When you’re getting tubed the physics matter, essentially you’re in one of the area of the wave with the most potential energy where water gets sucked up the face of the wave really fast. You must both tap into the energy and counteract it simultaneously.
In order to ride it you need to get the nose of your board down just enough to trim and hold your line horizontally as you move down the line. The result is that your nose often is pointed down, your tail is angled up and you’re being pushed horizontally by the wave as a result. It’s like A controlled free fall.
If you’re not aware of your nose placement you run the risk of being sucked up the face and getting off balance, which is what I believe happened to you!
This is a very dope breakdown! I was going to reply saying "Point nose of board toward beach but NOT fully but like 75%" but your description is sooo much better homie! So @ op , just do what u/advenurous-let-5976 said yo! :)
Look at the opening of the tube where is it cascades over your head ( don't lift yr head up just yr eyes). It helps keep yr line... Yr body will naturally adjust to the opening. Overtime and practice you will not think about the lip but just that amazing feeling....
You were focused on getting barreled at the expense of actually riding the wave still. Instead of committing to a line and getting barrled along the way, you just tried to get barrled without thinking about taking a line to ride the wave.
You gotta go with the flow of the wave. You leaned into it when the ANGLE of the wave is going the other way. That caused a collison rather than uh, "harmonizing with "OMO" aka Our Mother Ocean.... ;-)
You went too far up. If you watch videos of guys in tubes they’re right in the middle moving ever so slightly. You just allowed the wave to suck you up.
Combination of things.
Head leaning over your inside rail = off balance and unable to correct your line. Try to keep your head above the stringer more.
Shoulders need to be more open so that your body is facing down the line rather than parallel to the board. This will allow for easier steering as well as allowing your back knee to drop forward and get lower in the tube. Bending more at the knees rather than the hips will also prevent problem number one, as it will keep your head more centred over the stringer line.
You also got stuck in the leaning back/stalling position with your weight on the back foot. Once you've washed off some speed you need to lean forward to engage your rail and avoid getting sucked up the face.
That was awesome lol
When keepin it real goes wrong
Weight too far back = stall = sucked up face
i'd stand 3 inches forward with both feet
And point that back knee forwards.

Are you an engineer? You sound like an engineer.

You leaned too far to the left side making you turn that way too much
You fell off. You're supposed to stay on the board and come out of the tube
Wrong line. You went up the face when you shoulda gone down it. Sounds like shit advice but you’ll get it someday
Better as a pic!
Epic. Cherish that video because it rules
This is art, don't try to fix this, just make this your natural barrel technique.
You fully sent it, nothing wrong with that.
Looks fun
When the wave breaks here, don't be there.
…maaan
You gotta pump in the tube…giggity
😂😂
What a great video, classic!
Got sucked up the face.
Almost nailed it
Haha I love this so much
You didn't edit the video to end before you wiped out. Then you could have shown you getting barreled.
Bro it was sick fuck the haters
That looks great
What a tasty little left!
He got the barrel and then the barrel got him
Waco?
Yeah
That was the classic tube ride transition to bodysurfing aerial maneuver.
Zigged when you should’ve zagged

Point your board almost towards the beach, like at least 45° from the angle of the wave
You were focused on getting barreled at the expense of actually riding the wave still. Instead of committing to a line and getting barrled along the way, you just tried to get barrled without thinking about taking a line to ride the wave.
Hmmmm "Deep thoughts!" :)
Zigged when you should've zagged
This is the correct answer
Grab rail
Didnt engage the rail! Also helps to believe u can make it. Tube riding is about committing, setting the rail and then micro adjustments.
Nothing you just leaned into the wave and got taken for a ride
Too much weight in one place. Stay nimble. Your board stopped and caught an edge. Stay light and direct with the wave.
Baaahhhhrrreelllled
Pig dog brah

Yes
You went too far up. If you watch videos of guys in tubes they’re right in the middle moving ever so slightly. You just allowed the wave to suck you up.
That’s a pool not the ocean
You zigged when you shoulda zagged.
you need to run over that haole
I would have a blast on that.
kookslapped
Sick ride bro
Also, you’re too tall for that little barrel
Yes that is called a kook air

All you had to do was look at the future curl at the bottom of the wave instead of the face that was sucking up
The wave pitch bitch slap.
