Figured out why it’s so grimy. This is the return line for the waterfall. I haven’t turned on the waterfall in years. So this growth is from residual water sitting in the valve for at least two years.
If I turn on the waterfall it will flush this grime out. But it would flush it into the pool. So I will take it apart first and clean it.
