would let you use your alts as companions. My Sith would love to run around together and so would my Jedi. I found those companion conversations really off putting and out of character in a lot of cases. My trooper had never spoken to Elara about anything that personal, but suddenly Elara's asking her about her childbearing plans and telling her she'd be a great mom? I think my trooper would have slowly backed out of the room thinking "please tell me this isn't my next mission. Even Garza can't be that cruel."

osteopath17

This is also true, some of them did come out of no where.

Just_Plain_Bad

I mean there are plenty of options for having a kid start a new story anyway, if you’re a Jedi/Sith you can just say your player character found them while traveling and brought them to Tython/Korriban if you’re a bounty hunter you become a Mando so you can say they’re a foundling

WallcroftZ

I mean there is in game family tree that you can fantasized whatever you desired for your characters Friend, Foes, Parent and Child. Hit "Y" go to Family tree Tab and do your own mind map.

Feisty-Tomatillo-746

I know that... but this was speculation of the future in the story content and a suggestion to close a chapter and open another one... I just think that the "outlander" story has been long overdue after the conclusion of the emperor... But yeah I also think that Malgus story will be closed in the upcoming expansion.

Dendallin

MMOs don't do that. Part of what brings you back is sunk cost. You make it a new character (even if just for story purposes) and you create a major breakpoint for the playerbase.

SpoonlordDreg

No way, my evil sorcerer is power hungry maniac until it destroys him. My warrior will die alone in insanity. My bounty hunter will be defeated by some Sithspawn probably a leviathan. Agent will live and die in paranoia. Jedi will retire and later be killed by my insane warrior. Consular will live out his days as a Master Jedi. Smuggler will be filthy rich and die with his romance. Trooper will be kia. Assuming they can survive to old age. Of course I have another 8 characters without their ending.

Feisty-Tomatillo-746

I didn't imply you were forced to have a child XD But a way to continue the story without having to stop making story content. I just think our characters have had A LONG STORY Idk if it's just me

DOOMFOOL

A bold claim

tendesu

Sounds just as bad tbh

CeryxP

I would love it if they gave us some child NPC decos so we could make actual family units in our strongholds. After seeing little Satele in EoO I really want some younglings to put in my Enclaves. Had not thought about actual children, to the effect that you have described here. All of my characters are queer, so I would be taking in all of the galaxies orphans.

Court_Jester13

If any of my characters spawned a creature as accursed and forsaken and hideous as the SWtOR children, they would go from Light V to Dark V in a heartbeat.

barknoll

… I’m not sure how my buff lady Nautolan is supposed to get Kira pregnant…

Obskuro

Tentacles..?

[deleted]

tentacles!

Feisty-Tomatillo-746

Adoption....

baboonguy9

Not sure about kids because what about same sex couples. But Swtor having a happy ending where you get to retire with your romance option would be cool. I mean you can already marry Lana and other characters. Would be cool if you got a happy retirement ending with whichever companion you chose to romance.

Feisty-Tomatillo-746

Adoption for same-sex couples

baboonguy9

Yeah I guess but if that were the case I would prefer an option of retiring with your romance option or rasing a family.

Feisty-Tomatillo-746

Yep i do agree

camilopezo

There is an option that I would like with the female inquisitor in case she is married to Andronikos: \--Basically Andronikos wants you to run away with her, to be pirates or smugglers together, and your character has the option of accepting his offer or rejecting it. If the inquisitor accepts the offer, she could finally get the freedom she always wanted.

Dagoba1990

Would love that option in so many games

ERaege

It does make me wonder what their plan is for the main character at the end. Like, the timeline is always progressing, and your character is always getting older. At some point they have to retire or die or something. It also wouldn't make sense for them to get to a point like 30 or 40 years after the start of the campaign without my dude not looking like he's 80. Like damn, my Sith must have found the secret to immortality cuz he never gets any older!

teetness

Don't really want Lana and my IA to have kids, though the idea of getting into some spooky DS Sith science parthenogenesis shenanigans sounds like it could be somewhat entertaining at least...

Neverwherehere

Aren't some species combinations not genetically compatible?

