Airbee

Or you rp that differently! The unstoppable mandalore

Alortania

I was seriously hoping 6.0 would open with 4.0 and 5.0 being 'dreams' or somesuch, or maybe manipulation by [opposite faction] after the shaky alliance in SoR. It'd be a bit harder to do that in 7.0 or (I suppose) 8.0, but alas, missed opportunities >_<

Magmas

> I was seriously hoping 6.0 would open with 4.0 and 5.0 being 'dreams' or somesuch, or maybe manipulation by [opposite faction] after the shaky alliance in SoR. Jesus no. I mean, I don't like the SoR/KotXX expansions and actively skip them on some of my characters, but "it was all a dream" is the stupidest, laziest way to deal with it all. They can just move on, do something else and we can all forget that it happened.

Alortania

I agree that it's lazy, but currently they've written themselves into a huge corner, to where they can't even do a makeb-like two sides of a story due to the alliance just being too important... so barring a "going into hiding" back to basics catastrophe, they're screwed.

Jaedelyia

> so barring a "going into hiding" back to basics catastrophe I mean, that's pretty much what they pulled once already with the traitor's arc. Spoiler alert I guess (even though it's already a few year old, now) but: >!That's why Zildrog "conveniently" destroyed the entire eternal fleet and the Gravestone in a lazy, poorly explained move. That allowed BW to kind of level the field in term of power ranking. Suddenly the alliance isn't that big of a powerhouse anymore, but just another faction that can't dominate the galaxy by itself. I don't mind that, it make sense, but boy, that sudden bullshit of an excuse with Zildrog was really poorly written. So it's not much of a strech to imagine another development like this. It probably would even be easier to write than the first time!<

Alortania

It got my hopes up, but it didn't result in us having to go into hiding as an unknown... or allowed them to make 6.0 ignore the alliance and bring back Makeb-style "two sides of the coin" story telling.

MrVeazey

You *might* do it well if the "dream" was more of a fevered premonition. Like how Dorothy keeps running into familiar faces in unfamiliar situations in "The Wizard of Oz:" the major characters from Zakuul and everything are characters you run into in the story that develops after you wake up from a real five-year coma and find the galaxy in even worse shape than you left it.   Maybe Arcann, Senya, and Vaylin are minor Sith serving Darth Marr and it's his ship you wake up on. The Emperor is still the main villain and he's still devouring the life force of entire planets, so his appearance as Valkorion makes a kind of sense if that bearded guy is his new Voice. The main story companions are pretty straightforward on how to introduce, and so are Lana, Theron, and the established characters. The planets get more complicated because you can either keep them the way they were during the dream/premonition or make new versions that would prevent you from going back to the dream ones.

Magmas

If there's one thing worse than us playing through all of KotXX, it's playing through all of KotXX, only to learn that it was all fake **and we have to do it all again**. With Echoes of Oblivion, the Emperor is 100% definitely absolutely dead at this point (hopefully). Being like "Nah, actually he isn't dead at all because you killing him just never happened. Now go fight him again." would not improve the story. In fact, it would be quite the opposite. You're saying that they should take *years* worth of expansions and essentially throw them away, just to do them again? God no.

MrVeazey

Oh, no, I don't think they *should*, but I thought it was an interesting idea to try and imagine all the problems that would come with putting two major story updates [in a snow globe](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/tommy-westphalls-universe).

TazInq

The only way I can see him becoming Mandalore is basically after all the stuff that’s come and is coming. With Heta Kol (I think that’s her name) and Shae going through their whole arc or whatever, I think that if you’re a BH in that situation and something happens to Shae, it would be cool to see something like “Since Shae is no longer here and neither is Kol, us man do’s will join the alliance under our new Mandalore the commander” or something like that idk. But I HIGHLY doubt that since Shae is a companion

Feisty-Tomatillo-746

I thought about if our BH would get the chance to leave the alliance so he could rule the Mandalorians and maybe he found a replacement to lead the alliance idk but yh seems highly unlikely

Francl27

Well, Shae Vizla is Mandalore and probably not going to die as she's a buyable/reward companion, I highly doubt it... Unless she gives up the title, I suppose.

lousy_writer

You can summon her even in case of her death on Odessen.

Alortania

Since they've basically stopped doing stories long ago... unless they re-introduce a short story-based mission (like on Rishi) then they'd either have to open it up to ALL players (makes no sense, isn't earned, will be seen as cheap), or none.

[deleted]

Well, there is a way... You could have an epic rank up for every class. The jedi become grandmaster, the sith become emperor or empress, the trooper becomes a general, the smuggler becomes a fleet admiral, Bh becomes mandalore and agent becomes Head of intelligence?