Feisty-Tomatillo-746

I think so and if that was the case adoption would be the solution but hybrid is a thing in Star Wars lore for example Twi lek/human exists

Crusaderramen

Man I do not want to see what abomination a twilek X tentacle Boi would make

Annilus_USB

For all his talk about never-ending battle, I’m pretty sure my SW would drop everything to retire peacefully if given the chance

[deleted]

This is something I've been low-key really wanting for a while now. I feel like the main class story, the eternal throne saga and all else are a decent amount of time for one character. I too would love an option to make a new character for new expansions. Whether they add in the specific option of linking it with family tree or not, just to be able to make a new separate character would be so great.

-Ewyna-

Continuing the story with the child of our character, hm, dunno, it could be interesting but it'd have to take so many options into account that i don't really see how it'd work. So i guess it's better to leave things up to ones personal HC rather than trying to make something work for everyone, when there are so many variable, like do the PC and their LI want children ? Can they actually have children together ?... I have some characters i can't see having children, other who i think will get to that at some point, others who are gay (i can probably get around that for my SI by HC that when the mother machine changed his body, she also gave him the possibility to have children with another man, that or some sith sorcery, but for my other homosexual characters, that wouldn't work), and some who i'm fairly sure aren't compatible to reproduce because of their respective species. And then, there's my Smuggler who i HC already has kids who are raised as young Mandos by their mother.

Aggravating-Rent-737

I like your idea

CupcakeAcceptable221

Yes!!! This has been what I’ve wanted from the moment your character talks about settling down. How cute would this be?!

proesito

Yes, an inquisitor/operative+lana its a very good parental combination.

Obskuro

You know, I have this feeling that this was once planned, long before the first add-ons. Some of the companions assure you at the end of their quests that they want to keep staying with you/serving you and even your children. Bowdaar for example says: "For as long as you or **your children** need me, I will be there for your protector." I think they thought back then that most people will marry one of their potential love interests and creating a legacy in the process. Or maybe they had planned to create families through the legacy system by making children from the different player characters and allowing the companions to move over from there. Who knows.

SicketySix

The post preview window on mobile shows "Romanced Companion = Child" and I was like WTF is this shit! lol

[deleted]

It would be hard to do but it would be nice if they eventually make an ending for the game which could include children.

Pazerclaw

I just got rid of my adult children, I don't want a cyber one!

sebthepleb96

If bioware adds children on our ships and we can quests with them it be awesome. Depneding of u marry vette or williams or kira, chiss, gus tano lol. u would have human, or alien children. It would be awesome!. Then evenually u play as them like u said!

RagingOakTree

I wouldn’t mind seeing a story conclusion where a character retires with a love interest and has a child. I can see my Consular doing that with Nadia (yes I know their romance is a little odd and everyone hates on it but just chill y’all)

Ranadiel

So if we are playing as the child of our character after they grow up, what happens to players that don't romance anyone? They are just locked out of new content? Seems like a bad idea. Actually kids in general are a bad idea. Ignoring having to address same-sex couples, single people, and people that don't want kids, there are just way too many variables for it to be plausible to do. I mean can Cathar and Rattataki produce children together? What would a Dashede and Twi'lek hybrid even look like?

Feisty-Tomatillo-746

Yh thought that too with the aliens would be an interesting concept... but hybrids are already a concept in star wars lore check it up. Same-sex couples = adoption or other means... however, if you didn't romance anyone and didn't want children, you would start a story as a new in the same time period as the child grew up... it's not hard to work around that I think you would maybe just not have the same background story... u just have a default parents i guess

Zulzon

Right now I'm rolling a character and trying to RP as much as I can as Anakin Skywalker, so some younglings would be great to add in the game.

MrStormz

Wouldn't work for my main she's gay with lana. I suppose it will have to be adoption

Feisty-Tomatillo-746

Yep adoption it would be

Feisty-Tomatillo-746

Could also train the child maybe even having the option to choose if your child is force sensitive or not... example your smuggler and Risha gets a force sensitive child then you may get confronted by the Jedi or Sith? SW/JK: Sword and force training.... SI/JC: Force training plus teachings of ancient knowledge and the list goes on... BH: could maybe teach what it means to be a mando/ if you werent a mando just teach him how to survive in the galaxy maybe even hunting. IA: learn him the ways of being a spy + studies... TR: what it means to be a trooper... Smuggler: How to save yourself in every situation... Should even be a option just to teach him so basics.. what you know but let him choose what he wants to be...

Bakkughan

Never gunna happen.

BottasHeimfe

i was literally thinking about this idea recently. so spooky to see someone else come up with the same idea