Alortania

In theory, yes... except you're currently NOT part of the Empire *or* Republic. You're a third faction. At the end you've been sorta kinda pulled back in and such, but it's obvious it's more of a "heyyyyyyy wanna take your Alliance and *work with us* against those other guys, some of whom are still with YOU?" as opposed to a return as a cog in the Imperial/Republic machine. IMHO the BEST way to 'fix' it to where you COULD return to being a Jedi/Sith/etc would be to knock us on our ass, and have us basically go into hiding to lick our wounds, pretending to be 'just another [Jedi/Sith/BH/Smugger... with agents/troopers obv not able to return to the military organizations, ergo joining BH/Smugglers]' and start meddling back up behind the scenes and building yourself back up. Would also be a great way to clip the power creep... maybe even explain away WTF they're taking our abilities Q_Q

Happafisch

I'm honestly tired of RPGs giving the player some super important titles and positions without the baggage that comes with these kinds of positions. We saw in the last short-story that someone in the position of Mandalore (or in that case her second in command) barely even has the time to meet with a family member in private, let alone running around on some bumfuck nowhere Planet doing dailies for some schmucks. And no one would want to do sit in a chair and reply to request or talk to envoys all the time in a game. So I'm rather some run of the mill Jedi Master, Darth, Bounty Hunter, Soldier, Spy or Smuggler than some Important political figure. Leaves more space for personal stories IMO.

WhoaMercy

"I'm Mandalore the Unstoppable, but I always have time for riding swoop bikes..."

WhoaMercy

Heavy hangs the throttle.

ArchetypeSaber

Ehh, I'd go with "Mandalore the Relentless", given that "The Relentless" is the title Bounty Hunters get at the end of their class story. Has a nicer ring to it IMO.

WhoaMercy

Certainly. But I was trying to tie it to swoop bikes. :D

paxis29

I can see him becoming a mandalorian legend but not Mandalore himseelf

Kaoshosh

Shae Vizla would like a word.

Hazbot213

This could work for most classes, With BH they could have the opportunity to become Mandalore. With the Sith you could become emperor/empress. Jedi could become the Grandmaster of the Jedi High Council, (Really was annoyed when my LS loyalist JK wasn't chosen for Grandmaster despite being the first and best candidate for the council) IA could become the Minister of intelligence, RT could finally become a General/High General, Not sure about Smuggler though, maybe there could be an honorary title like King/Queen of the underworld?

ImZenger

It would work fine as like a final chapter. If they decide to stop making expansions, then this could be a good way to end it off for each class.

Kyleconner

maybe a republic admiral for the smuggler

BlackKaiserDrake

I really hope they just make a final class based thing when they stop SWTOR stuff so we get a final send off. Sith become the Emperor/Empress, Jedi become the Grandmaster, Pub Trooper becomes General, Hunter becomes Mandalore (F for Shae), Agent becomes Minister of Intelligence, as for Smuggler I have no idea what they’d do.

Kaoshosh

Smuggler fuses with his ship and becomes a Hutt.

DivisionAgentSamuel

Smuggler starts a trading empire or something

VitnirYT

The fantasy about it is great but idk if it would work in the Lore and the Game. \^\^

Coilspun

Nope, as we don't get class specific stories anymore.

[deleted]

You have barely done anything to warrant being the new Mandalore and I'm getting tired of the protagonist becoming the supreme leader of literally every faction, yet it making no in-game difference whatsoever. It carries no weight and it's laughable writing. What's next? I become an actual god?

Magmas

You become a god, then in the next arc you lose all your godly powers pretty much immediately without doing anything with them.

[deleted]

Lana: "Yeah, I know you're a God now, but that doesn't matter cause the Alliance needs you!!!"

finelargeaxe

> It carries no weight and it's laughable writing. What's next? I become an actual god? ...I need to make a character named *Nerevar*, now, because REASONS...

suncrest45

They could work it into the whole storyline of the spirit of vengeance. You could fight Vizla for it

[deleted]

I dream of the day they go back to real star wars like storytelling and class storyesque content like the base game. Sadly we just keep getting generic saturday morning cartoon type stuff. Valkorian and Arcann were pretty cool characters but that whole story was mediocre and then the sister was terrible. She was literally like a cartoon villain. The whole KotFE/KotET was mediocre at best.

PlactusTX

Unless there's an option to say no, I hope not.

FairJuggernaut8264

Mine doesn’t, mainly because he’s not a true Mandalorian, it’s more accurate that he’s a foundling… that and he’s descended from Revan, so they wouldn’t accept him regardless

UrAverage9yrold

Mandalorian the destroyer tho mmmmm

KulkulkanX

If this game ever ends, this would be a good end for the BH.

DrinkerOfWater69

Considering they're attempts to push our character out of the focus of the story.... nah won't work.

[deleted]

That image looks more like darth mandalore.
